Isabel thought she had everything under control when she secured an invitation to Ebonridge’s most elite—and dangerous—event, Latibulum Noctis. She was there for one to help her friend Valeria.
She had no idea she was walking straight into a trap.
When the Whitmore brothers kidnap her as part of a twisted ritual, she’s thrust into their web of lies, power, and deadly games.
Theodore, Maxwell, and Julian have always been focused on securing their futures, bound by the dark legacy of their family. But after the night the Whitmore estate went up in flames, they find themselves unable to let Isabel go.
What was meant to be a sacrifice becomes an obsession, a dangerous attraction neither side can deny.
Isabel hates them, seeing only the monsters in their eyes. But the more she learns, the more they worm their way under her skin. With every touch, every secret shared, the lines between captor and captive blur, and the lust that simmers between them becomes impossible to resist.
In a world of dark desire, pleasure, and betrayal, Isabel must decide how far she’s willing to fall—and how much she’s willing to lose—before the Whitmore adoptive brothers claim her completely.
Silent Oaths is a dark, why-choose romance with forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers tension, touch-her-and-die protectiveness, and morally grey antiheroes. Featuring a kidnapped heroine, secret societies, dangerous family legacies, and a slow-burn obsession, this book is perfect for readers who love high-stakes romance with betrayal, loyalty, and forbidden attraction.
Nouha Jullienne is a BIPOC, Canadian romance author crafting steamy, emotionally layered love stories, ranging from dark romance with morally grey antiheroes to contemporary slow burns. Since 2022, she’s published seven novels (with more on the way) about high-heat romance about powerful men and the women who won’t be tamed.
By day she works as a conference administrator; by night she crafts happily-ever-afters. A political science graduate, she traded dissertations for swoony chapters and never looked back. She lives in Canada’s capital with her husband and two daughters, and when she isn’t writing, she’s reading, storyboarding, or watching the next binge-worthy TV show.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️/5 📚 Book #2 in "The Whitmore Legacy Series"; Can be read as a Standalone but have heard reviews that recommend reading Book 1
Nouha is a first time author for me, and now I NEED to read more from her. I was hooked from the beginning, of this solid Dark [more lite gray for me] Why Choose with a Secret society trope...I am a sucker for secret society, and this was really well done. There were plenty of twists and turns for the Whitmore men, and while I did figure out the secret for Theodore, I definitely did not see the twist for Camila.
I am invested, and would really love to know how Isabel is tied into the founding families. I wonder if we will find that out in the next book 🤔. I really appreciated the flash backs to the boys when they were in the orphanage, it really gave me a better understanding of why they are the men they are and how deep their bond is.
Read this book if you like......
Tropes: * Blackmail * Taboo Romance * Slow Burn * They Fall First * Found Family * Secret Society * Why Choose [MMFM] * Captors/Captive * Breeding * Enemies to Lovers
🎧Narrated by Gregory Salinas, Sean Masters, JF Harding and Maxine Mitchell🎧
This audiobook was in full cast duet and it was soooo good. I don’t know what narrators played who but I’d listen to them all again plus this is the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to with a woman narrator.
First thing. There is a book before this one that is FF and I didn’t read it but I think I should have because shit happened that wasn’t fully explained in this one. I understood enough that I enjoyed the book but I just have a feeling I would have had a better world building experience had I read it.
I am a whore for a good secret society book and I’ve been eyeing this series since last year when a chick on insta who reads dark romance recc’d it so when the audio was $3 during Audible’s big sale I grabbed it. All I knew going in was that there was a pair of boyfriends and if I’m going to pick up why choose I need that element to even be interested. Those boyfriends were my favorite characters in the book but this had a kick ass heroine and another MC who was badass in his own way.
