A Fate of Blood and Magic

Rate this book
Equal parts seductive and savage—A FATE OF BLOOD AND MAGIC is an exciting new adventure in a post-apocalyptic romantasy that combines fae magic, dragon guardians, and the irresistible pull of fate.

Two worlds collide…

Ten months ago, Elias chose to save his fated mate at the expense of the human world. Now humanity is taking revenge. They’ve captured fae as prisoners and are using their magic to keep the eternal winter at bay. Those who are rescued hover at the edge of death, their magic drained. Can Elias become the King his people need when it’s his fault the two worlds are at war?

A soul bond forged in ice and fire…

Teddy might have fallen in love with a fae prince, but she’s definitely not qualified to act as his queen. All she wants is a safe place to protect the family she made when the world was falling apart. But as violence erupts between humans and the fae, nowhere is safe.

A war that will cost them everything…

When a group of rebel humans find their way through the veil and unleash magic they shouldn’t have on fae innocents, Elias and Teddy realize that there are traitors in their midst. As war rages and sacrifices are made, is their love strong enough to save two worlds?

While I wasn’t born with a pen or book in my hand, it feels as if I’ve loved to write and read since forever. Now that I live in Texas, my favorite place to do either is in front of my fireplace. When I’m not reading or writing, you can find me hiking or exploring small towns with my husband and kids.

I love anything romance. Seriously, give me all the kissing books. But there’s something magical about diving deep into my imagination where dragons and fae exist. So, I guess you can say I’m in my romantasy era

When i read that Maria wants me to beta read her second book, who was I to deny when I would sell my soul to read more about them?

I love this world and this found family so much🥹🫶🏻.
Elias is such a down-for-her-so-bad type of man and i eat it up every. single. time.
We see different sides of Elias and Teddy in this book and honestly, that just made me love them more.
Brent and Alastor are just so swoon worthy and i cannot wait to read about them.

And maria's writing is so beautiful and it takes away my breath every time.

Brent and Teddy's relationship is so beautiful and soooo actual sibling like:

“You’re making fries, remember?” I patted his shoulder.
“I need instructions,” he said.
Teddy peered back at him. “Wash the potatoes, cut the potatoes, fry the potatoes.”
“Thanks, sis.” His tone came out dry. “That’s really helpful.”

Elias and Teddy are the best made for each other characters.
"I can’t promise to love you perfectly, but I vow to love you chaotically, maybe a bit recklessly but always completely."

I giggled in this book. i cried in this book. i was angry at some characters. i felt all the emotions i could.

in the end:

After I finished reading book one I ran to Instagram to message Y Maria. I needed more immediately. And honestly book 2 did not disappoint. I devoured this book. I couldn’t sleep. All I did was read. The way that this is written is just amazing. If you are looking for a fantasy romance. there’s dragons, Fae, magic, and an endless winter .Then this is definitely the book for you.

Book 2 picks up exactly what book one left off. With Teddy and Elias. Their love for each other is just phenomenal. This book was more Elias’s pov. I felt like it gave us a deeper insight to who he is as a person. I love all the growth that he went through throughout this book. How he was willing to completely change who he was to be the king that his people needed.

Teddy is by far the sweetest person I’ve ever gotten the pleasure to read about. Her heart is so pure. I also really enjoyed all the growth that she had from the last book to this one. She stepped up in so many ways. I love how she chooses Elias no matter what. She’s always got his back and she’s always there for him. I love how she doesn’t push him to change, just woks beside him as he grows on his own.

The family dynamic here is just amazing. How they all found each other and formed their own community. I also loved getting to know the other characters better and their stories definitely pulled it all the heartstrings in just the right way. I definitely had moments where I was thinking. What would I do if I was them?

Now, as for the ending, excuse me, ma’am? What was that? That was how you ended the book? I don’t know what is worse a massive cliffhanger or that. Needless to say the second the 3rd book is written, I will be reading it. I love her writing style and how she immense you into this beautiful winter Wonderland. Elias and Teddy story will stay with me forever. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. As usual, I am not paid for any of my review reviews and I was gifted this arc.

Thank you so much Y. Maria for an ARC of this A Fate of Blood & Magic in exchanged for an honest review!

When I finished the first book I did wonder how a sequel would work, I thought book 1 could have worked as a standalone but Y. Maria did an amazing job writing this sequel!

