"White Nights": Sentimental (derogatory) with way too much dialogue. Centers on literary history's first pick-me boy. Ugh. Honestly do not get the hype, a word which here means both "literary canonization" and "booktok fame".

"A Faint Heart": What I imagine will happen to me in grad school. Not a fan of the ending. (Maybe because I don't like what that implies for grad school!)

"A Christmas Tree and a Wedding": The only story of these I truly liked. Unfortunately by far the shortest, but much more impactful and genuinely devastating in ten pages than "White Nights" was at eight times the length. This one bumped the overall rating up to three stars. Fair, Fyodor?