I will say that the love confessions between two of the characters made me cringe due to how corny it felt but I had a hard time putting this book down and chapters 31 & 32 will live rent free in my head for awhile. 🥵
Wow, what a ride this book was! I found it super entertaining and couldn't put it down, finishing it in just under three hours. The fast pace kept me engaged, and the mystery had me guessing the whole time. The spice doesn't kick in until about halfway through, but when it does, wow, it’s like a firestorm! I also appreciated that there was a solid plot alongside all the excitement. The secrets that kept unfolding kept me hooked from beginning to end.
This story features three MMCs, and each one is uniquely interesting. Theo is the leader—the one in charge and fiercely protective of those he loves. Maxwell is a bit wild and loves to play with knives, but he’s also charming and thrives on attention. Then there’s Julian, who is quieter and reserved. He prefers to stay in the background but is very thoughtful and sweet. Isabel, our main female character, is strong, fiery, and independent. She’s on a mission to uncover the secrets of the Whitmore family, and I admired her fearless attitude—she never backs down from a challenge and isn’t intimidated by the three men at all!
I loved seeing how each of them has a different connection with her and how they each express their love in unique ways. Julian and Maxwell’s relationship was especially heartwarming; it was great to see them find love and comfort in one another. Overall, this book was such a fun and quick read. The plot, spice, intriguing characters, and mystery made for an enjoyable experience. If you're in the mood for something spicy but with a good storyline, I recommend picking this one up!
Thank you Nouha for the ARC !!! Congrats on your newest book 🥺 !!
This is book 2 in The Whitmore Legacy Series and it was such a great, fast paced read ! I absolutely loved all 3 MMCs. Each one had such distinct personalities, but the way they showed their loved to Isabel 😭 I was obsessed !!
I will say I was IN LOVE with Juju but he and Maxwell completely stole my heart !! They were so cute together, and their bond added such a soft and emotional layer to the story that I didn’t even know I needed. I found myself re-reading some of their scenes just because they made me smile so much.
After devouring Mourning Wings, I was ready to see what Isabel's story would be with the 3 brothers! I love me a why choose and I love it even more when we get some sword crossing!! This was definitely spicy and fun to read, with some mystery as they delve into past records of their families. I love how each of them add something unique to their relationship and they just fit so perfectly together in the end!
Audiobook: This audiobook is pure perfection and I loved listening to every minute of it! Narrated in duet with a full cast including Maxine Mitchell, JF Harding, Sean Masters, and Gregory Salinas. All 4 of these amazing narrators brought this story to life and really did it justice! Would 10/10 recommend this audio!
Read if you enjoy: 🖤 Why choose & MMFM 🖤 Enemies to lovers 🖤 Blackmail romance 🖤 Forced proximity 🖤 Touch her and die 🖤 Secret society 🖤 Breeding kink
Thank you so much to Nouha Jullienne and Luna Literary Management for letting me read and review an ARC in exchange for my honest review! And Thank you to Blue Nose Audio for letting me listen to an ALC of this!
“I can’t help but crave it. Crave them.” He’s a murderrrr, but he’s cute… It’s like hide & seek, but 3 dark mysterious masked men are chasing you & you want to be found & locked away for months in their mansion….This is why I have issues. Seriously I was clutching pearls reading this. The spice was piping hot🌶️ but it was also a really great plot, with so many secrets & a mystery they were trying to uncover throughout. Each of the MMC’s are so different & Isabel affected them each in such deeper, emotional ways. And can I just say Julian & Maxwell’s relationship is everything & then add Isabel to it🥵 Yep that’s all I’ll say, do with that what you will.
I NEED MORE!!!!!!! This book has all my fav tropes [reverse harem, captive to queen, tamed monsters, emotionally gray men, tattoos, knife kink, secret society,...] Even though I typically don’t invest in trilogies, I would have happy explored a deeper world.
The plot doesn’t push too far into extreme territory, making it a perfect entry point for readers new to dark romance.
The story is easy to follow. The characters are distinct and compelling, especially Julian and Maxwell, whose backstories and connections deserve more space. The glimpse into Maxwell’s club, for instance, felt like a teaser for something much grander. And the blend of angst, fear, and intimacy will you crave more. After such a high-stakes, emotionally intense buildup, the conflict wraps up a little too quickly and neatly. If you don't like angsty books. This is perfect for you.
𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Isabel performed by Maxine Mitchell Theodore performed by Sean Masters Maxwell performed by JF Harding Julian performd by Gregory Salinas
One word: WOW
The narration was incredibly smooth—every scene flowed effortlessly, and each character was narrated splendidly, with distinct emotional depth. I could hear the tension, fear, desire, and pain in every line. The three men were completely distinctive, not just in personality but in the way their perspectives were written:
Theodore was calculating and commanding, his voice sharp with control.
Julian felt quieter, more intimate, and emotionally complex.
Maxwell radiated chaotic charm with a dangerous edge.
Their individuality never blurred, making the multi-POV narrative deeply immersive.
Isabel was voiced well too. Feminine, sassy with a hint of edgy.
I was given the opportunity to read this as an ARC in return for an honest review:) (i am SO SO SO SO sorry it is late!)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5
☆ Why Choose (MMFM, MM, MF) ☆ Mafia Ties ☆ Sassy/Feisty FMC ☆ Three (adoptive) brothers ☆ Enemies-to-lovers ☆ Captive Romance ☆ Secret Society ~~~~~~~ I loved this book so much! This whole series is amazing! You must read Mourning Wings to understand this book, but this is a standalone. There were so many twists and turns and so many great aspects. I love the why choose trope so much, because it's like why are they all hot? And how on earth did she find someone, let alone THREE SOMEONES, to love her?? To be obsessed with her?? LIke it makes zero sense. Im bi-sexual but really im bi-myself. Sorry to project, ANYWAY LMAO! I seriously loved the why choose aspect so so much again, and I think it was beautifully done! The story was wonderful and edge-of-my-seat type of suspense. There's a lot of mystery, (again) suspense, and just such a good plot! The secret society aspect was wild, and I love the ending. The descriptive language was incredible and lets just say I actually knew where people were and how they were doing...things... LMAO
The characters were so unique and different. Theo, Max, and Julian were just the best! It takes a lot of work to make such different characters and Nouha did an amazing job at it. Its impressive. One being intense and harsh (yet loving and reluctantly so hehe), one being kind and gentle, and the other just being a menace to society. Julian was a sweetheart and just such a big cutiepie. He was gentle and called Isabel the SWEETEST nickname! OH THEY ALSO HAD THEIR OWN NICKNAMES FOR ISABEL! Maxwell was a joker. He was funny, always smirking, and probably should have been in a mental asylum at some points, but over all he wasn't just comedic relief, he was sweet and kind to Isabel. Even if they did kidnap her lmao. And Theo, he was the brute and the "leader" of the pack. He was so well crafted and just so insane with Isabel. There were times where my jaw was on the floor and the way that they acted with each other was just amazing! All three of them were incredibly created and Isabel was awesome too! She was feisty and was not easy to break. They were all just amazing.
THE SPICE WAS SPICY. There were elements of MM sexual content, MFMM content, and a lot of other elements that were just *chefs kiss*! Although it was kind of taboo with the whole adoptive brothers thing, I think that it was important to realize that they saw each other as best friends with the same last name. No blood relation, but they were loyal to each other and they were friends. I personally do not like the taboo books with sibling aspects, but this one was done in a way that I really enjoyed! (no hate to those who read taboo, don't get me wrong, Little Stranger was GOOD!) But seriously, so so spicy! There were about 7 open door scenes, and there were some scenes with MF, MFM, and MFMM. All incredibly written!
Thank you so much Nouha for allowing me the opportunity to read this book and I can't wait to read more of the Whitmore Legacy if there will be any more!!

This books is a super spicy why choose dripping with secrets and lies. Three foster brothers determined to root out the lies and corruption now that they are at the top. Groomed to take over the horrible traditions but knowing they can bring all the lies and corruption to light with the right information.
