This is an imaginative story line and a fun read. As is so common with kindle e-books the typo's are rampant. At times the typo errors are kind of funny, which can make a serious part funny instead, but it can also make a the line of thought sound stupid too! Just a thought to the author, if you are going to have cliffhanger book endings it's best to have the next in line ready to go. A two to three month delay can leave a reader frustrated and that leads to lost readers. Just sayin.
I've enjoyed the series so far, Jacobs paints a vivid picture with a rich world and reasonably flushed out characters, no easy trick. The problem i have with this book is that it stops in the middle of the story arc. The other books had a backline story, but usually with a smaller but significant story arc that completes. This one seems to have some very small plot points resolve, but doesn't have the satisfaction of a major arc closing. Fortunately the next in the series is out. If I consider this to be half of the 19/20 book, I think I could live with it.
When I read the first book of the series I had to read it a second time a while later and then started to read the rest of the series. Eddie is a great character and his development has been consistent. The addition of all of his wives and the interaction between them is very well portrayed. I am ready to read this book again before the next book is published. Logan Jacobs is great at character and story line development.
The author does a marvelous job of handling numerous amounts of characters and keeping them all relevant. The plot is well paced and full of the ups and downs of real life, but heartwarming enough to give the reader great joy. I have enjoyed this series immensely! Bring on Book 20.
I’ve been going through these stories for 2ish years and am wholeheartedly enjoying the journey. Hopefully the next several will arrive soon…… and maybe the British will make an appearance and vice versa
Book19 is more great storytelling. Eddie is still working to finish locating the final pieces of his armor. Lots more challenges come to the good guys and this episode is well written leaving the readers asking “What next?”.
I enjoyed the new places and people introduced in this book. New allies are always interesting and the story expands to include their new enemies. Leading into a massive battle is a nice teaser!
It was getting sooo good and BAM cliffhanger! Now I’m stuck here jonsing for volume 20. It was such a great volume that I could barely put it down except to go to work and even then I would sneak a few paragraphs while hiding out in the bathroom.
A good book in the series with plenty of action, adventure, mystery, intrigue, suspense, humor, terror, magic, violence, and romance. Eager for next book.
It's finally time for Eddie and company to move on the Deeper Dark. Part 1 in building alliances with the people living in the dark and taking out the trash. Tom out
Well Eddie seems to be in quite a pickle! He has gone to the Deeper Dark to find something to save his friend. Now he finds himself in the middle of a possible war!
Perfect Ten In The Backyard But only four out of five stars? Why is that? There’s always room for improvement or another addition. Eddie is working on getting that tenth wife, amongst other grand ideas.
As for my ideas on this book… Well, having finished nineteen of them, and I plan on getting the twentieth, I’d say I’m a fan. Though I feel Logan Jacobs is getting a tad desperate, judging by the endings. That was a good part, but as for my favorite, I’d say when Xung rose to power. But my least favorite was, let’s say, the “White Savior” complex when it came to Cruden. Learned men will like the story overall. And I do, but I can’t say I’d recommend this one.
Great addition to this series. The action just keeps getting better. They have finally gotten to the Deeper Dark. I won't tell you what is happening, you will have to read it for yourself.
