If nothing else Rahlo is loyal. The five-letter word runs through his veins like blood and expels from his body like his next breath.
With a new contract on the table, the rap star learns that fame and fortune don't necessarily change you. It changes the people around you.
Taylor is living her best life! The plus-size beauty unapologetically challenges society's rules for big girls. With a slick mouth and dangerous curves, Taylor captures the eye of a rapper who has her questioning her current relationship.
Take a ride with the duo as they navigate through money-hungry family members and heart-numbing betrayals. Together they learn that being loyal to the wrong people comes with a price that can cost them their lives!
My book buddy, Lette Reads, referred to Ladii Nesha as The Mistress of Mess and I cannot think of a more appropriate title. Insert the sound “Boy we had a time last night” here because, a time was definitely had. All of Rah’s hard work has finally paid off. After selling mixtapes out the trunk of his car, standin’ on the corner passin’ out hundreds of flyers, recording in the friend of a friend of a friend’s “studio,” and performing at hole in the walls he’s signed a lucrative contract with a major record label. Our boy is goin’ big time and he’s taking everybody with him. That was his first, second, and third mistake. Rah’s loyalty was both a blessing and a curse. He was the quintessential rapper who wanted to share his success and put everybody on but, unfortunately for Rah, his devotion to his friends and family blinded him to how deceitful they really were which, allowed them to take full advantage of him. Everybody ain’t your friend and just because their blood don’t make them family was a running theme in Rah’s circle. Taylor is a BBW influencer by day and waitress at one of the hottest clubs at night. Sis is livin’ her best 24 year old life. When she’s not taking care of her three guys (her daddy, her little brother, and her grandfather), she’s constantly stroking the ego of her toxic, clingy, insecure, and psychotic azz boyfriend. To say Jasper had an unhealthy attachment to Taylor would be a huge understatement. Jasper is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and he definitely has an upcoming episode on 48 Hours, 20/20, and the ID network. As always, Ladii Nesha came through with a cast of sidekicks that practically stole the whole book. Kiki, Kool, Trooper, and Papa gave us top tier comedic relief that had me rollin’ from start to finish. And, lets give the villains of this story their flowers because they earned them. Emory, Sherri, and Jada showed up and showed TF out and I don’t mean that in a good way. Finally Famous was a phenomenal read. The storyline was engaging, it was funny as hell, and the romance between Taylor and Rah was a breath of fresh air. I've come to expect nothing less than greatness from a Ladii Nesha production and sis did not disappoint with this book.
A time was had!!!!!!!! Ladii Nesha we bow at your feet because sis you’re the G.O.A.T.! 🙌🏽we’re not worthy🙌🏽we’re not worthy🙌🏽….Ain’t no other author touching her when it comes to the drama, comedic relief and plot twists that she’s able to wrap into a story and seal with a bow! Finally Famous gave all she intended and more and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book! I laughed🤣, I cried😭 and I definitely side eyed 😒!
Rahlo was the definition of loyal! If he said he had you, he HAD YOU! Sadly that loyalty came with a price and it cost him tremendously! His rise to fame brought on vultures and as the money rolled in, the snakes took advantage! You may want to take everyone along during your rise of success but everybody can’t go and it took loss after loss and secret after secret before Rah understood this!
Taylor was a firecracker and I LOVED her!! The confidence, the style and grace were not to be underestimated. She was a trendsetter and brought b*tches to their knees. Unfortunately after the loss of her mother, her grief put her in a vulnerable situation that led her to the arms of the wrong man! Chyyyyyy I don’t think I’ve seen a character switch up and go dateline crazy in a minute! Jasper was lifetime movie certified 😵💫!!!
Bruce, a rider!! Esha a rider!! Kiki, a MF RIDER!!!
Kool, Papa and Trooper need to take their act on the road because everything that came from their mouths was pure comedy!
Jasper, Sherri, Jada and Emory got what y’all deserved!
I’m torn regarding Dukes demise! I wanted him to suffer and he was too far gone for help but he was a victim of his circumstances and couldn’t pull himself out. Yes Rah needed to cut ties with him 100% but I honestly did feel a little bit bad for him in the end…. Just 🤏🏽
Nesha gave us an amazing well rounded masterpiece and I’m forever a fan of hers! Definitely a top read of 2023
Man the book was funny as hell! This was my first read by Ladii Nesha and I see why people enjoy her books. Her books are funny, easy to read, and flows well. I cannot wait to read more from her.