Isabella has been searching for information on her birth family for a long time. She found a clue that led her into the bathroom of the Whitmore boys. She never expected they would be her damnation and salvation wrapped into each other.
Each of the brothers are unique and have their own quirks and kinks. They also each find something they have been missing in their captive. Even though she fights them at every turn.
Together these 4 will give you all the spice and a bunch of justice.
I really love the relationship between Julian and Maxwell and how much Isabella loves it too. The scene after her nightmare is so hot.
For reference I did not read book one as I'm not about FF relationships.
Story Vibes: The story vibes for this one are on point! From enemies to lovers to why choose and slow burning sizzle, this one ticked all my boxes and then some!
Audiobook Vibes: Full cast duet narrations from some amazing voice talents! 𝑀𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑀𝑖𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙, 𝐽𝐹 𝐻𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑆𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠 & 𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑜𝑟𝑦 𝑆𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑠 absolutely brought this story to life! They nailed the chemistry between the men and their woman, they nailed the intensity of the story, they just mastered it epically! Such great voices and choices to breathe life into this captivating characters!
Overall Vibes: 𝙽𝚘𝚞𝚑𝚊 𝙹𝚞𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚎 has definitely created a long lasting fan in me! From start to finish, this story held me captive. It's a story filled with twists, turns, secrets and oh so much passion! I loved watching these men fall....and fall 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙.....for Isabel. I absolutely swooned hard for Julian & Maxwell's romance on top of everything else I couldn't get enough of! I am definitely going to go back for more with book 1 and can't wait for another amazing story from this incredibly talented author!
when isabel gets kidnapped by 3 men and lands herself into a mess of a power struggle by the whitmores, she has the choice to be the difference they make as they unravel family secrets and lies and deceptions!
i haven’t read a why choose romance in so long and i literally fell in love with the characters and also seeing characters from the previous book in the series! i can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next and i need more already!
This audiobook took me from hoping it was going to be good to I'M FERAL for this story! Our Narrators Maxine Mitchell, Sean Masters, JF Harding and Gregory Salinas made this story sooo much better than I ever thought could happen. Our narrators really took this performance serious and it truly showed in their performance.
I absolutely ATE this audiobook SO QUICK ⚠️. I couldn't barely take myself away from this audiobook once I started it. I couldn't NOT know what was going to happen next with Isabel.
The Whitmore Boys definitely had their way of doing things. I appreciated their way of doing things. They made sure that there was no collateral when it came to taking care of business. Isabel was the one that wasn't supposed to make it to where she was. But she refused to let anyone tell her what to do. She definitely fought for what she wanted, even if at times it felt futile.
These three men refused to do what their father wanted forever, so they made their world their own. They took their world and made it what they wanted.
These 4 definitely had a dynamic that couldn't work for many. But it fit them so well! They each came to know each other and their needs.
I absolutely love a WHY CHOOSE moment and this was no different. I enjoyed this and seeing how their dynamic is set up!
🔥 Let's Talk About Sex Baby 🥵: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 /5
Thank you so much to Nouha Jullienne and Blue Nose Audio for the free copy 🫶🏻. All opinions are my own, honest and voluntary.
“Tonight, leave your inhibitions at the door and enter with an open mind. I promise we’ll show you a good time.”
“A siren luring monsters with a mouth to pretty for prayers and a body built to be bred.”
I have absolutely no words!
This had all the ingredients and felt like eating a warm cookie out of the oven. That turned out perfect crispy on the outside soft on the inside with melting chocolate chips on top.
I was hooked in from the first minute. They all have this alluring something about them. The plot is plotting, the spice is spicing and the twist was twisting! Had me at the edge of my seat. I didn’t know if I wanted to keep going so I knew how it ended or take my time and savour it because it did not want to let go of them for the life of me.
