Immortal warrior. Cursed by the gods. Haunted by death.
To escape his wretched fate, immortal warrior Rekaan seeks a way off the sorcery-warped world of Krimarn. After traveling to dusty libraries and ruins long ago swallowed by the earth, his discoveries tell him that escape means opposing the gods themselves.
Rekaan's bold scheme begins with the overthrow of the vast Empire of the North. But to conquer the empire, he will first need to prove himself a worthy prince to the emperor rather than a mere barbarian usurper, and to do that means attending the emperor's winter court in the frozen reaches of the far north.
And upon his arrival at the winter palace, Rekaan discovers that nothing is ever as it seems.
Get The Garnet Throne, book one of the Rekaan's Blade saga now, and begin your journey into this spine-tingling tale of vengeance and treachery.
Fans of sword & sorcery legends such as Robert E. Howard's Conan, Michael Moorcock's Elric, and Karl Edward Wagner's Kane will delight in this series.
I was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. I joined the Air Force, and my career took me from coast to coast before depositing me in the St. Louis, Missouri area for several years. After a tour in Korea and a short return to the St. Louis area, I retired and moved to the greater Denver, Colorado metropolitan area. I write speculative fiction, mostly science fiction and fantasy. My favorite writers over the years have been Robert E. Howard, Philip K. Dick, Roger Zelazny, and Michael Crichton.
Once again another book over 500 pages with sword and sorcery claims. This actually could have been a nice S & S novella if 350 pages of repetitive bloat were removed. The story was brutally long and collapsed upon itself. It reminded me more of modern epic dark fantasy with sword and sorcery tropes. I know the author understands the material as he has read all of the classic sword and sorcery authors. It just didn’t work for me this time. I liked the first book much more. There is such a unique backstory to the protagonist. It just seemed wasted on over 500 pages (mostly filler)in one location. I would really like to see the author trim down any future adventures to short stories or novella length works. I believe they would be excellent.
