After our one night together I never expected to see Lance again. I definitely never expected to see him sitting at a bistro in the French Quarter. My town. My home. My refuge after finding out I was pregnant in the middle of my poli-sci fellowship But there he was, still handsome as ever. Still rockin' a three-piece suit like nobody's business. He was here for the summer to write his next bestseller In my town There's no way I'll make it an entire summer without falling for him And there's no way I'll be able to keep our daughter a secret
Hey I'm Natasha and I love stories. I love to read them, to watch them and most of all I love to wrtie them. I find people endlessly fascinating and frustrating, which makes for the most interesting stories!
I also love politics and true crime so in addition to writing romance, I also write political satire & thrillers. It has been my dream to make a living as a writer since I was a kid and got lost in Judy Blume, The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High (is my age showing?!?!). When I'm not writing I can be found engaging in one-sided conversations with Rachel Maddow, singing very loudly very badly and trying out new cuisines from around the world.
I love to laugh, I gave my husband a sappy pet name and I think answers to most of life's dilemma's can be found in an episode of Dawson's Creek.
My first series, Mustang Prairie, is small town romance because I feel they offer a variety of fun characters whose lives are interconnected. It is based loosely on my college town, which was the smallest town I've ever lived in...Go Panthers!
3.5 stars It's Only Forever by Natasha is the second entertaining book in the One Night series. This is a second chance age gap romance and an easy story to get lost in. With all the feels, drama, angst, passion, steam, secrets, and love all make for a good read. One night of passion was all it was meant to be but someone or something had other ideas. Now he finds himself face to face with a secret he doesn’t know. Lance comes face to face with the woman he can’t stop thinking about and now I learn I left one thing behind after our one night of passion. Don’t miss out on this charming contemporary romantic tale. The characters are well written and the road to romance was sweet.
What an incredible, heartfelt romance! I absolutely adored this book and the characters!
Before parting ways, Mya and Lance shared one special night six years ago. However, Mya had something that would always remind her of her feelings for him…a precious daughter, Laney. She had plans to take the political world by storm. Now, Mya lives in New Orleans, working at a job she doesn't like. However, she has her beautiful daughter and best friend, Jen, who completes her life.
Lance finds himself in New Orleans for the summer. He hopes the change of scenery will help him finish his book by the deadline his publisher has given him. Lance has no clue how this summer will change his life. He happens to run into Mya, and the feelings he has always had for her come roaring back. Mya is just as surprised as he is, and like him, those old feelings have never died. He wants to get to know her again, and she feels the same. However, she knows she won't be able to keep his daughter a secret for long. Will this news stop their second chance before it even begins?
I loved all the characters, even the supporting ones. Mya and Lance were complex and flawed, which made them all the more realistic. The one night they shared in the past didn't happen in the best circumstances. Mya endeared herself to me by taking full responsibility for her decision, which played a huge part in keeping Laney a secret from Lance. She also felt a sense of guilt about doing so. I could also understand why she kept it a secret. In turn, Lance also took responsibility for his choices as well. They were characters that had heart. Jackson did a phenomenal job sharing Mya's insecurities, even though she was such a strong female lead character. Seeing Lance with Laney melted my heart. He was such a good Daddy. Who couldn't fall in love with Laney? She was precious. The characters and the novel were well-written. Jackson transported me into the story, and I felt like I was a part of it as I witnessed this incredible love story unfold before me. The supporting cast of characters rounded the story out very well.
This novel had it all….great characters, a great story, spice, and sweetness. Jackson combined all these things together brilliantly. She took great care in creating the book and characters, even down to the title's name. "It's Only Forever" perfectly describes the relationship between Mya and Lance. It began with one night, but both wanted a shot at forever. All these years later, they want forever, but they must overcome obstacles to make that wish a reality. I loved the book from the beginning until the very end.
Jackson is a new author to me, and I love her! I'm hoping she returns to New Orleans and that Jen and even Aidan get their own books. I'm sure they both have a story to tell! I'm looking forward to reading more from N.D. Jackson.
A very good interracial, age-gap, second chance at romance, It's Only Forever, is the story of the student, Maya and professor, Lance Carrothers. After four years of being infatuated by her political science professor, Maya decides she wanted one night with him, and decides to seduce him even though he's married. However, she didn't plan on getting pregnant. After finding herself pregnant, she couldn't tell him because she didn't want to be a part of breaking up his marriage. Fast forward almost six years, and they run into each other in New Orleans. She discovers she made the biggest mistake of her life by not telling him about the pregnancy because she finds out that he's been divorced almost since she last saw him. She kept her daughter and father separate which was immoral of her. She knows she has to tell him about their daughter, Laney, a precocious 5 year old.