The men?! I was kicking my feet screaming and giggling giving me all the tingly butterflies. And the nicknames!! You guys🥹 Siren, Starling and Corazon?! MELTING
Also I have MAD RESPECT FOR ISABEL. Because i would’ve folded the minute they told me to run in the woods and I was caught. Like forget the hide and seek, chain me up and take me back to your mansion sirs.
“You feel it don’t you?” I whisper. “The need to fight but the urge to give in. It’s intoxicating, isn’t it, Siren?”
Thank you so so much to Nouha Juilienne for this ARC (and hearing me ramble about the book and letting me spit all my feels on you while reading this book! I can’t wait to hear the audio and have matching voices to the characters.
I was given an ALC of Silent Oaths and came out of it not sure how to feel. I was excited to dive in, and didn't want to set it down chapter after chapter. The characters were compelling, though potentially, this one was toeing the line for me of unconvinced by the end.
If kidnapping and morally black is your game certainly come this way. This had a kind of thriller energy about it. I was gripped by the story enough so, that by the time I reached the end I went back and re-read pieces to see if a second look might help solidify the tension in my gut feelings. I really wanted to love the story.
Overall, I don't know if this read resonated to me. In fairness to Nouha, I think we know by now degredation isn't really my jam so that's on me and certainly could have been where I began to get lost.
If you pick this one up I would love to know what you think!
They stole my heart, Theo was their protector, Max was the wild one, and Julian was the sweetest. They all had their qualities, but they were all equally amazing. I loved them all the same.
Maxwell and Julian were perfection. Julian knew how to calm Max and give him what he needed exactly when he needed it. I loved their bond.
They all looked out for each other, and they fell hard for Isabel. Isabel was strong and feisty. She was lucky. She found a home and unconditional love with them.
The spice was so good, I loved it when they chased her at the end!!
Audiobook Review...
I loved the audio!! Maxine, Gregory, JF Harding and Sean all did an amazing job.
I felt everything in their narration, Harding was fantastic, the flashbacks with Vico were so well done. Same with Gregory and the letters.
I loved Sean and Maxine together, they really brought out the tension between Isabel and Theo. I had an amazing time listening to the audio. It was absolutely perfect 👌
This wasn’t just spicy.....it was raw. Tense. Unapologetically dark, but also deeply human in its exploration of survival, identity, and chosen connection.
Silent Oaths gripped me harder than I expected. Not just because of the taboo dynamics (which, yes—were executed deliciously well), but because Isabel’s journey felt like walking a tightrope between pain and power. She’s not just strong, she’s stubbornly alive in a world that keeps trying to silence her. And the Whitemore brothers? They’re violent, haunted, and terrifyingly loyal… in that “you’ll never escape me, but I’d destroy the world to keep you safe” kind of way. 💀🖤
I wrestled with this book in a good way. With the blurred lines. The grief. The desire that felt more like hunger. And somehow, it all came together in a way that made me root for these four broken, feral people trying to build something out of ashes.
Unexpected standouts: Maxwell’s morally-unhinged softness That one quiet scene in the woods (you’ll know) Isabel choosing herself, again and again, even when it hurt
Yes, its spicy some scenes level 5, but there’s also pain, guilt, and a love that isn’t pretty but it is honest. Nouha, as a newer author for me if this is the chaos you bring, I’ll follow it every time. Thank you and Luna Literary for the ARC, this one burned. And I liked it. 😈
*I received an arc copy in exchange for an honest review*

What an experience! This audiobook didn’t just deliver—it devoured me whole. The performance by the narrators? Phenomenal. Maxine, Sean, JF Harding, and Gregory brought every emotion, secret, and moment of spice to life in the most immersive way possible. It truly felt like a luxury audio experience!
Now let’s talk about the story itself—it’s dark, twisted, and definitely not for the faint of heart. I can see why readers might have mixed feelings about it, but not me - I loved every second of it!!