Just add this to your tbr list cause one thing Ladii Nesha is gonna do is write a book. Fame comes with a lot of responsibility, and it's really an emotional roller coaster. Although money doesn't change you, the people around you do, and boy were they showing out. Never before have I read of a rap artist signing a contract and then having to adjust to the new circumstances. Rahlo was excessively devoted to people who didn't deserve it, and his family was a mess. The snakes benefited from his newfound prominent status. While on his journey, Rahlo learned through secrets and loss. Taylor was that bitch , and I loved her. I really like how well she and Rahlo meshed and wish we'd seen more of it. Maybe Im just greedy. She was quite sincere and I believe she adjusted well to his lifestyle. You guys know by now that Ladii Nesha is going to deliver the comedy and the messy drama, and she did not disappoint. I especially appreciated the comic relief provided by Trooper, Kool, and Papa. We had riders like Esha, Kiki, and Bruce among the snakes. I was happy to see Dai crazy ass make an appearance. FUCK crazy ass Jasper and hairy pussy ass Sherri. Also Emory I hope that hoe rot her ungrateful ass in jail.
Ladii Nesha knows she is the GOAT with balancing comedy, love, and drama in her stories. I loved every minute of this story and I laughed A LOT!
Rahlo's rise to fame as an up and coming rapper was full of ups and downs like a roller coaster ride. He was grinding hard and had signed with a label and his management was creating more opportunities for him to take care of his family and friends. At every corner someone had their hand out and there was a strong lack of appreciation that came with it. Emory was the saddest most trifling trash azz excuse for a momma. She had some nerve to expect Rah to take care of her when she showed him no love at all. She deserved every bit of karma she received. Rah's best friend Duke, whom he held down was such a disappointment. Folks that should have been loyal turned out to be snakes and it was hard to watch all of it unfold. When Rah met Taylor he new she was destined to be his and although it took them awhile he ended up finding solace in her.
Taylor was young and had found love with an older man. Jasper was head over heels in love with Taylor and doted on her as much as he could. Unfortunately, he was clingy af and his attachment to her was unhealthy. Jasper had left a marriage where his wife cheated and it was very clear it fkd up his mental and made him very insecure. Taylor went through it and when she was finally able to get away, she was left with a gift that would potentially bind her with Jasper forever. Life lifes and Taylor finds herself at a crossroad and Rah enters her life again at the right time. Together they were magic. Chemistry was everything. I loved the way they held each other down and supported each other through life's challenges. Whew they were fighting hard for their happiness.
Taylor had a slick mouth and the way she popped off had me dying so many times. Kiki and her antics especially when talking stuff about ole girls breath, I bout died. Troop was bad af. He was always doing too much and I agree with Papa he definitely needed a whooping lol. Papa had to be my fave, he was a hand full and hilarious yet didn't play about his family at all.
This book is gonna take you through it. You will love or hate the characters, but you will connect with them. You will laugh a lot. You will also empathize with so many of the situations that occurred. Such a good book. Oh and this cover is everything!! It perfectly represents the story.
One thing Nesha is going to do is make us laugh. Papa did not have to be that funny and Trooper did not have to be so bad 😂 Along with the laughs, she showed us that on the road to success- you can’t take everybody with you. Rahlo had the dysfunctional family and Taylor had a maniac for an ex boyfriend so their story had the messy element that I love. We all need a bestie like Kiki - down for whatever, whenever!