I will admit that my ratings is also due to my headspace whilst reading the book and that did effect my experience with it, in saying that. It is not a bad book at all! The writing is amazing and the world and story is good too! 🥰

One thing I really enjoyed was how much deeper we get to explore the world this time. Both the main cast and a few side characters also get moments to shine, which is one of my favourite things in a book!

That said, the pacing can be uneven. The first few chapters are gripping, but the middle section drags a bit under the weight of worldbuilding and exposition.

I did enjoy reading A Fate of Blood & Magic! It was fun reconnecting with new and returning characters. It pulled on my heartstrings and made me laugh at some points.

Overall, Fate of Blood and Magic is an amazing sequel that deepens the world and characters, even if it’s not quite as tightly paced as the first book. It sets up the next installment nicely and I can't wait to read it!

It's heartfelt, ambitious, and full of magic that lingers after you close the book.

I was beyond excited with this book. Book one was phenomenal, but this one really set the standard. I love how book two picked up where book one left off.

This book sucked me in but whats not to love about a book with fae, dragons, twists, magic and more. I loved reading more about Teddy and Elias. What a duo! I loved that in this book we got to see things from Elias's perspective. The raw emotion between the two of them was so invigorating.

As if the main characters werent spectacular enough, the side characters are just as phenomenal. I loved the whole found family feel. I love how all of the characters just felt so real.

The writing style was phenomenal and I loved how immersive it was because I felt like I was on this journey with them.

This is a five out of five star read for me. Thank you MTMC Tours for giving me copies of these books. I am beyond grateful. I will definitely be getting print editions for my library.

Finished book 2 and already begging for book 3 😭😭 I need answers! 😅

-Apocalyptic romantasy
-Dual POV
-Fae Magic
-Dragons
-Eternal Winter
-Fated mates
-Found family
-Spice

I ate this book up! Without giving away too many spoilers from book 1, this story picks up shortly after book 1 and dives us right into Elias and Teddy!

Fast paced, swoony moments, spice, fae and mages, and it’s of magic! This story had me captivated all through out, just like book 1!

This story is so unique with the eternal winter setting, the found family aspect is so amazingly done and so many characters that have found family outside of blood relations- which I LOVE.

And as always, Elias is still 🤌🏼 He really will 💀 anyone who touches his mate 🤭🔥

HIGHLY recommend for any romantasy lovers!

I was lucky enough to get the chance to beta read A Fate of Blood and Magic by Y. Maria, and I didn’t even hesitate to say yes. I’d already read the ARC of book one, A Fate of Ice and Lies, and while I enjoyed that one a lot, this one? I think I loved it even more.

One thing I absolutely adored in this book is the found family dynamic. The characters I was already so curious about in book one came back even better, and the new ones? Instantly added more emotion and tension to the group. I felt more connected this time around. Also, this book hurts and I mean that in the best way. It wasn’t all sweet and fluffy. There were hard choices, painful moments, and real consequences. I love when a story makes me feel like that, like I’m right there with the characters, unsure of what I’d even do in their place.

Y. Maria really knew how to add just the right amount of drama, too. Not over-the-top, but enough to make me pause and think, “Wait… what would I do?” There were moments that had me so conflicted about the characters' decisions, and that’s what got me pretty invested.

And now let’s talk about Teddy. In book one, I remember wanting to shake her so badly 😅 but here? She got me!! As the FMC, she really stepped up, and I genuinely found myself rooting for her all the way. Her growth was one of my favorite things in this book. So yeah… nicely done queen. You made me proud.🫶🏻🥹🙇🏻‍♀️👑

In addition, I am now officially an Alastor simp. I can’t believe how deeply invested I got in this man’s every move. Also I've never been soooo jealous of a fictional character so much.🤧

And lastly, I just have to say, I cannot wait to read Brenton’s book. I really felt hurt for him in this one. His quiet loyalty, the weight he carried ughhhhh my fragile heart cracked for him more than once.

A Fate of Blood and Magic takes everything I liked in book one and raises the emotional stakes. It’s more intense, more layered, and honestly gave me more reasons to stay obsessed with this world and these characters. I seriously can’t wait to see what happens next.

Thank you MTMC for the gifted e-arc!!!

