I enjoyed this book. It contains a main story set in the Gotham Academy starring Batman and Maps, a medium story starring Aquaman, then Artemis, short stories starring Bat Lash, Sgt Rock and finally Signal.
Man-Bats have been terrorising Gotham. Batman suspects trouble at Gotham Academy and enlists Maps to help him investigate. On a personal note Bruce Wayne is dating a professor at the Academy however can the relationship Bruce's reputation and hobbies?
Artemis is on her own, and with the military thinks this is the perfect time to take out one of the best-known Amazons. Does anyone think she is going down quietly?
Aquaman is answering a call, but this will lead him straight into an alien invasion.
Bat Lash's con game has been discovered not it is time to put his fists up.
Everyone has a story about Sargent Rock. Is he more myth than man?
There is a new criminal in town or an old one with a new look to tangle with the Signal.
All the stories are different but enjoyable. The main story is the book is great, I enjoyed the anime-style artwork of that one in particular. An all-around good book.
DC finally seem to be getting around to collecting the latest Brave & The Bold series, for better or worse. This collection is mostly the latter, unfortunately, but it's not overly bad, just kind of forgettable.
The main draw for me was the Gotham Academy story, because I love whenever we get to revisit these characters, and it seems Karl Kerschl does too since he comes back to write and draw. The Artemis story goes on for too long and doesn't even resolve itself, which is disappointing, and then there's an Aquaman story from Gabriel Hardman that looks great despite being too short. We also get some random bits and pieces, like a Bat Lash story, and a Creature Commandos strip - I do always enjoy when people remember the Signal exists, though.