Isabel is the kind of FMC I live for—badass, strong, but with just enough vulnerability to make her feel raw and real. And don’t even get me started on Theo, Max, and Julian. Just chef’s kiss. The dynamic between them? Explosive. 🔥
This book is a wild mix of survival, secrets, and spice—and when paired with the stellar narration, it's an experience you feel.🎧
Thank you for the ARC opportunity Nouha Julienne and Luna Literary. I loved this story - so dark but so good.
If you like a dark romance, with loads of backstory, mystery and complex relationships this is the one for you. The tropes are done so well. The MMCs are full of red flags, they kidnap the FMC, force their ways into her life and refuse to let her by free. The book is the definition of a dark forced proximity romance and it’s perfect!!!
The relationships in this book are explored so well. There is real depth to them including the relationships between the MMCs. I loved the story between Maxwell and Julian, two of the MMCs. This book is a reverse harem story but there is greater depth to it than simply the MMCs all love the FMCs. That’s true but there is more to it than that - each person brings and needs something different from the relationship.
This is a perfect book if you like a dark relationship which has a large amount of depth, dynamics and plot to go with it.
Isabel, Theodore, Julian and Maxwell had such a wonderful ending to their story, but their beginning was so dang intense and thrilling. These characters all have such sad backstories and seeing how they all fit together holy moly. I loved how each of them had a different relationship with Isabel and how strongly she fought it for so long. It was a long battle but none of them gave up on her and seeing them all work together to get to a the bottom of all the stuff going on in their town.
This book had me in a chokehold—like, I'm still gasping. It hit all my favorite tropes and introduced me to some new obsessions. We’ve got enemies to lovers, secret societies, touch her and die (my ultimate fave), and a little “why choose” moment… just to name a few. There are so many secrets and lies that need to be uncovered, and once you do—I promise your mind will be blown.
Isabel is a girl’s girl, doing whatever it takes to help her bestie, Valeria (which, FYI, is exactly how she ends up tangled with the Whitmore brothers).
And the Whitmore brothers? Ugh. Kidnap me, I’m begging. But Julian? He’s my favorite golden retriever MMC now—the way he took care of Isabel hit that perfect mix of soft and savage—chef’s kiss.
An absolute incredible storytelling experience! One of the most memorable full cast duet performances I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.. and the story…..simply Riveting, it felt like a whole movie and I absolutely love it! Nouha Jullienne Author new to me got me hooked.
5:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️incredible story! 4:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ worth it 10/10 :🎙️🎧 amazing riveting performances!
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW Silent Oaths: A Dark Why Choose Romance (The Whitmore Legacy Series) by: Nouha Jullienne Presented by BNA Performed in full cast Duet Maxine Mitchell/ Sean Masters/ JF Harding/ Gregory Salinas
🖤++++++🖤++++++🖤++++++🖤 You’re just another Sacrifice
Theodore, Maxwell, Julian Whitmore and Isabel story
Isabel Has no idea what she was getting herself into when she agreed to help her friend snuck into the dangerous event, Latibulum Noctis. She could never imagine that the night would end with her being taken by three monsters: and was thrust into a world of lies, power and deadly games, a twisted ritual of which she would never have imagined possible.
Theodore, Maxwell, Julian Whitmore These three brothers sought Power .. they sought to claim their legacy….after time spent trying to figure out Their ties to the Whitmore family……they crave the power and the Truth. But in order to get it, they devised a plan with the lovely Isabel who caught their attention..… she’s a pawn they thought they could use to their own advantage. So taking her was the plan but keeping her.. well..it goes way beyond their control and what they originally planned.
🖤******☠️******🖤 Each of these brothers are unique in their own ways, but the bond between them is unmatched..ever since their younger years…so it’s no surprise when they’re all drawn to Isabel Soto in unison. THEO The leader, the one who seemed more hardened and unemotional, with a controlled darkness. But underneath cares more for those he loves. His darkness is one of dominance. JULIAN The quiet yet unassuming and caring person with a dark past of loss and a quiet strength. His vulnerability is hard to miss. MAXWELL the outgoing charismatic of the three brothers, who underneath is darkness runs deep, almost psychotic.
