This collection features five novellas–three from previous Heart2Heart anthologies and two from limited giveaways, completely revised with additional content, now available on Amazon and in audio for the first time!
Nefarious Nights: Aiden, who protects a crime lord, ends up trading banter and kisses with the man he’s supposed to kill.
Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike: Owen’s penchant for opening packages propels him and his best friend (and hopeless crush) Lance into a race against time… and a pantsless bicycle ride?
Follow My Lead: Hunter rebels against his father’s plans and takes a ballroom dance class in his senior year of college… but it’s the sexy instructor who sweeps him off his feet.
You Can’t Spell Necromancer Without Romance: A dead body on Axton’s front yard leads him to the necromancer destined to kill him, only to discover fate has something else in store.
Heist of Hearts: Reed tumbles out of a house he’d broken into… and into the arms of the man who’d arrested him over a decade earlier.
Alice Winters started writing stories as soon as she was old enough to turn her ideas into written words. She loves writing a variety of things from romance and comedy to action. She also enjoys reading, horseback riding, and spending time with her pets.
4 stars for “Nefarious Nights” 2.5 stars for “Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike” 3 stars for “Follow My Lead” 4 stars for “You Can’t Spell Necromancer Without Romance” 3 stars for “Heist of Hearts”
A collection of short stories from Alice Winters. Some were written for previous anthologies, but they've been expanded and put together into this great collection! Michael is a wonderful narrator (he and Greg are definitely my favorites when it comes to Alice's writing) and I'm excited to get to listen to these!
Nefarious Nights - this answers that great prompt of the hitman and cop that keep "missing" each other and deliberately sabotage things just so they can hang out. This is also very Leland-esque LOL. I enjoyed this one a lot! 4.5 stars.
Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike - this was so funny! Two best friends, unrequited love, Thor the cat, and some danger. 4 stars.
Follow My Lead - a cute romcom between a college student who just wants to dance despite his father's toxic masculinity haha and the dance instructor he falls for. This was fun and cute, unfortunately might be my least favorite of the bunch because it just felt like it was missing something? Still cute! 3.5 stars.
You Can’t Spell Necromancer Without Romance - 5 stars - my favorite of the whole collection! The voices!! Michael does such a great job with all the different voices of the undead lol. This one is hilarious, a fun story, and I love the characters. Also this title is perfection and I don't know how I've never seen it elsewhere before. Honestly, I think I'd love more with these guys!
Heist of Hearts: This is such a fun premise - the guy you've been talking to in an online dating app is the cop that arrested you years back! I always love the "you've got mail"-trope, where they don't know they're talking to each other. And then their date goes horribly wrong LOL. 4.5 stars for me.
All in all - a fun collection of stories and a great representation of Alice Winters' humor and comedic writing style. Nefarious Nights and Necromancer were definitely my favorite stories in the set. I'd personally LOVE more in the Necromancer world!
Excellent narration. Stories 3 & 4 are worth the cost alone
No 1 - a story along the same lines as Leland & Jackson (Hitmans Guide), even down to their personalities and ways of speaking/behaviour etc. Enjoyable, but felt repetitive and nothing fresh. 3 stars.
No. 2 - I just didn't gel with this one, but may be more of a me problem. 2 stars
No. 3 - I'd pay for this book and especially the audio for this story alone. So funny and the second hand embarrassment is so strong!!! 5 stars!!
No. 4 - EXECELLENT!!! I love love loved the voices in the audio, they were perfect!! A fantastic mix of sweet characters, magic and Mayhem, lots of humour, and of course romance. 5.5 stars!
This was a fun one. Didn't go too hard on the humor and the only one that really had cringe moments was Follow my lead. Shame about the order, because the best story was the necromancer one, so Heist of hearts was anticlimactic for an end. Strong opening with the first story, gave me mature Leland vibes. The stories are what they say on the tin. Least fave to fave: Heist of Hearts, Follow My Lead, Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike, Nefarious Nights and You Can’t Spell Necromancer Without Romance.

It was fun. I'd call them more novellas than short stories, which in my opinion makes for a more fleshed out, if still short, story. I had read two of them before but I enjoyed it all regardless
Nefarious Nights 5/5 So good. The plot structure (especially for a novella) was perfect. Two hitmen continue to have orders to take each other out and they continually find reasons not to kill each other.
Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike 4/5 This was fun. Two best friends find themselves accidentally in possession of a stolen diamond. I love best friends to lovers where one has been secretly pining. It's absolutely hilarious towards the end.
Follow My Lead 3/5 I liked it but didn't love it. It was more of a me problem. Wanting to be with someone but refusing to be together due to bureaucratic bullsh*t is incredibly frustrating to me. This one also had no crime element like most of her stories. Michael’s voice sold it for me more than the storyline.
You Can’t Spell Necromancer Without Romance 4/5 This was cute. I loved getting a paranormal story. A witch finds a dead body on his lawn and goes to a necromancer for help. The necromancer is prophesied to kill thousands and is not at all what he expected. There is a miniature horse familiar and a slew of undead busybodies.
Heist of Hearts 5/5 Loved this one. A cheeky thief has a job go haywire while chatting with a guy on a dating app. When they meet in person things don't go as planned. I wish there had been a little more to this one, but I loved the characters and storyline.
This collection of 5 MM romance novellas is absolutely adorable, and I love it. These stories are full of crazy antics, hilarious banter, and heartfelt romance. They are the perfect bite-sized reads, and each one is so well written that we still get a fully developed story just as good as a full-length novel. Alice Winters is such a fantastic author and a must-read if you enjoy MM romantic reads.
I could not be forced to choose a favourite story from among those! They were all great in their own way but all of them made me happy squeal when the couple finally got together. Highly recommend this mix of Leland like antics across a bunch of new characters
I LOVED all of these stories but my absolute favorite was “Never Have I Ever Ridden a Bike.” I literally laughed out loud through the entire story; gasping for breath laughter. It was awesome. All the stories are fun and well-written and highly entertaining. One of my favorite short story collections ever.
This collection of short stories was great! Alice Winters has a way of writing that literally males me laugh out loud. Her characters always includes a sassy hero and the action scenes are always fun and intense. Highly recommended
Each story has intriguing characters, funny moments and plot twists. Enjoy how the these unusual couples meet, handle the challenges and savor every touch, kiss and steamy moment!!!
It was great to reread in audio some of these and to finally read some new to me stories. They all had the hilarious comedy typical of Alice Winters books which I love so I truly enjoyed this!
I really love the author's sense of humor. Every story was unique and interesting and really funny. I loved how the narrator voiced all the characters. Great storytelling.
Sweet collection of Alice Winters novellas. The novellas are - as expected - typical Alice Winters stories that entertain. I got the audiobooks and the narrator nailed it.