The Vibe Check

This book delivers on all promises of its subgenre: it’s a high-octane blend of apocalyptic fantasy and raw, emotional romance. If you’re looking for a world where the stakes are literally life-or-death, the magic is visceral, and the tension is palpable, you’ve found it. T. Maria doesn't waste a single page, diving immediately back into the action after Book 1, making this a true testament to the fast-paced romantasy category.

World-Building & Plot Pacing

The Eternal Winter setting remains the most fascinating aspect of the world-building, lending a unique, desolate beauty to the narrative. The plot moves at a relentless clip, punctuated by swoony, unforgettable moments. The dual POV is masterfully handled, deepening the reader's connection to Elias and Teddy. Unlike some slower fantasy middles, this volume continues to expand the world with the introduction of new Fae factions and unexpected Dragons.

Character & Relationship Depth

The highlight here, echoing the heart of the first book, is the exceptional handling of Found Family. The emotional connections forged outside of blood ties are powerful, providing necessary warmth against the cold, apocalyptic backdrop.

• Elias & Teddy: The fated mates dynamic is everything we want. Their chemistry is intense, and the author expertly balances the overarching conflict with their personal journey. The development of their bond feels earned, making every interaction—especially the spicier ones—truly captivating. Elias's protective nature and Teddy's strength shine through, cementing them as a couple worth rooting for.

Final Verdict & Recommendation

A Fate of Blood and Magic (Book 2) is a seamless continuation of a brilliant series. It successfully manages multiple complex threads—the political maneuvering of the mages, the looming threat of the winter, and the deeply passionate romance—without ever feeling cluttered.

If you love: High heat romantasy with a detailed apocalypse setting, the found family trope, and Fae-centric magic systems, you should pick this up immediately. You will be left, like this reviewer, desperately begging for book 3.

This book is a masterclass in resilience, in holding onto the ones we love no matter the cost — even when it leads to painful, selfish decisions. And yet, you understand why each character makes the choices they do. That’s the magic of Y. María’s writing: her characters are flawed, layered, and beautifully imperfect.

I laughed, I cried, I felt heartbreak and joy — this book simply made me feel every emotion possible. Who would’ve thought I could love Elias even more? In this sequel, the bond between Teddy and Elias deepens in ways that go far beyond the idea of being fated — their love feels raw, real, and earned.

While the first book laid the foundation with world-building and introductions, this sequel is pure plot, packed with action, love, drama, and heart-wrenching twists. The pacing is so good I devoured the entire second half in a single day.

Y. María’s writing is incredibly immersive. Her descriptions are vivid without being overwhelming, and her attention to emotional detail made every scene feel like I was right there, living it. The twists? I didn’t see so many of them coming — and I loved every surprise.

This book is everything I want in a fantasy romance: deep emotion, high stakes, and unforgettable characters. I’m already counting down the days for the next installment.

Thank you Y. María for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

—————————

Thank you to the author for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Their love changed the world, and now the world is fighting back. The human world was plunged into an eternal winter when the fae prince Elias created a tear between realms to save his human soulmate, Teddy. As Elias and Teddy try to find their place as king and queen, someone is trapping the fae in the human world and sending humans into the fae world to carry out savage attacks. Elias and Teddy's bond will be tested more than ever, and their sacrifices in the name of those they love will have ripple effects across the realms. Can there be peace between the realms, and what more must Teddy and Elias endure to protect each other and their people?

This was a fantastic follow-up to A Fate of Ice and Lies. The book started off quickly and didn't slow down. This book was very emotional, and I found myself doing everything from yelling at the characters to crying with them. This book was also spicier than the first, which was a nice break from the intense emotional scenes. I enjoyed learning more about the fae realm and the magic system. The side characters have more of a presence in the story, and I am very excited to hear from a certain character in book three (revealed at the end of the book). The book left a lot of unanswered questions, so I will be waiting impatiently for the next one to get my answers. It was lovely to be with Teddy and Elias again, and I can't wait to see what's coming.

Guardians! I loved this book, even more than AFOIAL, If that is even possible. All the characters are back in this book along with the introduction of some new faces whom I fell in love with as well.

This book was so much more than what I was expecting. The story unfolded in such a way that I couldn't let it go. I was in such a chokehold needing to know what would happen next.
I wasn't expecting all the emotional turmoil and spent a good portion of time wiping the tears from blurring my vision. But almost every character has a story of their own, and the introduction of Eiran the Death God was such a special part of this story. And I sobbed some more during this part.

