Where the Heart Finds Home: A Western Historical Romance

Rate this book
In the vast and breathtaking Montana Territory of the late 1880s, Laura Rose Hartley arrives in Lone Valley with nothing but a few possessions and hope for a new beginning. Fleeing the destructive influence of her brother Jasper, Laura dreams of stability and independence after years spent sacrificing her own needs to manage his destructive behavior.

When a ferocious blizzard strands her miles from safety, Laura's carefully laid plans seem destined to end in tragedy. Instead, fate brings her into the path of rancher Boone Callahan—a man as rugged as the landscape he tends, whose own heart still bears the scars of abandonment after his fiancée left him for the allure of California gold.

As Laura recovers at the Callahan Ranch, she finds unexpected warmth in the company of Boone, his wise father Zeb, and the tight-knit community of Lone Valley. Working alongside Boone to earn her keep, Laura discovers a sense of belonging she's never known, while Boone finds himself drawn to her quiet strength and unwavering faith despite his determination to guard his heart.

Under star-filled Montana skies, their cautious friendship blossoms into something deeper. But just as Laura and Boone begin to envision a future together, the shadows of her past arrive in Lone Valley. Jasper has tracked her down, bringing dangerous gambling debts and desperate schemes that threaten not only Laura's newfound peace but the safety of everyone at the ranch.

Facing this crisis forces both Laura and Boone to confront their deepest fears—her fear of being pulled back into her brother's chaos, and his fear of trusting his heart only to lose everything again. With the support of their community and their growing faith in each other, they must find the courage to determine what truly makes a home and a family.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Montana's frontier, "Where the Heart Finds Home" is a moving tale of healing, second chances, and the transformative power of love. This heartfelt Christian historical romance reminds us that home isn't just a place—it's wherever love takes root and flourishes, even through life's harshest seasons.

An amazing find!

This was a new author to me that I found through a promotional. I was pleasantly surprised at the story, a sweet and gentle love story with grit and determination. I liked both Boone and Laura; their characters were deep and well developed. The plot was one with heartache, strength, and love that neither one was looking or expected. I’m pleased with my find and look forward to reading other novels by this author.

Awesome book!

Wow! Amazing story about Laura who runs away from her alcoholic brother. She is rescued from a blizzard by Boone. I like this story because it shows how enabling an alcoholic never helps the situation. It is never easy to break free and the guilt of thinking could I have done more for this person. It is definitely an awesome book to read and has a HEA ending!

Beautiful

A well written story with characters that feel like you've known them all of your life. The trials these two have to go through would test anyone but you can't help but admire them.