She too, also found herself drawn to each of these men in some inexplicable ways, as lines between them began to blur and get heavy, dark desires between the captors and the captive are acted on and none of them could ever fathom the outcome while they each sought the truth about the dark sinful sinister happenings at the estate and where they all fit in the world of darkness and secrets that is their legacy, Or Will these adoptive brothers claim her as their own after all is done.
Listennnn…. This was my first book by the author and Im well and truly hooked even though I went in blind, and the narrators in this book.. unbelievably amazing!
The storyline this author writes is just so good especially the bond between the guys and the incredible love story Max and Julian have.
Performed in full cast Duet narration Maxine Mitchell, Sean Masters, JF Harding and Gregory Salinas Were wickedly good I was hooked and I loved every moment they each performed poignantly in this multi cast audiobook story, one connecting the characters with each other and highlighting each of their roles, pain and emotions, it was incredible! They were all a Perfect blend of talent.
Definitely recommend listening to this intriguing audiobook story!

If you love your romance dark, messy, and morally gray with a side of secret societies and emotionally unhinged men—you need this book in your life.
Silent Oaths pulled me in from the first chapter and didn’t let go. Isabel thinks she’s crashing an elite, dangerous party to help a friend—but what she actually walks into is a trap wrapped in shadows and obsession. The Whitmore brothers—Theodore, Julian, and Maxwell—don’t just kidnap her, they claim her. And not just physically. Emotionally. Psychologically. Spiritually. And in ways that are equal parts terrifying and addictive.
This is a why-choose (MMFM) romance, and the tension is unreal. There’s forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers angst, and a deeply twisted captor/captive dynamic that morphs into something so much more complex. Isabel doesn’t go down easy—she’s fierce, mouthy, and constantly fighting, even as the lines between hate, fear, and desire begin to blur.
Each of the brothers is distinct: • Theodore is the calculating one, always in control—until he’s not. • Maxwell is volatile and passionate, all sharp edges and fire. • Julian? My emotional support monster. Quiet, wounded, dangerous. I was not prepared for his chapters and I felt everything.
Their bond with Isabel isn’t immediate—it’s a slow-burn, laced with distrust, obsession, reluctant attraction, and eventually something that starts to feel like love, even if it shouldn’t.
The spice? It’s dark, creative, and intense, but it never feels gratuitous. There’s genuine emotional weight behind it. (Also: breeding kink, touch-her-and-die vibes, and one hell of a primal chase scene that lives in my head rent-free.)
But don’t be fooled—this story isn’t just about heat. There’s a layered mystery unraveling beneath the romance: a powerful, secret society hiding generations of abuse, betrayal, and blood oaths. The brothers are trying to dismantle the legacy that made them, while Isabel’s forced to question whether she’s their pawn or their equal.
Tropes & Themes You’ll Find: • Why-Choose (MMFM) • Captor/Captive • Enemies to Lovers • Found Family (but make it dark) • Secret Societies & Cult Rituals • Damaged Heroes • Morally Gray Obsession • Forbidden Desire • Protective/Unhinged MMCs • Dark Romance (check TWs!) • HEA
There were a few places where I wished for more background—especially on Isabel’s past—but overall, the emotional payoff and rich tension between all four characters made up for it. If you read Mourning Wings (a sapphic prequel novella), some elements will hit even harder, especially Isabel’s connection to Valeria.
Bottom line: Silent Oaths kidnapped me like Isabel and whispered filthy things in Spanish while unraveling my soul. It’s intense, messy, and absolutely addicting.
Please note: This is a dark romance. Read the trigger warnings—seriously. It includes themes of captivity, manipulation, emotional trauma, and dubcon.
Thank you to Nouha Jullienne and Luna Literary for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Isabel is on a fact finding mission with her best friend Valeria to uncover the secrets of the Whitmore family, however she’s caught the attention of the three Whitmore sons - Theodore, Maxwell and Julian.
