Noah

I need a fresh start and Foggy Basin, California, is the perfect place to begin my new life. The accepting small-town is such a contrast to the city I came from. Making a success of my dog training business, Tricks, Tips, and Backflips, is important to me, and I totally lucked out when my straight best friend, Christian, decided to move with me. He makes my life easier. I just hope he'll be as happy here as I am.

Christian

Following my best friend to Foggy Basin was a no-brainer. I’ve been in love with him since we were five years old. Problem is, I've never had the guts to say so and while he's out and proud, I'm still in the closet. Somehow, I need to find the courage to make a move before he finds someone else in this gay-friendly town, but Noah thinks I'm straight and I'm not sure what he'll do when I tell him..

Welcome to Foggy Basin Season Two. Just passing through? No problem. Here to stay, well, better find your place. Sit back, relax and get to know the townsfolk. They love hard and play even harder. Each book is a standalone but why not stay and get to know us and read them all?

FINDING NOAH by Gabbi Grey is part of the multi-author Foggy Basin Season Two series. Noah Gainey is more than ready for a fresh start and the small town of Foggy Basin, California, beckons. Christian Carter, his best friend, is more than happy to accompany him. The small town is welcoming and Noah seems to have no lack of interest for his dog training services. If Christian can just muster the courage to let Noah know that the feelings he's got for him aren't just platonic...

Gabbi Grey's story is a sweet read, as Christian and Noah fall in love with Foggy Basin, and eventually realize that extends not just to their new hometown. Friends to lovers for the win!

Gabbi Grey is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Whether with characters in towns in British Columbia or California, or anywhere else she might choose, the world building draws me into welcoming communities I would love to visit, and characters I would embrace as friends without hesitation. The stories are pretty low angst, but there are problems, usually solved through communication between the partners, often with pets involved and a special circle of close friends.
Noah and Christian are no exception, best friends since they were kids almost twenty years ago, the rock each can lean on. Noah is gay, Christian is deep in the closet, and Christian has been in love with Noah for more than a decade. He hasn’t said anything, just sitting on the sidelines, supporting his friend through a series of bad boyfriends and breakups. After Noah’s last boyfriend cheated on him, the two leave their home town for Foggy Basin, a town which calls to Noah as a place to build a new life. There, they quickly settle in, Noah starting his dog training business, adopting three dogs, and building a new life away from families. When Christian confesses to Noah that he is in love with him, Noah’s whole world tilts as he tries to accept how things might change if he allows himself to consider Christian in a new light.
These romances are sweet and emotional, with a HEA in the foreseeable future, often with little quirks and glitches along the way, but reaching the same conclusion when all is said and done. I find them to be fast reads as I immerse myself into the characters and whatever world they inhabit, as they face realistic situations on their way to their forever person. I always finish with a smile on my face and a sense of satisfaction at another couple on their way to forever. If you like feel-good reads, I can recommend any of Gabbi’s books to get that feeling.

Oh how I love Foggy Basin, especially the fact that there doesn't seem to have been much actual fog there. In this story it could perhaps be said one or two of the characters might be struggling with brain fog, not being able to see what has been right in front of them for years! However Foggy Basin is a beautiful place, welcoming and friendly, a homely place without judgement filled with love.

When Noah receives some photos proving to him that his fiance is cheating he knows there is only one person he can talk to. His best friend, Christian. When Christian asks Noah what he wants to do the answer is simple. Move away, to Foggy Basin, a place he has read about, start his dog training business, the one he has been dreaming about having. For Christian there is no hesitation, he will go too, they will find a place to live, he will support Noah in setting up his business and find himself some work. They have been best friends since they were five, Christian has been in love with Noah almost all that time, he dislikes his family, his role in the family business, he has plenty of money set aside, he will go too.

Noah is out and proud. Christian isn't, has never even hinted at being. He is also completely inexperienced in relationships, in real hard work, but that is not going to stop him from being there with Noah, supporting him, working hard. He is struggling to admit his truth, even when they go on a double date and their dates leave, without them. Even though everyone assumes they are already a couple. And then, when he does admit it, Noah isn't quite convinced so Christian does what he does best, he is patient but persistent...

An utterly beautiful, charming story with plenty of light-hearted, even some self-deprecating humour. There are a few familiar faces, lots of new ones and the most adorable doggies. The romance is a slow burn exploration and I was completely besotted from the outset!

Noah receives photos with undeniable proof his boyfriend is cheating on him. At the same time, his best friend, Christian’s, fiancée has run off with another man. Neither has much reason to stay where they are, so they leave Tennessee for Foggy Basin, California! For Noah, it’s an opportunity to start the dog-training business he’s always wanted; for Christian, it’s an opportunity to escape the pressure of expectations from his family and his community, and maybe a chance to let Noah know about his decades-long love for him.

