This is a fun time if you're into the 60s Batman show. This is honestly great, considering the show is one of my favourite little comfort shows. Unfortunately I found the comic to be a bit too samey, and I don't know if the series works as well in this medium compared to the original show.
I think the art is *incredibly* great, especially when it decides to get all 60s psychedelic on us, but I think the whole compendium format encourages a type of binge reading which does not work for this series. The show is made for spacing out the episodes, like watching it on cable TV, and the comic captures that really well! But reading it in this format as quick as I did makes it feel more like a slog than anything. Maybe this is more of a personal issue in how I read this, and if/when I do pick this up again I should probably take my time more.
Besides that, this is a charming book I'd still recommend. I especially loved the way they translated Batman's rogues gallery that debuted after the show finished airing (Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Bane) into the world of the 60s show. I'd just recommend not binging it like I did.

this book is an uneven experience, in both writing and art. some installments are witty and clever, others feel rote and going-through-the-motions. when it hits, it's brilliant, when it doesn't, it feels like stale parody