I love how Teddy's character arc had her grow into a much more confident woman who is strong , fierce and is now able to fight for herself and for those she loves. I wasn't her biggest fan in book 1, so this was a very welcome surprise.
And when Kieran calls her Mama Teddy ..it cracked my heart open 😭💙

Elias has grown so much in his relationship with Teddy. He's trying to help his people but doesn't always make the right decisions and goes through a lot of ups and downs. I adore that soul connection he has with Teddy.

Maria is such a wonderful storyteller and the beautiful way she writes about love in all its forms is an incredible talent. To become angry, excited or to sob over characters, where they feel like family...these are the books I will always remember and recommend to anyone who will listen. And A Fate of Blood and Magic is one of those books.

I'm not ready to say good bye to Elias and Teddy so this end is bitter sweet. I feel their story is just beginning and I want to see where it goes from here. Also there are so many questions that I pray are answered in the next book.

ARC Review—WOW!!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!!! So much happened and I felt so many emotions because I feel so connected to these characters! I’m sad that this is the end of Elias and Teddy’s journey BUT I am excited to see where the next book goes. 😜🙈 This universe is so easy to get pulled in to and it’s incredibly captivating where it is so unique!! We get to see Elias and Teddy healing together and still going through so much and they continue to go through struggle after struggle, trial after trial, and regardless of that their love and devotion to each other and their family never budges. They are betrayed, they are kidnapped, they are constantly ridiculed, they are hated, they are attacked….and yet they do so with grace and dignity and strive to be better than those before them. I laughed, I cried, I got so angry I wanted to punch characters in the face, I felt so much heartbreak and sadness. Many times Teddy shows us that being the bigger person is humbling in the best way. I loved seeing Brenton and Teddy’s sibling bond develop more in this book as well because it’s absolutely precious! They both needed each other so much and they got together as siblings so naturally. ❤️ Especially after this, if anyone deserves a HEA it’s Brenton—he’s AMAZING and I love how Teddy will go ten toes for him already. Overall this book was so good and had sooo many little plot moments happening that you won’t be able to sit still! If you loved book 1, then book 2 will take you for an even better ride, so buckle up and enjoy it! 🤗🤌🏻😜❤️ I received this as an eARC for free and would happily do another eARC for Y. Maria for book 3! ☺️

So going into this read I already knew I loved Y.Maria's writing style and these characters so I was more than ready to continue with the journey with Elias, Teddy, their friends, and kingdom after I finished Book One A Fate of Ice and Lies of this series. She had my head spinning through this read. One minute I was like Awww look at all these sweet moments, then I'm like WTF is wrong with people, then I'm tearing up about to cry, let's not forget when I was cracking up laughing or sitting on the edge of my seat because of the dramatic scenes. Y.Maria put me on a roller coaster of emotions I didn't want to get off from.

Beautiful World Building ✔️
Compelling Character Dynamics ✔️
Growing Found Family ✔️
Intense Drama/Battle ✔️
Poetic Love Admissions ✔️
Spice ✔️
Political Intrigue ✔️
Emotional Scenes ✔️
Magical Abilities ✔️
Strong Characters ✔️
Fae, Humans, Mages, Dragons, and other fantastical but dangerous mythical creatures ✔️

This book had so much to offer me and it just kept giving all the way to the end.

I really enjoyed seeing the deeper connections formed between the MCs as well as their side characters which in turn had me growing more attached to each of them. One of my favorite parts was watching Teddy grow into her Mage magic and embracing that side of herself while also seeing Elias accepting every side of her. This duo's Fated Mate Bond and connection was the icing on the cake in this story for me because I'm such a sucker for Soul Bound Mates with a side of Touch Her/Him and Die. Until next time Y.Maria...I am already ready to gobble up your next one.

Oh man.. A lot has happened in Book 2. The highlight of the entire series is definitely the Found Family dynamics. For AFOBAM, there is a shift of focus from the humans to the fae. The humans (except for Donnie) become side characters while the story is more focused on Elias and Teddy's relationship with the other fae (their adopted kids, Alastor and Elias' compere).