He's now a best selling author in addition to being a professor. She hasn't been as successful because she was a single mother who put her child welfare before a career. The discovery of each other and Laney and how their lives intersected, as well as the love story of Maya and Lance, took off in the first twenty-five percent of the book, then slowed down and seemed to take a long time to get to forever.
After a little too much angst, especially on Maya's part, with the help of her BFF, they find their HEA. I was left wondering what happened with her best friend and his brother or was it his landlord, the veterinarian? Too many errors left too much confusion about who the BFF was attracted to or was it her ex? Also, what happened to the relationship with his parents and Laney. Do I even care?
This is the second book in the One Night Series. This is a second chance romance which has secrets, passion and an age gap romance. The author has done a great job with the characters making them likeable and realistic which made me even more invested in their story.
This is Mya and Lance's story. Mya has always been attracted to Lance who was her professor. One night at the end of the year when Mya never thought she would see him again, she took a chance and they let their attraction for each other overrule their heads.
Fast forward and Mya has moved to a new town, doing a job she hates and raising her daughter. The last person she expects to see is Lance. Lance has decided to spend the summer in a new place, somewhere he hopes his creative juices will flow as he tries to write his next book. The last thing he needs is distractions. However when he sees a vision of a woman who has haunted him for years and then discovers that the woman isn't just part of his imagination but really there Lance realises that his summer just got a whole lot more complicated. As their attraction to each other stokes the embers of a fire they thought had died out could this be the second chance that they have both been waiting for. Or will a secret from the past destroy their chances before they even had a chance.
This was a really moving story. The emotion inside was so great a felt like I was experiencing it alongside the characters. Writing like that is what I love as I feel completely invested in the characters and their story.
Sweet, sexy, and brimming with second-chance tension, It’s Only Forever is a heartfelt romance that will have you smiling one minute and swooning the next. N.D. Jackson blends emotional depth with breezy charm in this story of unexpected reunions, hidden truths, and the undeniable pull off fate.
Our heroine thought her one night with Lance was just that—a single, unforgettable evening. But fate has other plans. When she spots him again, this time in her hometown of New Orleans’ French Quarter, the chemistry is as electric as ever. There’s just one catch: she’s been raising their daughter without him ever knowing.
Lance is every bit the romantic hero—charismatic, successful, and still rocking a three-piece suit with dangerous confidence. But it’s his tenderness, his genuine connection to both our heroine and their secret child, that makes him unforgettable. As the summer unfolds, so does their slow-burn reconnection, rich with emotional nuance and sizzling with restrained desire.
Jackson captures the vibrant soul of New Orleans—the music, the food, the sultry nights—and uses it as the perfect backdrop for a love story full of vulnerability and courage. This isn’t just about rekindling an old flame; it’s about building a new life from the pieces of a past that never really ended.
When you spend the amazing night with the man of your dreams but then find out your pregnant and you find out he is married, can you bury the secret forever or will one day it come out.
Mya was at college five years ago and had one hell of a one-night stand with a professor of history and political sciences but no walking through the French Quarter in New Orleans she spots some one who she thought she would never see again, Lance.
Lance is in New Orleans trying to right his next book but while sat in the French Quarter he sees a person from his past who he has never really been able to get out of his brain, so when they rekindle their friendship can he keep his feeling separate, or will he pursue Mya like he wants to.
This is a lovely story full of romance and passion, with the characters being perfect for each other. The story flows with each page, slowly delving into the pasts and futures of these two characters.
I love the character of the daughter also with her quick wit and adorable comments that make her a great addition to the story, which had you turning the pages to see what was next. This is a great age gap romance which will have you cheering with the HEA.
It’s Only Forever by N. D. Jackson is a wonderful love story. Lance is a college professor and author who came to New Orleans for the summer to write his second novel. While at a café, he spots Mya, a graduate student with whom he spent one night 5 years earlier. Lance never stopped thinking about Mya. Mya was shocked when she heard her name called outside a café and even more surprised to find the professor with whom she’d had a crush and spent one magical night with. As a result of their one night of passion, Mya became pregnant. Mya made the decision to keep her pregnancy a secret because Lance was married. Lance never told Mya that his marriage was over.
