Emma Knight is starting over—one batch of cookies at a time. After losing everything in the city, she returns to Willowbrook with one open her own bakery and prove to herself that she can stand on her own two feet. But renovations don’t come easy, and neither does working with Noah Sullivan—the quiet, rugged contractor with a heart of gold hidden behind layers of gruffness. As flour flies and sparks ignite, Emma starts to wonder… is the life she’s been searching for the one she left behind?
Welcome to Willowbrook, where fresh starts are always on the menu and love has a way of sneaking in when you least expect it. With cozy bakery vibes, slow-burn romance, and a swoon-worthy hero, this story is the perfect recipe for a feel-good happily ever after.
2025 52 Book Challenge - Summer Connections Mini Challenge - 14) Character Shares Profession With Previous Character (my previous book was The Rules of Time Travel by L. A. Birchon)
This was really sweet and wholesome, and was really good if you're looking for a gentle book to recover from a really deep or emotional book.
However, I personally found it quite boring. Like, I like something to happen in my books, but this was the type of book that even when she was handed a problem - for instance, it's raining heavily and they worry that the roof will leak - the problem is resolved within two pages, and you never feel like there is any trouble or problems that will actually do anything.
This is wholesome contemporary romance and hometown feel good story. You're drawn to this slower simple pasted life and that warm comfortable feeling of family, friends and community has to offer. The characters and interesting, friendly and helpful. This book is uplifting and inspiring I highly recommend. Happy reading.
I loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good clean book with a happy ending. The characters were very relatable like some one I know in real life.
Was a bit slow paced for me but was an easy read to read alongside some of the heavier fantasy reads I’ve been reading at the moment. Very cosy small town story
Meh. This was short but every obstacle that came up was resolved within a single sentence. Everything was so “perfect” it really just didn’t hit for me. Nothing goes that smoothly opening a business 🤣 I want a little conflict or pushback or something.