We get to see the development of the relationship between Teddy and Alastor and Teddy and Brenton. Love, love the whole family dynamics of the three! Seeing the other side of Alastor was so nice esp after his traumatic experience in Book 1. Love the teasing and sibling jokes between Teddy and Brenton too! And it's so sweet how protective she was of her brother. But I guess, "Mama Teddy" is very protective of everyone she loves.

We also get to see how Elias as King isn't as perfect as we assumed he would be after what his parents did. Honestly, there were moments where I wanted to smack him in the head for the decisions he made but then again, he managed to redeem himself.

There's so many things that happened in this book and I felt like I was in a roller coaster ride while reading it. I felt all the feels and chuckled at the banter among the "family".

Y Maria did a great job creating this fantasy world and really looking forward to reading more about Brenton's HEA. I'm also looking forward to more of Javier and his friends. 🤞

"I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.” A Fate of blood and magic. Book two begins exactly where the first left off, continuing the journey of Teddy and Elias. The depth of their connection is compelling, and this installment, told more from Elias’s perspective, offered a much deeper understanding of who he is at his core. Watching his evolution throughout the story especially his willingness to transform into the king his people needed was one of the most powerful aspects of the book.
Teddy continues to be an incredibly endearing character. Her kindness, loyalty, and strength stand out, and her growth from the previous book to this one is remarkable. She supports Elias without trying to change him, standing beside him as he finds his own path. Her unwavering belief in him is both touching and inspiring.
The found family dynamic within the story is beautifully written. Each character feels meaningful, and learning more about their backgrounds only strengthened the emotional impact of the narrative.
As for the ending it left me absolutely desperate for more. Between the tension and the uncertainty, I am craving, wanting, hoping for the next book. This series has completely captured my heart, and Elias and Teddy’s story will stay with me for a long time to come. I truly love this series, and I can confidently say it is a must read for fans of emotional, character driven stories that stay with you long after the final page. 💛

This book picks right back up where the last left off, with Elias and Teddy dealing with the consequences of their humans and fae worlds colliding and trying to bring peace to both worlds. They must work with both friends and previously thought of as foes to overcome the humans who would wish to harm them and even those in their own fae court who do not like the new way things are being run!

This book has all the things I look for in a romantasy including some of my favorite tropes like found family and even some dragon riding! There were plenty of twists and betrayals that kept this book exciting and really showed the aftermath of what a lot of romantasy books don’t do which is the ruling of the kingdom and rebuilding of a realm after the main war is over and villain is defeated. I loved continuing to explore the bond between Elias and Teddy and the bonds they’ve formed with all the children (and some adults) they’ve adopted into their family. I also enjoyed getting to see the further development of relationships and friendships between many of the side characters and I’m so excited for the next book as per the ending it should feature one of my favorite characters! Overall my rating 4.4/5!

Thanks to the author and MTMC tours for the gifted copy, all opinions given are my own!

✨ This is book two in the series, continuing Elias and Teddy’s (Theodora) journey from book one—and what a ride it was. This duet had me laughing, crying, fuming, and then laughing all over again.

📚 The story leans heavily into plot and character development, with just the right touch of spice woven throughout. I was completely immersed in this magical world—rich with diverse characters, unexpected twists, and high stakes that kept me turning the pages.

💜 Teddy shines as a heroine—loyal, brilliant, and fiercely protective of those she loves. Her strength and resilience made her such a standout character.

🔥 I highly recommend reading this duet for Elias and Teddy’s story. It’s emotional, layered, and unforgettable—and now I can’t wait to dive into book three and return to this enchanting world.

I read both books one after the other, so my review is for both books in the series.

I love that these books start out by throwing you into the action. I enjoyed this series so much. They are so action-packed, that the reader is jumping from one moment to the next without slowing down. I enjoyed the fierce battles, mythical creatures, and fated mates (one of my absolute favorite tropes) ✨️
This series is literally the epitome of Found Family 💞
Plus dragons, fae, and a pet donkey? I loved all of these elements!! 🐉🫏
Y Maria knows how to build up the happy moments and then tear my heart apart in the next moment, only to mend it again. I won't lie, book 2 had me in both happy and sad tears. The devastation? The loss? So profoundly heartbreaking!! But the love the characters have for each other and the ones they love? It's enough to mend any soul. The ending to book 2 made me smile and I am so excited for Brenton's upcoming story.
P.s. why am I craving fries now? 🍟