Seeing Mya again, Lance was reminded of how much he wanted to spend time with her. Mya still had feelings for Lance, but she felt guilty for never telling him that he had a daughter – the same little girl he had met a couple of days earlier. When Mya finally confessed that Laney was his daughter, Lance made it known that he wanted to get to know her better. Mya was thrilled that lance wanted to spend time with their daughter and even though they both had feelings for each other, Mya knew it was only a matter of time before Lance would have to leave New Orleans to start his book tour. This story is full of romance and passion – secret baby, second chance at love, age gap – there’s something for everyone.
This author never fails to deliver a heart-hitting story with spice. Her characters are real, relatable, funny, and intelligent. Laney was just the best. She was snarky, funny and witty. Loved her.
Mya had an ONS with her graduate school professor. She knew that was all it could be. She was good with that. When she found out later that she was pregnant, Mya didn’t reach out to her professor because he was married and she wasn’t going to cause waves.
Lance knew his marriage was over long before that night with Mya. He just made it official afterwards. Now 5 years later, while hiding away in New Orleans for the summer to write his new book, Lance sees Mya again. His feelings of old resurface and he wants another chance with Mya before he even finds out about Laney.
Once Lance finds out that Laney is his, he is all in. He just has to make sure that Mya knows it, understands it, and accepts it. As Lance’s time in New Orleans grows short with his book finished, will he and Mya survive the separation? Can he prove to Mya that he is serious about being in Laney’s life, even from a distance?
Fantastic and wonderful story of second chances and family. Beautifully written.
Second Chance Romance & Becoming A Daddy? Uh, Yes Please!
It’s Only Forever by N.D. Jackson is everything a second chance romance should be. There is a terrific plot, an amazing FMC, a swoony MMC, a fabulous cast of minor characters, some drama, and great spicy spice. Mya is the strong, brilliant, beautiful FMC, who somehow manages to believe that she doesn’t deserve the happiness that comes her way, always overthinking things and tends to get in her own way. Lance is the classy, sexy, intelligent college professor that happened to have a one night stand with Mya one week before she graduated. What he didn’t know will come to light, and that is precisely what has Mya so worried. This is the first time I have read a book by Jackson, and I loved it. I do wish, though, that there was more to the story. This was the perfect comfy book to curl up with on a rainy day like today. I enjoyed the few hours the few hours it took to read this and it provided the warm, happy distraction that I needed for such a dismal day.
This book is by an author that I never hesitate to pick up. This author’s books are engaging, hard to put down and great romance stories. This book is no different. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the character’s world with ease and keep me there until the end. The characters are written with a lot of heart and soul and just add so much to the story. This is a well written story about a one night stand and what happens when they meet unexpectedly again. Lance is someone she never thought to see again until she does. Now she is faced with trying to keep her secret and from falling for him. These two characters are connectable, engaging and made me want to know more. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout which made the story easy and entertaining. I wanted to see what happened to these two and if they would get their HEA. I really enjoyed reading their story. I highly recommend this book.
From a single, unforgettable night, to a serendipitous reunion in the heart of New Orleans, this story captivated me from the very first page. The author beautifully weaves a tale of unexpected second chances, exploring the complexities of fate and the magnetic pull of undeniable chemistry.
What truly resonated with me was the authentic portrayal of Mya's internal conflict. Balancing motherhood with the reemergence of the man who sparked it all. Lance's charm is irresistible, and his presence ignites a slow-burn romance that's impossible to resist.
This isn't just a love story; it's a journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and the courage to embrace the unexpected. I was completely invested in Mya and Lance's journey, eagerly turning pages to see how their story would unfold. Prepare to be swept away by the magic of New Orleans and the undeniable connection between two souls destined to meet again.
It's Only Forever: An Age-Gap, BWWM, second chance at romance
I fell in love with Laney as soon as I met her, at six she is just a little older than my grandson so I could get a pretty clear visual of her reactions and behavior.
Mya and Lance had one incredibly hot night that shouldn't have happened but it did, there wasn't day after that Mya didn't think of him.
Lance's writers block was the best thing that could have happened to him, he ends up in New Orleans and runs into Mya after six years while out and about. After their initial shock things fell back into the comfortable friendship they had when she was a student
I so enjoyed seeing their relationship pick up where they left off, but also realizing their feelings for one another.
Once again Ms. Jackson gave me a book that kept me reading until it was done. I have come to expect nothing but that when I start reading anything by her and I can't wait to see what she releases next.
