It’s 2010 and Frank has had about enough of left-wing crazies forcing their socialist policies on him, especially his unhinged sisters, one of whom has been caring for their mom in London.
Meanwhile Frank’s son is delivering death from a trailer on Creech Airforce Base where he controls a predator drone 7,000 miles away in Afghanistan. And his sister’s lesbian girlfriend, Angie (see what I mean), is on the ground in Haiti when the earthquake that killed over 200,000 people hits.
As Frank learns that Britain’s National Health Service will no longer pay to keep his comatose mother alive, and his son becomes obsessed (from afar) with the daughter of one of his military targets and as Angie risks her life to save a young girl in Haiti, each of these extreme backdrops will reveal how we assign ‘value’ to a human life… and each will deliver a profound miracle of acceptance, compassion and understanding.

A powerful story that entertains, uplifts, and inspires. Although this is not a normal genre I would read, it was a good story of the worth of human life from different perspectives.
Told from three separate POV, the stories all intertwine with unexpected miracles for each of the characters, and the decisions they make.
Frank has just learned that the care for his comatose mother who is on life support can no longer be provided by healthcare. Along with his sisters he must make the heartbreaking decision of either turning off life support or to continue their mother’s care at their own expense.
In Haiti, which has been devastated by an earthquake, Angie fights for survival as well as that of a group of newly orphaned children. She must find a way to save her life as well as theirs.
Jim stationed in Afghanistan has been assigned a kill order on a man whose daughter Jim has become obsessed with in an imaginary relationship. He’s faced with the decision to follow or not follow orders.
A good look at decisions made in regard to human life.