In Foggy Basin, they quickly lease a house, and begin making connections that lead to rescuing a dog – and several clients for Noah’s fledgling company. Christian takes a job at the grocery store, stocking and occasionally running the cash register. Everywhere they go, Noah and Christian are mistaken for a couple. Noah keeps correcting people saying that while he’s gay, Christian is straight.

There are several hilarious encounters – like a double date where their dates leave without them – until Noah catches a clue that Christian might actually be into him. I’m guessing that several other characters may have their own stories in this shared community series, all set in the same community with books by different authors. Honestly, I’ve loved several such shared community series over the years. Now that I know this one exists, I want to go read the first season’s books!.

This was a mellow story, soft, like a warm breeze in spring. The misunderstandings are there, the miscommunication is there, the fear and need for healing are there but the friendship between Noah and Christian is so strong, so beautiful, so solid, that all of that is of no importance, because you know they’ll be okay. I’m not saying that it isn’t interesting, all I’m saying is that their love and respect for each other is so strong, you know nothing can break them apart. It’s a really nice book to sit back and relax with. And the whole community is so accepting and amazing, is like going home. I’ve read many books that have similar themes, and you want to shout at the characters because they’re so dense and blind! But not this story. They need to heal, they need time to find themselves and each other. This is an unfolding love story, with an almost inevitable ending, and it’s a beautiful journey. I’ve read many books by Gabbi Grey, and when I saw the ARC opportunity, I grabbed it, and I leave my voluntary review. This book was an oasis in the middle of a tumultuous time for me, a breath of fresh air, and I greatly appreciated the calm it brought, the strong love and amazing friendships it portrayed. I’m glad I got a chance to read it.

This book is part of the multi-author series Foggy Basin Season Two. Each book is a standalone read. This is the story of Noah Gainey and Christian Carter. Needing a fresh start, Noah decides to move to Foggy Basin and start up his dream dog-training business—Tricks, Tips, and Backflips. To help him achieve that success, his best friend since childhood, Christian agrees to move with him. Noah is out and proud and happy his straight best friend is moving with him. The only problem is that Christian is not straight, he's just deep in the closet. He is also strongly in love with Noah. Now all he needs to do is muster up the courage to tell him before someone else in the new town recognizes what a prize Noah is. This is their story. Whenever you up-end someone's life, there are bound to be a few bumps along the road. Good thing Noah and Christian have the ever helpful (nosy) neighbors to help guide them through the bumps. The book is written well and is easy to read. It is a fun story to read. I enjoyed it.

Noah and Christian have been best friends since they were small, always looking out for the other so when Noah is shown proof his boyfriend is cheating on him Christian is there for him. Christian asks Noah what he would do if he could do anything and then sets out to make that dream a reality. Moving to Foggy Basin with Christian and starting a dog training business, Noah has his hands full but still tries to set his best friend up with women to try to make him happy, not realising Christian is gay and in love with him. Both men have had lives that make it hard for them to accept their worth or the love of the other but if they manage to get it together they could make the other very happy.

This book also includes lots of adorable puppies and a few cats to make you smile.

Noah is excited to begin a new life in the accepting town of Foggy Basin, California, where he plans to grow his dog-training business. He's happy to have his best friend Christian with him, unaware of the feelings Christian has for him. Christian has secretly been in love with Noah since they were children. He follows Noah to the new town, hoping to finally confess his feelings. He's worried that Noah, who thinks he's straight, will find someone else in their gay-friendly town before he can find the courage to tell the truth.

I loved this small-town, friends-to-lovers story with all of the various critters. They had a great friendship and it was strange how Noah was so oblivious to Christian's feelings for him and found it so hard to accept which felt quite insulting. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Noah is sent pictures of his boyfriend cheating on him so he calls his best friend Christian and they talk they decide to leave town. Christian’s parents are terrible people and Noah’s mother is a flake. They rent a house from a nice older lady that is going into a home but doesn’t want her house to sit empty. Noah starts his dog training business and Christian is working as a stocker and cashier for a small grocery store. They visit their landlady some plus rescue three dogs and two cats. Noah’s business is doing great and then Christian tells Noah how he feels about Noah they take their time giving into their feelings.

ARC review.
I love Foggy Basin and I'm definitely here to stay. Noah and Christian are such an interesting couple. The way some people, Noah, is just plain ignorant about his best friends feelings is kind of hilarious. Sometimes the truth is difficult to see if it's a little to close to the heart.
After skipping their hometown and moving across several states to settle down in a small-town they now live together, first as friends and then as partners. Here they can live their happy comfortable life with a menagerie of animals, choosen friends and family and each other.
A very sweet, fun, delightful read that will keep you occupied for a few hours.

