I couldn't get far,,,,

I tried,,the premise was intriguing,,,but our young (22) heroine is entirely too naive and, dare I say, stupid for my taste. She goes to dinner with a dude she met on a train and promptly spills her whole life story,,,good grief,,,, seriously ??
You get the impression the writers want you to see her as this young independent badass witch,,,but they don't write her that way. I tried to keep going because I like Michael Anderle a lot ,,but this is a hard no for me.

good

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book when I first started reading it because the talking about a school made me think of possibly teens or young adults. I like the fact that the FMC got away from her cousin and I like the story behind how she got away from her cousin and why she left. I thought her Aunt was pretty interesting as well. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.E

A heroine in the making and lots to look forward q

Wow. A perfect beginning to a series I am looking forward to read. A young woman/witch who want to help others in situations she has been in in the past. Talented a with real friends and an aunt she is making plans for the future. A heroine in the making as she fights injustice and suppression head on. Wonderfully written and captivating story in which you can immerse yourself into.

Mixed opener

Although I got this as a freebie, it is definitely a box set I'll be keeping an eye out for! Interesting mix of detail and magical action...with mysterious characters and a FMC that has a lot of potential...for adventure, development and kicking butt!! I'm looking forward to discovering what's next for Jo and her friends and her becoming a force to be reckoned with!! Another great adventure from these two (not the first take I've read from them!!!)

Strong magic

This book was very engaging from the start. The mysteries suck you in and the characters and storylines keep you reading. I am looking forward to the next book to find the answers to some of the unknowns, especially the secrets if the covens.

DNF. I like books about witches. This was a book about a whistleblower. Incredibly boring.
