As usual with most books about the E&W judicial system, one leaves with the inevitable conclusion: it’s f***ed. But perhaps the sheer extent of the UK’s social issues isn’t revealed until you read what people at the coalface are dealing with, and it makes one realise that there are plenty of people who don’t view law as a ticket to power and prestige.

A very detailed insight into the child protection systems of the UK. Theresa writes about her experiences as a child protection lawyer in a way that is informative, engaging, and emotive. Despite personally finding non-fiction hard to read, this one really gripped me.
