Killer Queens #3

To The Grave

Rate this book
I was tied to the Laniidae sorority sisters whether I liked it or not.

With Mara behind bars and Lucas Wolfe's murder pinned on her, my three admirers and I had extinguished the civil war brewing under our very noses.

Now, Laniidae needed to elect a new Martyr.

And I have to keep my growing feelings for charming Kennedy, bubbly Teresa, and vicious Xander to myself. After Xander made me hers and finally let me see the broken piece inside her, I knew my heart was in danger just as much as my life.

The horde of Cathartidae frat bros still weren't convinced that the rest of us were innocent. Especially not with my secret journal in police custody.

But taking down their newly installed leader just might make our problems disappear before Atwood University's annual Halloween Ball.

Now it was time to face my final taking justice into my own hands and facing him.

Everyday Jake was getting closer and closer to my baby brother and there wasn't much time until Will was completely lost to the pull of the CT brothers.

Would I be able to make him pay for what he'd done to me? And could I keep my shadows safe in the meantime?

I need 500 more books in this series… UGH, SOOO FREAKING GOOD!

This series has had me in a chokehold from the first book and I’m not ready to come up for air yet.

Still after three books I’m not a total fan of Xander. And maybe I hoped for more of an insight in why she’s always a ragging bitch or more of her sweet side to come out. Even tho we got a bit of that in the 2nd book. It’s just hard for me to see reason to her harsh ways…

Luckily sweet Ken and T are there to balance everything out. I love the dynamic and love they bring. Where can I find two of those? Asking for a friend.

The 🔥spice 🔥 was spicing as always!

Elle getting her justice was a great way to end this series but I still have a lot of questions and feel like somethings didn’t get a proper resolve.

i am so sad this series is over 😭😭 one of my favorite series i’ve ever read!!

i loved the individual connections Elle had with Kennedy, Teresa and Xander; their combined and individual relationships were so much fun to learn about. i was giggling and kicking my feet everytime hahah. the way Kylie Cross writes is so captivating and makes you excited for each chapter. the culty vibe of Laniidae lived up to everything i was hoping for and more.

and the smut is unmatched 100000/10🥵

i loved how thrilling this journey was and i am so excited for the next books about the motor cycle club!!🤩

Mostly Single 1st Person POV. 5🌟 5🌶️. 624 pages
7 Spicy Scenes

Last but certainly not least, To the Grave, the finally book of the Killer Queens series. A series that had me in an absolute chokehold from the beginning and one that I was devastated to see end.

Picking up directly after the events of To the Flame, To the Grave pulls us into the aftermath of LD’s coverup, Elle’s most recent screw up and the repercussions that come with that. With harsh punishments, investigations and escalations from CT, how will the LD sisters survive?

This book was like a drug for me, it was impossible to put it down the first time I read it and still impossible the third time around. There’s so much going on in this one that you won’t want to stop reading for even a second. The developing relationship between E and X had me on tenterhooks the entire time, I appreciated that a few of the chapters where from X’s POV it gave us a chance to truly know how she felt and to properly fall in love with her brutish self. Because she’s still a brute, but one that may have a soft underbelly somewhere. To the Grave felt like somewhat of a healing journey for E and in some ways X as well, while still maintaining those delicious dark and dubious elements.

The stakes were higher in this one and the payoff at the end was simply *chefs kiss*. This book had me screaming, crying and in need of a cold shower (an odd combination, but not unwelcome). The Killer Queens series is one that I will continue to circle back to simply because I cannot get enough. Do yourself a favour and read this trilogy or you’ll be missing out on something amazing!

Spoilers ahead.

First of all I had the same issue with this (e)book as with the first two - the amount of spelling errors and word choices or sentence structures that didn't quite feel right due to what I assume was a lack of editing near the end of the process. I won't dwell on that since I talked about it in the other reviews.

Something I did forget to mention in the first two reviews that I found weird throughout the trilogy is why is it portrayed as really weird that Xander won't drive anyone in her car unless they're wearing their seatbelts? Like is that not extremely normal? It was shown as though it was one of her most extreme behaviours and actions and she was literally just practicing basic road safety. Does every other character in this book universe just drive around without a seatbelt on at all times? They must do in order to think it's so weird when Xander points it out. It's really a very minor issue it's not like an actual negative quality of the stories, I just couldn't get past it because I found it really odd that everyone else treated it as odd.

I preferred Xander's character in this book, she just felt too extreme in the first two for what it felt like she was meant to be. I don't have an issue with a character being like that, it just didn't feel like it fit what we were supposed to think of her. I did like the explorations we got of some other characters, and the more in-detail looks at their backgrounds, it fleshed out some of the characters really well.

I don't have a ton to say about this, partly because I've forgotten a lot of my thoughts by now, but I reckon if you think you would enjoy this trilogy after readiong the descriptions and content warnings for it, you probably will enjoy it.

4.5⭐️

Okay the last book in the trilogy was so much better! Elle wasn’t as annoying and actually had growth. I finally got more of Xander and it was like Christmas morning being able to see ALL of them in their dynamic together.

The ending got so good, I literally could not put my kindle down once I reached 70% (well I did actually because I needed to sleep so I’d be functional at work, sigh to responsibilities). I do wish I got to see Jake suffer more because he deserved torture imo. And I kinda hoped they’d all get one more railing session out of them before the end but I hear there’s a Christmas novella I can look forward to instead.

Writing was easy to read and descriptive enough to pain the story, setting and characters clear in my mind. Spice was fucking phenomenal and I actually needed more, which is funny because that was a complaint in the previous book. Character growth for Elle is what really elevated this book for me and seeing more of Xander too because I already loved T and K, I really needed this book to solidify my love for X as well.

