A collection of short horror stories for those who like to look at the macabre, the weird, the gory, the insane...but just can't quite commit to performing the vile things they see in their heads. This book is for those people who wake up in the morning and wonder if they are okay...really okay. There are tales of engagements gone wrong, marriages gone wrong, doctor visits gone wrong, summer camp gone wrong, Naval service gone wrong, housekeeping gone wrong...people gone wrong. You may have stories of your own about those who have snapped. You hope it never happens to you, but it will. For some of you, it will.
Just write! Dan writes. Well, actually, he types... so he's more of a typist than a writer. If he's any good at it is really up to you, and none of his business.
Leave a review, seriously, it's okay.
Dan lives in small town Midwest and writes and makes short films. He owes his imagination to his two beautiful children, and the guts to put it out there to a loving...and patient wife.

24 stories of varying length, all brimming with creepy twists, original ideas, and talent! I hadn't read this author before, so discovering such a great horror collection was a pleasant surprise! The writing is compelling, the stories adjusted to the right length, never outstaying their welcome, and every little detail can be easily visualized thanks to the precise language and the natural sounding dialogue. What's more, some of the stories are obviously grounded in the author's personal experience in the Navy, and they were among the best of the collection. My favorite stories were some of the longer ones and one very short tale: the opening story, "Anderson Wake," was terrific, with an incredible revelation in the ending about the narrator's mother, which is handled absolutely beautifully by the narrator himself; "Dracula Knocks," a perfect ghost story I'm not going to spoil for you - just read it! - "Midwatch," a Navy story unlike any other, full of suspense and terror; and the short "Seventeen," a weird and nightmarish story of a guy going into a basement. It's refreshing to find an author who has no trouble with animal abuse (see "The Perfect Man," a nicely done serial killer tale, which troubled me a bit with its representation of women, and "Worse Than Me," a disturbing story of a car accident victim having to fight off more threats than he thinks possible), violence, or any other triggering situations usually avoided by horror fans(!). Recommended!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A talented actor, that is reflected in these varying short stories. They are all unique in themselves, and very well thought out and developed. Enjoyed this bundle!