Smudge & Haggis, Delft china pattern, T-R-E-A-T-S, seal lynx point, CRT, tacos, peach flambé, no to cold pancakes

Like the rest of the books in the 'Foggy Basin', this is also great. Noah & Christian are sweet and make an adorable couple. They best friends even if Noah is gay and Christian is "straight". Both MCs uprooted from TN to Foggy Basin, CA. Noah wants to escape his cheating ex and the life where he's seemingly unwanted. Being best friends, Christian tells Noah he will follow Noah. Christian wants to leave because of the mess of his parents. Noah chooses Foggy Basin.

The story is captivating and enjoyable. I enjoyed myself. Recommended.

I loved reading this very sweet romance by Gabbi Grey. I enjoy books with dogs and this one has Noah starting a dog training business in Foggy Basin. Noah wants to leave Tennessee to get away from his cheating ex-boyfriend. His best friend, Christian, moves with Noah because he has his own reasons to leave Tennessee and because he’s in love with Noah. This story captivated me and I loved their landlady, Miss Esmeralda. Gabbi’s writing is always so richly descriptive; it makes me want to visit all of the places she writes about.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

'A grin split my face at the idea of doing all those firsts with Noah. Because as much as I saw him as my best friend, I also wanted so much more— intimacy, caring, and affection. I wanted him to love me the way I loved him.'

I loved this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I absolutely loved both Noah and Christian. They were completely adorable together. I loved the strong bond between them. While Noah may be out, Christian is still in the closet and has kept his feelings for Noah secret for years- until he doesn't. I loved how that conversation went.

This was such a sweet romance. 5 stars

This is another good addition to the multi author Foggy Basin series two set, this is best friends Noah and Christian’s story as they move to Foggy Basin for a fresh start, we find out Christian went with Noah to Foggy Basin because he’s secretly been in love with him for years but is in the closet but now with being in such a LGBT friendly town he knows if he doesn’t admit his feelings soon someone else could sweep in and take Noah and what we get is a beautiful sweet best friends to lovers romance story.

Noah keeps choosing the wrong guys. When his boyfriend cheats on him, he decides what he really wants is a fresh start in California, in the small town of Foggy Basin. His best friend Christian has been in love with him for years, and has no hesitation in following him at all.

They make a new life in Foggy Basin, involving rescuing many animals, Noah giving training for dogs and Christian finding his own way.

Eventually, Christian tells Noah how he feels and they discover maybe what they wanted was right in front of them both all along.

Really lovely story.

Sweet short read with lots of empathetic characters. I liked Christian as a character but I had some troubles with Noah and how he handled things that didn’t feel like the way of a best friend. It felt just egotistical that he ignored Christian’s feelings and that he wasn’t very careful with their friendship. Most of all it felt like he used him without even reflecting about it in the beginning.

I love Gabbi's writing, and she's become an instant purchase. I adored Christian. He has watched Noah pick one lousy boyfriend after another. I can see how his overbearing parents and a passive personality have him holding back on expressing his feelings. It made me cheer when he finally told Noah. Noah's low self-esteem causes him to hold back with Christian. Christian was patient, waiting for Noah to finally choose a life with him. I loved the epilogue.

Sweet, best friends to lovers

Noah moves to Foggy Basin to open his dog training business with his best friend Christian.
He's secretly been in love and pining for Noah for years, afraid to make a move.
This move has Christian finally saying something while oblivious Noah finally gets a clue and begins to see Christian in a whole new light.
I loved the meddling townspeople and the cute animals as well.

This is a romantic page turner with the main characters looking for a fresh start. Noah catches his boyfriend cheating and along with his best friend, Christian, decide they need a fresh start in another town. What Noah doesn't know is that Christian has been in love with him for thirteen years. Is this the move that will get Noah to finally realize what has always been in front of him. I really enjoyed this book.

I did enjoy this but my heart ached for Christian through most of it, unrequited love is a pain in it's own category. That aside his and Noah's story does has it's beautiful and funny moments, giving us lovely read, even though there a couple of times I didn't like Noah quite as much. The animal rescues and adoptions were just so perfect. ( been there, done that, drove my hubby crazy).

This was a good book, well written and pretty well edited. There was a pet peeve of mine, which was the “I know you SAID you don’t want to date such and such BUT I know better and shall p**p you out, I’m sure you’ll see I’m right!” Fortunately that didn’t last long, and then they got together and it was lovely.
