De vampierkoning heeft ons de oorlog verklaard en we zijn er totaal niet op voorbereid. Als we ook maar een kans willen maken, hebben we een leger nodig. Maar bondgenoten vinden in een wereld vol eeuwenoude vijanden is allesbehalve eenvoudig.
Niemand weet wie deze strijd zal overleven wanneer het stof eindelijk is neergedaald. Toch is er geen weg meer terug. Als we deze wereld willen redden, zal ik elke kant van mezelf moeten omarmen… zelfs de delen waar ik het meest bang voor ben.

Mijn ervaring:
Wat een grandioos, spannend en ijzersterk vervolg op het verhaal van Grace en haar vrienden. De dreiging van de oorlog is voortdurend tastbaar en de inzet is groter dan ooit. Terwijl de vampierkoning steeds sterker lijkt te worden en zijn plannen verder doorzet, moeten Grace en haar vrienden alles op alles zetten om hem te stoppen. Maar voordat dat lukt, zal Grace eerst antwoorden moeten vinden over haar afkomst en haar eigen kracht, antwoorden die opnieuw voor grote onthullingen en ingrijpende veranderingen zorgen.

Tracy Wolff heeft een heerlijke, filmische, toegankelijke en vlotte schrijfstijl waardoor je moeiteloos weer volledig in het verhaal wordt gezogen. Court 1 en Court 2 sluiten naadloos op elkaar aan en voelen daardoor als één groot, doorlopend avontuur. Het tempo ligt hoog en het verhaal zit vol actie, drama, spanning en romantische ontwikkelingen. Alles voelt nog intenser dan in het vorige deel.

De kracht van deze serie zit voor een groot deel in de personages. Grace groeit verder in haar rol en leert omgaan met de verantwoordelijkheden en krachten die bij haar afkomst horen. Ook de andere personages krijgen opnieuw veel diepgang. Hun innerlijke conflicten, de sterke groepsdynamiek en de spanningen binnen de groep maken het verhaal menselijk, intens en pakkend.

Dit deel voelt bovendien als het meest intense en aangrijpende deel van de serie tot nu toe. De verschillende plotlijnen lopen moeiteloos door elkaar heen zonder dat het verhaal onoverzichtelijk wordt. Dankzij het hoge tempo, de korte hoofdstukken en de vele wendingen leest het boek ontzettend verslavend. Tracy Wolff weet de spanning continu op te bouwen. Als lezer zit je in een ware achtbaan van emoties: meerdere keren zat ik met ingehouden adem, een brok in mijn keel en vol verbijstering te lezen.

Thema’s als identiteit, loyaliteit en de last van afkomst spelen opnieuw een grote rol. Ook het idee van een ‘gevonden familie’ komt in dit deel misschien wel het sterkst naar voren. Juist die onderlinge band geeft het verhaal extra emotionele kracht.

Court 2 is een verrassend, ijzersterk, mega spannend en verslavend vervolg. Het sluit perfect aan op Court 1, is filmisch en vlot geschreven en bevat nog meer actie, drama, spanning en romantiek. Dit deel heeft mijn verwachtingen ruimschoots overtroffen. Grandioos. Hopelijk worden Charm en Cherish ook snel vertaald.

This series guys 😩. I absolutely loved it and the ending was so wholesome. If you haven’t read it yet then please do. You won’t regret it! 5/5⭐️ book for me.

This is the fourth book in the series and you get to follow Grace and the gang again for their final battle against Silus. Will she manage to get the support she needs in time? Is she willing to risk it all to save her friends? Or will she loose everyone she loves including her gargoyle?

This series just AHHHHH, love it! It’s absolutely amazing and one of my new favorite. It was just such a nice listen and I will put this as one of the series I will never stop recommending. It had the banter, the humor, the action, the plot, the development, the characters! It had absolutely everything! So are you looking for a good romantasy? Look over here! Here’s one!

Grace is immature, whiny, weak, pathetic

such a missed opportunity because Jaxon and Hudson are the most interesting being a vampire with magic. which is something i haven't come across in other book series yet.

I really liked this book, there was a lot of action. Sometimes it was a bit to much action for me. I would've loved if they would rest a little more and build there friendship/love. But I get that it was not possible in the setting it was written. I love Hudson and Grace together. And oh my, that accent from Hudson in the graphic audio. It makes it perfect 😍

Loved this book.

You don't know what the other person in any given situation is dealing with or their reasoning for being there. Tracy Wolff did a great job showing that fact and showing that leading with kindness can sometimes be the key.