Ok I am so torn over my thoughts on this. I fricken loved it! It was full of heartache and struggle but also so many beautiful parts and moments for our main characters, and our most lovable side characters. The ride we went on with book two was so good, but then our ride just stops. I can’t handle so many unanswered questions or unfulfilled events that are still left lingering in this one. I know we get another book for Brent but there is still too much left in this one. I needed about 200 plus more pages, without giving spoilers we have the orb, javi, the grey patch, the compounds and the dragons and the magic fluxes…gahhhh still so much I need to have cleared up. I hope we will get that in the next one. Even though I am feeling unsettled with how this one ends, I would most definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new fantasy with very unique aspects to the magic and world(s). I will be eagerly waiting for the next one, clearly I need more lol I adore all these characters and their found family has a special place in my heart. I was so lucky to have received both books as an ARC, and my thoughts and opinions are all my own.

The rollercoaster of emotions this book sent me on, FABULOUS! I love these characters so much. Teddy and Elias are mama and papa bears, and seeing them as a family with their found family just warms my heart. Teddy and Brenton's relationship growing and their playfulness is top tier. I honestly LOVE Brenton and I cannot wait for his story next year, like foaming at the mouth in anticipation.
This book again had me boohoo crying at certain points, I was clutching my pearls, and ready to find some magic I don't have to blast the bad people away. Not only was this emotional, but I also enjoyed the funny parts. I loved the rock/pebbles joke Teddy and Brenton played on Elias, and that they just keep going with it and made use of the pebbles in their home. I love that this book explores so much trauma and in a very realistic way (Javi finding out the truth about his dad's death and how he is coping). its easy to write books where forgiveness is given immediately, but its harder to show the emotions when forgiveness is more complex and takes time. I applaud Y. Maria for being able to capture that.

Overall, I think Y. Maria is one of my new favorite, must read, instant read authors.

Being back in Teddy & Elias’s world was SO much fun! This book was PACKED with action—I swear I was stressed for these characters because they could not catch a break. 😅 The pacing felt a little off at times—slow in some moments, fast in others—but it kept me hooked & I’m hoping book 3 ties up some of those loose ends.

Elias’s unwavering love for Teddy melts my heart!! He goes above and beyond for his mate—I adore him!! Yall already know found family is one my fav tropes & the way it unfolds in this book was perfect. 🥹🫶🏼

I’m sad this is the end of Teddy & Elias’s journey, but I’m crossing my fingers we’ll still catch glimpses of them in book 3. I can't wait to focus on Brenton because my sweet angel deserves everything. OH. MY. GOSH. His backstory shattered me into a million pieces. The way I sprinted into Y. Maria’s DMs demanding answers?! 😂

"No, you don't get the easy smiles or the jokes and teases. I reserve that for the people who helped me smooth out the sharp edges of my soul you created." 😭

A Fate of Blood and Magic is the second installment in The Fated series and picks up 10 months after the events of the first book.

I was so excited to dive back into Elias and Teddy’s world and while the book was enjoyable, it didn’t hit quite as hard as the first one despite the high stakes.

Elias and Teddy were real and relatable with their individual struggles and learning to balance family and leadership. They spent some of the book apart but it was fun seeing their found family flourish and building connections with other characters that we didn’t get to experience much of in the first book, as well as being introduced to new ones.

The pacing was a bit off. With so much happening, some parts felt rushed while others dragged and it was hard to connect with the story as a whole.

There are still some unanswered questions which I hope will be answered in the next book but overall it was a fun read. I’ll definitely be back for Brent’s story.

That feeling when the second book is just as good, if not better, then the first book? That is the feeling I live for, and that is what this book was for me. It was an absolutely stunning continuation from the first book and another jaw-dropping wild ride.

Teddy is perseverance personified. She has so much insanity that happens to her on this journey, and despite it all, she straps up her boots and gets things done. I loved watching her grow and fight for her new found family in this book.

Elias? Over protective, touch her and 💀, will burn the world down for her. If you're looking for a swoon worthy MMC, then look no further. He went from golden retriever to german shepherd and I was HERE for it.

The plot takes so many twists and turns that keep your attention and adrenaline high. There was a few things I didn't see coming, and we all know I love to be surprised. With secrets, betrayal, magic, and epic twists this series needs to be on your TBR.