It’s Only Forever is the second book in the new One Night series by N.D. Jackson. Having enjoyed the first book, there was no hesitation in one-clicking a copy of this to dive into. This is a sweet, somewhat angsty contemporary romance - with a second chance element, angst, a secret baby, single mother, hot professor/author, one night that changed everything, age gap, BWWM interracial romance, and emotion. Mya and Nate were perfect for each other- only they just didn’t realise it at the time. Now they have a second chance. But what happens when secrets are revealed? You will need to read the story to discover how everything plays out in the end. A sweet romance. As a side note- what a beautiful cover – but I hope it’s a ‘real’ image though, and not AI generated, as I suspect it might be as it seems too ‘perfect’ ☹ Happy Reading…
I really enjoyed this second chance at romance story and was kept happily turning the pages. Mya and Lance had one very passionate night together and then didn’t expect to see each other again. Mya is shocked to see Lance sitting in a bistro in the French Quater, looking handsome in his three-piece suit. Mya had made the town her home whilst looking for a refuge after discovering she was pregnant in the middle of her poli-sci fellowship. She learns that Lance is staying for the summer in order to write his next bestseller, which means she’s can’t keep their daughter a secret from him any longer. The descriptive narrative brought both the setting and the characters vividly to life which made me feel fully immersed in the story. I loved the chemistry between Mya and Lance and how their relationship developed. An enjoyable and engaging read which I recommend reading today!
OMG 😱 this was a spicy but page turner and the suspense was incredible intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down literally. So Mya ran into Lance on the street of New Orleans and in a panics just because she had been keeping a secret from him for years. Lance is in New Orleans. Will this secret change their lives forever from a one night of passion .They couldn’t fight the temptation anymore as they gave into pleasure and embrace on how they feel about one another. As they were rekindled a romance once again. Or will the truth come out and how would he react towards hearing the secret and seeing this special moment. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Five years ago, Mya and Lance spent one amazing night together. Mya was attending college at the school in Nebraska that Lance was a professor in history and political science. Now, Mya and her adorable and precocious daughter, Laney, live in New Orleans with Mya's best friend Jen. Lance is working on his second political science book, and has gone to New Orleans in the hopes that a change of scenery will help with his struggles in writing. When he and Mya unexpectedly run into each other in the French Quarter, secrets start to come out. Mya learns that Lance is now divorced from the marriage that prevented her from telling him about Laney for the past five years. This book is an age gap, BWWM romance, with relatable main characters, but you will absolutely fall in love with Laney and some some of the other side characters. This book is a GHEA.
This is the first book I have read from this author and now she has a new fan. I love a good second chance romance and this story exceeded all my expectations. I fell in love with these characters right from the start. I could not put this book down and it only took me a few hours to devour this amazing book. I can’t wait to see what this amazing author will write next.
Mya is loving her life. She works in a beautiful cafe in the French Quarter with an amazing daughter. Mya is working and she hears a man’s voice call her name and she is shocked to see her old professor eye to eye. She has been hiding a huge secret from him and since he is in town for a while she tells it to him. Mya’s daughter Laney is his. Lance wants to know his daughter and she is fine with that. She starts to feel like she is falling for him again but is she ready give up her heart again?
Mya and Lance had one night of passion and made a daughter together. Mya never told Lance because he was married and she never thought she would be seeing him again. Five years later Mya is living in New Orleans and hears her name being called from outside of a coffee shop. Lance is there hoping to get inspiration and write his next novel. Old feeling flare up for both parties and Mya knows it won't be long before Lance finds out they have a daughter named Laney. Does she tell him about their daughter or keep her a secret or tell him? Is she ready to lose her heart again? I have read several books by this author and like the others this was a good story. There is potential for another book about Mya's best friend and her love interest. I do hope this turns into a series of several books as I would like to see how this love story continues to unfold.
It's Only Forever: An Age-Gap, BWWM, by N.D. Jackson is a great second chance at romance
She never thought she would see Lance again after their one night together. After learning she was pregnant during her poli-sci fellowship, she most certainly never imagined seeing him eating at a café in the French Quarter, her town, her home, and her haven. But he was still wearing a three-piece suit like it was no big deal, and he looked just as good as ever. To write his next best-seller, he spent the summer In her hometown. She couldn't possibly survive a whole summer without falling in love with him again. She would also be unable to conceal their daughter in any way.
Every page was exciting, and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings excitement into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I can't wait to read from this author.
It's Only Forever: An Age-Gap, BWWM, second chance at romance by N. D. Jackson. This is a great second chance romance and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It's the story of Mya and Lance who had a one night stand years ago so when Mya runs into Lance in New Orleans which has been her safe place all those years in between she is shook. The reason being, Mya has kept a very important secret from Lance and now he's going to come face to face with that secret. Lance is in the big easy to complete his new book and he's not been able to get Mya out of his mind from all those years ago. He's so excited to see her but when he realizes the secret she has kept he may not be able to forgive her. This is a great second chance romance with lots of spice.