As their father Lionel plays his macabre games, part of a long standing tradition within the Whitmore family, Theodore, Maxwell and Julian become enamoured by the mysterious beauty, a siren singing her song, getting close to uncovering truths they themselves plan to uncover, yet they draw Isabel into their dark and twisted world, a world if they’re not careful could swallow them whole.
Isabel is a spitfire, she has a fearless attitude, strong fiery and independent, she never backs down from a challenge and isn’t easily intimidated by the three men at all, except her mouth tends to put her in positions that ignite feelings of intrigue, yet Theodore’s obsession knows no bounds and the foreplay between all three burning deeper, the deep seeded need inside of them to claim her reaches a crescendo that they didn’t anticipate, because one thing is certain, she belongs to them and they’re not letting her go.
As they dig deeper into the Whitmore family history, everything begins to unravel, and as they begin connecting the facts, it leads to a startling revelation that solidifies the bond between Theodore, Maxwell and Julian in a way they didn’t expect, betrayal within their own family leading them to making a decision that frees them from the ties that bind, paving the way for a future in their image - Theodore, Maxwell and Julian reigning their way.
The backstory of our MMC’s is not only unique but interesting. They’ve only ever had to rely on each other. The character development and growth they go through speaks to Isabel in a way that makes her sympathetic towards them as she herself has unanswered questions about who her own family is. There understanding bringing them together.
Theodore, Maxwell and Julian each develop a different connection with Isabel. She unsettles and unnerves them in the best of ways and they wouldn’t have it any other way. She brings out another side of them, the best and worst, which allows them to express their love for her in their way. Because knowing her, what she likes, dislikes, her habits, what makes her happy, makes them happy, and that is something they don’t intend to stop doing.
This book definitely had most of my favourite tropes and kinks, cause the spice was absolutely spicy. Those smexy scenes were primal, carnal, sinfully wicked, hot, steamy, dirty, deliciously dark and depraved. The way Theodore loved his siren, Maxwell and Julian loving on each other and on their Starling and Coraźon, they all definitely knew how to give as good as they got, each meeting their match with their girl who loves it hard, rough and dirty, just like them
Highly recommend both the author and the book. Looking forward to reading what this author writes next.
I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.
This was a super solid read and I struggled with how to rate it because the writing was great, the overall plot line great, there just wasn't enough book!
I struggled with the first few chapters because it felt like they were trying to align with the prequel (which was amazing). I don't know if my perception would have differed if I had read this first and then read that to fill in the blanks? Unfortunately, I read that and felt like this was trying to ensure there were no errors between the two. As a result, it just didn't flow organically for me.
All of the guys had their own dynamic with her (as to be expected). I loved her relationship with Julian and Maxwell, probably more than her and Theo. Theo needed her like she was essential to him and you really got the sense that for him, it was the two of them with the other guys having permission to be involved. Due to Julian and Maxwell's dynamic, sometimes I felt like there were two different relationships going on with her being a participant in both.
This definitely needed to be longer, at least a duet. I would have liked to see the relationships develop and grow more through plot and dialogue. There were time lapses and obviously there were changes and developments in the relationships during those times, but I would have loved to see that. Along the same vein, her internal struggle at being with the guys felt real. I liked that she didn't just acquiesce to them after a week or two as can be common with the kidnapping trope.
I would have liked more with regards to the "secret society" (that's what I'm calling it). Its been going on for generations and we get some answers as to why but I wanted to see more. Just more!
I loved the plot twist 7/8th of the way through, but we are still left with a lot of questions. There were also no new characters introduced to continue with. I'm left wanting.
For every plot and subplot point, I would have liked more development.
Since we are left with some open ended questions with regards to Isabel's past, I'm hoping there is a continuation in some manner.
So, in rating this. It is a 3 star read for me, what made me edge it up to 4 was simply the fact that I wanted more out of it which means the bones of the story are solid and it just feels like a whole additional book would have allowed for development I felt these characters deserved.
