Bought-the-Farm Mystery #22

Hit the Road, Quack

Rate this book
No one likes a mouthy duck… unless he’s quacking up clues.

When a mysterious duck splashes down in Ivy Galloway’s new pond, the inn at Runaway Farm is buzzing with guests, including a romance guru and her devoted fans.

But when the so-called expert in love meets an untimely end, suspicion spreads like feathers in a windstorm, catching Ivy’s sister Violet in the middle.

As Ivy and brilliant border collie Keats hunt for answers, they discover a world where online love gets nasty and secrets run as deep as the local swamps. Can they solve the crime while ducking a devious killer?

Hit the Road, Quack is the next witty whodunit in the Bought-the-Farm Mystery series, perfect for fans of clever animals and amateur sleuths.

Hit the Road, Quack is another convoluted, intriguing, cozy mystery starring Ivy & brilliant border collie Keats! I love this series so much that I hope it never ends! With all the usual characters, some wedding jitters and another murder, life at Runaway Far (m) continues as usual. It seems that some other love advice gurus were jealous of Lovebirdy's success. Ivy never lacks for suspects or motives as she and her pets investigate despite Asher trying to prevent anyone from talking to her. A new duck lands in her pond and he may be injured. Ivy takes to the back hills to find her duck! I think I need to book a stay with Ivy and Jilly at the farm!

I just love the latest offering in Ellen Riggs' hit series, "Bought-The-Farm." This one, called: "Hit the Road,Quack" is filled with more fun with Ivy and Keats as they try to solve yet another mystery that interrupts her efforts to help yet another animal's dilemma.
All the usual characters show up to help stir the pot and keep things interesting.
If you like cozy mysteries, even if you've never read any of Ms Riggs books before, this is one you just can't miss (but then go back and get the rest of the of them, they're that good)!

I love this series, and Hit the Road, Quack did not disappoint! Ivy, Keats, and the rest of the gang are back, diving into another charming mystery — this time with a new duck friend joining the adventure.

With a victim who had more rivals than friends and a suspiciously controversial will, Ivy and Keats have their work cut out for them. Can they unravel the clues before the killer turns the tables?

Ellen Riggs delivers yet another delightful, twist-filled mystery that kept me hooked from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down!

Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry. 'Cause Ivy is on the loose and on the trail, with plenty of suspects to investigate: rival web masters, displeased advisees, disgruntled employees, dangerously cranky hillfolk, you name it. On top of all that, is the newest member of Ivy's flock injured? She's got to find out--come hell, high water (not Keats' favorite) or quagmire(y) swamps (also not a favorite). Nothing stops Ivy on an animal mission. Come along for edge-of-your seat action!

Once again Ellen Riggs has a mystery you just can’t put down! Ivy, Keats, Percy and the rest of the gang take us on another adventure.
Ellen Riggs has such a talent for weaving adventures together to make a story you want to be a part of. You never know what mischief “Twisty” Ivy is going to get into but it’s guaranteed to keep you turning the pages. I love a book that has humor sprinkled throughout the story. It’s sure to become a series you will love!

Quack

Who knew a duck could help solve a crime. These mystery books by Ellen Riggs are very well written. They are very intriguing and interesting. Ivy & Kellen’s love story is very unique as they solve crimes, one with a badge and the other with her pet sleuths. Solving this social media stirred murder mystery is filled with a lot of things that are very important. It is also filled with family relationships and friendships that make it easy to read.

Hit The Road Quack is a great new book in the Runaway Farm series by the talented Ellen Riggs. I laughed out loud several times with all of the antics that Ivy, Keats, and Percy pulled. Ms. Riggs writes an entertaining story that keeps me reading from the first to the last page.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Hit the Road, Quack: Bought the Farm mystery book 22

Another winner of a story. The. Pond gets water in an unusual way and a bone is found. There is a return of a character not Ivys favorite, a murder and a Wood duck. This one brings interesting insights into some of real world issues.

Utterly charming!

The very best book yet! Well-written, good jnfo on the subject of 'intel gurus' and the need to do research. Jackson Quack and family adorable, and Ivey's friends and family a joy to read about. Loved this book, looking forward to the next. Oh yes! For all ages!!!

So disappointed

One of the reasons I enjoyed this author was the standalone nature of her mysteries. This story, unfortunately, follows the recent trend of other authors to lay out a hook and end before solving it, leading to the next story. Really liked the duck's story but the two key mysteries are left for the next book(s).

I adore wood ducks and I absolutely LOVED this book! This is such a great series, with awesome characters. I especially appreciate Edna and Gertie. Looking forward to getting Ivy and Kellan married off, hopefully in the next one!

This book is so well written. The writing is way beyond most cozy mysteries. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and it never gets old in fact they just keep getting better. I actually learned a lot in this book not only about wood ducks but about social media. Who knew?

New characters, new animals

Edna and Gerty take a back seat in this book due to old bones. (Not theirs) But Ivy and Jolly are up to their necks in a new murder and a visiting duck.

I feel this is only part one of a storyline that can't be contained in a single book.

this book lacked a "little something" for me-?
I love the closeness between Asher + Ivy, this book gave a nice outline of their relationship thru out their lives.

Nothing like a new mystery on the farm

Another great book about Runaway Farm! Ivy seems to find mysteries without really looking. This time a stray duck leads her into mystery.

Duck Heaven!

Lovely mystery, new critters and friends.
Don't miss this adventure. Baby ducks head up the cuteness quotient. and the mystery is interesting, as usual.

I don’t believe I’ve written any reviews on this series. Which is silly. This was my first ever cozy mystery series. I loved it so much I got my sister and a good friend hooked on them.
It’s got mystery, romance, interesting characters and animals. I regret when I finish one of these books and wait, not so patiently, for the next one. I didn’t mention the comedy. They are funny. I have gotten into other series but this is my favorite! I feel like I know the characters!
A former HR lady gets a head injury and a border collie. She moves back to the dreaded hometown and ends up running a B&B/ animal rescue farm. That’s my only spoiler. They are fun books.