It’s Only Forever is a Contemporary Romance/ Second Chance Romance that I pretty much devoured in one sitting. I’ve read several books by this author and this may be my favorite yet. Their attention to detail along with connectable, relatable, fully developed and complex characters make the story come to life. This story has, drama, secrets, adventure and so much more. These two have great chemistry between them. What will happen when secrets come out? Can they get the second chance they deserve? I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m always looking forward to reading more from this Author.
I loved reading this book, it was such a sweet romance about a second chance at love with a surprise parenthood. The characters are so relatable that you can't help but see things from both of the main characters points of view. The primary setting is in New Orleans, where the food is spicy, the entertainment never ends, and the people all know one another. Add in a sweet little girl with a heart of gold, and it's a match made in heaven, but nothing in life is ever so simple, at least that's what our two main characters have to navigate. Will they be able to overcome the shock of reconnecting for their daughters sake, or will it be too much to hope for a happily ever after together? I highly recommend this feel good romance about a second chance at love. @Brandy Rymer 04/2025
Years ago, Mya and Lance had a one night stand. Fast forward to present day, and Mya is shocked to see Lance in New Orleans. He is in town to work on his latest book. Imagine his surprise when he runs into the woman he can't stop thinking about. He wants to get to know her, but Mya is hesitant...because she is hiding a secret. Are there still feelings there after all these years? And, will Lance be able to forgive her once he learns her secret?
These characters were enjoyable and kept me turning the pages. They were both relatable and were dealing with real life issues regarding relationships, careers, and just being adults! I enjoyed this second-chance romance.
This book is a great second chance romance story and a well developed story. For me, this book is all about the characters, especially the peripheral ones. I thought they all interacted so seamlessly and added to the overall enjoyment of the book. The two main characters have a strong chemistry. They have quite a bit to overcome but I couldn't help but root for them.
I always enjoy the books this author creates and this one is no exception. At times it had quite a slow build but overall kept my interest and made me want to read more. This is only the second book of the series and I am looking forward to the next one.
Mya and Lance shared one magical night years ago. Chance brought them back together, or perhaps it was fate. Lance is a college professor as well as a best selling author who has set out to find some inspiration to write his second book. He chooses to spend some time in New Orleans to get some inspiration. His first day in town he is eating lunch in the French Quarter and who does he spot? He sees Mya. They begin to reconnect and eventually Mya reveals that one night they shared together all those years ago produced a daughter. Is this fate bringing them back together for happily ever after? Or is this life giving them some closure?
What happens when you run into your one night stand again? Mya runs into Lance and panics because she had been keeping a secret from him for years. Lance is in New Orleans to work on his next book and unexpectedly finds Mya. He still has feelings for her and the attraction hasn't subsided. He wants to get to know her again but she is hesitant because of her secret and not wanting to get her heart broken again. I really enjoyed the setting of the story and the professions of each character. Their journey to happiness was a great read! Hoping to get more from the side characters.
I’ve read several books by this author before so I picked this one up without hesitation. It was a sweet second-chance romance with plenty of adventure along the way. Lance and Mya have great chemistry, and the way the author creates the scenes with them is wonderful. It was a little slow going at times and the flow had a few hiccups, but it wasn’t anything too major. There were a couple of moments that I didn’t see coming as well! I was still able to enjoy this book and recommend picking it up if you’re wanting a sweet second-chance romance with angst and secrets throughout.
This book has a little of everything in it. I was hooked from the beginning. I absolutely loved the characters. It made me feel all the feels!
What happens when you run into your one night stand? Lance is in New Orleans to work on his next book and unexpectedly runs into Mya. He still has feelings for her and the attraction hasn't subsided. He wants to get to know her again but she’s kept a really big secret from him.
This book is full of surprises for the readers and for the main character. Imagine running into your one-night stand, realizing you have been hiding a BIG secret for years and yet, you are still very attracted to this man. This is one of the issues that Mia has discovered. This book is a romance with a couple different tropes interracial BWWM, age gap, secret child, single mom, second chance. The secondary characters in this book are screaming for their own stories though. They are fantastic back ground characters.
Secret baby, age gap, second chance...this book has it all and I am here for it!! The two main characters are great, but the daughter is the show stealer. The side characters are awesome. It's just a nicely written cast of characters, which is nice because so often you see the secondary characters thrown in almost as an afterthought, but that's not the case here. This was the first by this author for me, but it will definitely not be the last, I will be keeping an eye out for more to come and I highly recommend this one to anyone looking for a good read.