This book is the second in a series and I, dare I say it, actually liked it more than book 1! (And I very much enjoyed book 1!)

It continues the story of worlds colliding and being torn apart. We still have the human world as this frozen dystopia, but we also get to see more of Elias’ world and learn about the magic that is there. Plus we get to see Elias as the ever caring protector and I ate it up!

Teddy is growing (in many ways 🤣) and I’ve loved her character so much because she’s so optimistic and always willing to look for the good. I love that, especially in today’s world! However, she also is a take no shit gal and I love that even more.

The magic and the betrayals really made this book so awesome to me! The pacing was great; the spice was spicing; and the bonds in this found family drag you in for a big group hug. Totally grab this and follow @ymariawrites because it’s so good! Can’t wait for the next because… I have some suspicions haha!

Get the tissues, I promise this one is going to make you cry so much!

I have had the pleasure of arc reading both books in this series so far and I was not prepared to be so emotionally devastated. I swear I spent about 10 chapters just crying and cussing the author in my head! This story and its triggers are not light please check them before you read this.

I love the relationships between the characters and how the author shows us that not every story will have characters that don’t have flaws and strenuous relationships with each other. That they fight, stumble, break each other, and have to live with the decisions they make at the end of the day.

I love Alastor’s character and my second favorite is Kieren he is so adorable!

Go read this series if you are ready to have your heart shredded and then held together by magic and maybe a sassy dragon!

When two worlds collide, will they be able to live together or will hate tear them apart?

A Fate of Blood and Magic is an exciting story that continues to follow Teddy, Elias, and their friends as they deal with fallout from A Fate of Ice and Lies.

The state of Niev has never been so volatile as fae, humans, and other supernatural beings try to form a new life in the same world. Tensions are high, the fight has never been harder, and doubt creeps into the minds of those that want this new life to succeed. Teddy and Elias face their toughest battles yet, friends find themselves on opposite sides, and betrayals come to light.

A Fate of Blood and Magic has everything a romantasy lover is looking for in a story….. soul bonds, dragons, magic, and a group of people ready to stand up for their world and the people they care about.

I just finished book two and already need book three! I could not put this book down. I absolutely loved every second. Teddy and Elias!!! I loved seeing their dynamic in the first book, and it just gets better in this one. They are mates, but we see different sides of them in this book. The found family is amazing, and seeing how everyone comes together and assumes their roles was so fun. I already loved the side characters, and getting more of them in this book just made me love them more. The emotions are high in this book, though. It made me feel all the feels, and it was a journey! A journey I don't want to end! I can't wait for the next book, and if you haven't checked this series out yet, do it! It's got dragons, fated mates, found family, and a story that is unique and will pull you in from the first page!

This is the second book following Elias and Teddy’s story.

It was nice to see how they had settled into the fae realm and their found family had grown together.

Although it was an easy read I did feel a bit bored in places and felt that there was much that could have been cut out. At times the pacing was a bit erratic which I think led to me feeling that I was a bit bored in parts.

There was a lot that has been left unexplained - the mage magic, the erratic fae magic and how Elias’ and Teddy’s bond will affect them long term. The third book is set to be based on Brent so I’m unsure whether these will be answered.

It was overall an enjoyable read with lots of different emotions and I enjoyed the humour. Thank you for the opportunity to read it in advance.

I was so excited to be chosen for the ARC after loving the first book and Y. Maria truly delivered again. Her writing flows so well and strikes the perfect balance between drama, fantasy, and romance. The characters have grown so much since the first book and Teddy especially stood out to me. In the beginning she was timid and unsure, but now she steps up and becomes a real leader. The start of the book was a little slow, but it set the stage beautifully and made everything that followed easy to follow and so worth it. By the time I reached the end, I was hooked and now I cannot wait to see what happens in the next one.

This book was so fun to read!! I loved the back and forth banter, the characters, everything. Wish we had one more book about Teddy and Elias though. I felt like their story was just beginning. I can’t wait for book 3!! Also if I had to pick one or two favorite characters to choose I would pick Elias and Teddy!! Their love story was awesome from the beginning of book 1 to the ending of book 2!! And the romance? Ugh so good!! Nothing wrong with a little bit of spice here and there!! This book helped me at times because it made me feel like I knew the characters in real life!! Books like that just make you feel so warm and fuzzy inside. This book was like a magic hug for me.
