I found this book on the shelf-who am I kidding, shelves of "books to be read". It is a lot like an Elmore Leonard book, but the flow of the story is a little jumpy, hence only 4 stars.
Myra is a drop dead beautiful Public Defender,and future Playboy model. Se is set up to defend Napoleon Booker, a repeat drug dealer/ gang member who is charged with robbery and murder. Only he is innocent and Myra so knows he is, the only problem is they are both in the way of some powerful people getting their way.
The characters are both smart and funny. The language is quite strong, not shortage of 4 letter words and racial slurs, but the book is still fun to read.

Myra and Napoleon, an unlikely duo, must work together to prove the innocence of one. Myra Cross is a stunning white public defender with a killer body. She has a reputation both in and outside of the courtroom. Napoleon Booker is a young drug dealer facing his third strike. With skill and finesse, Myra was able to help him beat a case in the past. Can the same prove true this go round? Myra and Napoleon make surprisingly good partners as they navigate through the streets of LA and even Mexico looking for evidence. Corruption, murder, sex and mayhem liberally fill the pages of One Night Stand making for an interesting, richly detailed and entertaining read. This was my first read by Roland S. Jefferson. It won't be my last.

The feminist deep down in me couldn't get over the fact that the male author had made the main female character this drug addict with big boobs who is obsessed with sex. It was hard for me to really root for the lady to come out a winner when a part of me looked down on her. Other than that, the book was a good read.

This one had me up all night! Crooked cops, a redhead lawyer and a thug. This book had all the ingredients for a bestseller! They should make it into a movie!