The series was a great time, I hope there will be books for the Apidae sisters as well!

Taking into account that I read the trilogy back to back, the further I got, the more and more attached I became to the story. At this point, I’m completely obsessed with Lannidae and the 3 shadows. Seriously, by now I’ve fully accepted that I’m going to have an emotional hangover. When I started reading To the Bone, I never imagined this would happen, but it has shot straight into my favorites. As always, the spice was… perfect.

Xander redeems themself a little in this book; at least I found them less unbearable than in the previous two, where, to me, they systematically mistreated Elle (no sugarcoating it, I think it was simply an abusive relationship).

Tere and Kennedy have continued being a mouthwatering power duo. I’ll never get over them — screw book boyfriends, let’s see who could ever measure up to these two women.

Anyway, I’ve already bought the Christmas novellete, and this trilogy definitely looks like it’s going to become my go-to comfort read.

I ended up liking the third book the most out of the trilogy. It just felt like everything finally came together, and the ending actually made sense for the kind of story it is.
What I enjoyed the most was definitely the spice🌶️🔥. It’s a multi-couple/poly story, and it’s very spicy, especially with the dom/sub dynamic. It honestly reminded me of the kind of lesbian fiction I used to read online back in the day,Which I'm going to revisit.
I enjoyed Elle with her trio, specially Elle, T and Xander..

P.S. do women like Xander really exist?? 🤤

Omg! I loved this story!

Why did this story have to end??? I’m so deeply in love with Xander, Teresa, Kennedy and Elle and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them and all of the other Laniidae sisters. I’m impatiently waiting for this author’s next book because why choose romances will always have a special place in my heart and on my kindle.

OMG!

I soooo loved this series. Kylie is an awesome author I can't wait for the next series! This series can really hit close to home especially with today's sentiment towards women & the lgbtqia+ community. While we all can agree that violence is never the answer it is still empowering to have an intellectual exploration of it. Also the spice is a lot of fun. 😋

Killer Queens!!!

This series is so crazy good. Not only are the characters flawed but they are completely relatable. I would glady watch a series on Netflix or Hulu based on these books. The spicy scenes are just a bonus! Love love

Lots of spelling errors and mistakes. Needed a lot more proofreading and editing. Also so much repetition with certain words and behaviors. I liked the series but there were a few things that didn’t make a lot of sense. The characters are great but need some polishing.

Wow

Book 3 was no slouch in the series!
Perhaps a bit more brutal than the last but completely necessary to the subject matter.
Spoiler Alert...they all live happily ever after

A good end to the series.
Good to see more interesting information about the sorority. The dynamic between Elle and Xander improved somewhat but I still would’ve liked to see some discussion on how they proceed. Overall not a bad trilogy. Definitely a unique concept.

I was Sooooo emotionaly invested in the series but this one felt like a hard punch to the gut.

I finished other two books in less than three days, that is how much i liked the story, the plot, the characters( except from Eleanor). While Xander showed some questionable traits but i was hoping this book would deliver what was necessary the most: Character Development.

The story had soo much potential but in this book author put their whole focus on delievering Smut.

The whole book was mainly focused on S*x and still they were not well written, tbh i always have a good time reading smut scenes but here i got extremely bored and hoping for the main story to pick its pace.

Mainly i was excited and hoping for the Characters Development which i believe was very much needed, especially for Xander.

Xander's character was extremly complex and i am a sucker for such disturbed yet strong fcs but the author ruined it for me.
I was hoping i would finally get to understand her, see past her alpha act, see reasons in her behaviour and finally would be able to connect with her, which i wanted so badly but🥲.......rather than the deeper understanding the author tried so hard to glorify her brutish behaviour.

Also was hoping to see some warm moments between Kennedy and Xander, to see their friendship develop, while i got the dynamic of T and X's relation, i hoped to see mutual respect in K and X's relation because K really deserved it, at times they were more mature than the Martyr.

While the whole series is about those four but in the end i was hoping to read some more of the whole sorority working together as a whole.

Eleanor's character is so so badly written it annoyed the hell out of me since the first book, i couldn't count how many times i wanted to slap her myself. But i was keeping up with it in hope for her to rise above her nonstop pulsing clit and use her brain for once.
While i do not kink shame people but this girl was on another level ,i mean Xander would be stabbing her eyeballs with a fork and she will be feeling the Jolt Straight Through her FUCKING CORE ಠ_ಠ
Not even once this girl stood up for her self which was needed time to time throughout the series and i am so done with authors writing bottoms in such a pathetic manner.

Do people actually find such pitiful humans attractive ????

I did not understad why was not only one but three smart and intelligent women were hell bent down for this girl, what was there to attract??......... seriously i am gonna stop here otherwise i have a lot to say for the bottom.

Even tho Eleanor was such a sad sack she deserved Xander's apology atleast once especialy after one incident where X's action put El in danger ,but it never came.

Xander earned my respect in previous 2 books but in the end author tried so hard to paint her as a 'Ruthless leader who did not command respect but demanded it' and ended up writing an emotionally immature with unresolved trauma and anger, standoffish to a fault, Entitled and haughty character.

While having more than 600 pages and being third book of the triology, the book feels unfinished in so many ways except in a good way.

Character Description was not completely neglected like the previous books but it was still not written well.

In the end their bonds didn't feel meaningful and now the whole series feels cartoonish to me.

But i still have high expectation from the upcoming Valemont book because while i am deeply dissapointed with this book i still believe the author has great potential and their writing would evolve in future.

I am giving two stars only because of Ken and DA Burns🔥🔥.