The Mistress of Mess did it again!!! Drama, messy and hilarious!! I’m glad people got what they deserved!! I’m hoping best friend Kiki get a book! Dai still a FOOL😂😂
I've come to expect nothing less than laughter, drama, toxic, and lots of love and amazing sex scenes when it comes to Ladii Neesha. She never fails to deliver. Rhalo made it out of the hood, but the hood was still in him. His music was dominating the charts. He was rubbing shoulders with some of the hottest names in the industry. But deep down, he never forgot where he came from. That man was loyal to a fault. Even to those who didn't deserve his loyalty. As he balances his fame, fortune, and his love life, all the wolves in sheep's clothing start to reveal themselves. Taylor was the thick baddie who caught Rah's attention. She was beautiful, she was confident and had a heart of gold. We love Taylor. Heart break led her to a toxic relationship with an older man; Jasper. I almost wanted to feel bad for Jasper, but damn it, he made it hard. Taylor and Rah had a strong chemistry. Even in friendship. But, once they crossed over that friendship line, it was no turning back for them. The world would not let them be great. They fought so fůćƙịṅģ hard for their love and HEA. This story had everything. You will cackle, laugh out loud, you'll get angry, you'll cry, you'll want to empathize with some, and you'll be rooting for the demise and downfall of others. The side characters honestly gave this story so much more life. Dai making an appearance was everything. Still crazy af. If you've read anything by Ladii Neesha previously and enjoyed it, then add this to your list immediately. You'll be in for a wild treat.
Ladii Nesha has done it again! It took me so long to read this because I’ve been studying for midterms. But I am so glad I came back to this book. I shed a few tears reading this story. I think this might be my favorite by her so far! Rah and Taylor’s story was everything. I mean the way they met, their tension and their banter. I couldn’t wait for them to finally take things to the next level. Not to mention the friendships in this book is also what makes it so enjoyable. Kiki is a real ride or die! I was also sad when Rah lost his best friend, Duke. I had mixed feelings about him, but you can just tell he was dealt a bad hand in his life. It was weird without him being there.. This is so much more than a drama-filled romantic love story and that’s why I love it so much. I was not expecting that plot twist at the end, what a sick man Jasper is.
one thing about ladii nesha.. you will laugh, cry, & receive some life gems from her books.
taylor and rah's love story wasn't ideal and took some time to create but baby it was worth the rollercoaster!
i loveddd taylor's personality from the beginning! confident. daring. quick with the comebacks. all of that! she made the story better because of her sassiness. i loved the way she was loved by her family and her outlook on a lot of things. her development throughout the story was a beautiful one to witness. dealing with jasper's deranged/controlling ass and sherri's jealous/vindictive self was enough to make her crack but my girl prevailed. so glad that jasper's craziness popped off at the right time for her to fall into rah's arms.
rah's rag to riches story was a beautiful one to watch unfold. everything in life that could've broke him didn't. his crazy ass mama, crackhead reformed daddy (s/o to chef), jealous and manipulative bestfriend duke, and lexi's conniving ass. all should've made him crack but he didn't. his heart was still open to love .. which makes him & taylor's story that much sweeter.
book favs: kiki- the perfect girl bestfriend! ride or die. papa- funny af! comebacks always on point. i truly enjoyed him! kool- his name was perfect. a kool ass neighbor to lean on. esha- a real ass bitch & sister!
i would have loved to see where bruce/kiki ended up. what happened to lexi? is lily okay?

This book had me hollering from beginning to end. Between Papa, Kiki & Tay I was in tears! Their chemistry was everything do yo hear me! I didn’t feel bad for Sherri at all. I did feel bad for Jalen though because he loved Tay. She almost got cussed out and put on my list! Fantastic job
She’s baaaaaack! The foolishness, recklessness, and shenanigans that only Ladii Nesha can create are in full effect and had me reading every one of these pages in one sitting. Rahlo and T-Baby were a vibe on their own. These two had a lot going on and adding in my man Chef and lil man Trooper... I haven't laughed this hard in a while 😂 We’re given a new set of highly entertaining characters. I found a few favorites, but if you’ve read any books by this author, you know every character has an impact. Speaking of characters, there were a couple cameos of people and places that had me screaming! Only Ladii Nesha can have a million characters and chaotic storylines, and somehow I remember a past character and call his name like he's real 🤦🏾♀️ I am always amazed that through all of the mayhem, Ladii Nesha finds love for some characters in the end. She is definitely a queen in these literary streets. I always want more from the characters, and a few could have a story in the future, so I’ll have to wait and see. Until then, I'm going to enjoy this high Rahlo's young behind has me on😝😏
Pure dopamine in these pages!! Normal I horde her books away like a squirrel for a rainy reading day! My slump buster author has never failed me. But there was no way I was going to not read this the moment it dropped when my fav said she was give me a plus size baddie. But momma did NOT have to put me through all these emotional changes. Ugh!! Outside of the romance which was a little lite but I think that’s because this was more of a life story. She still made every moment between Rah and Taylor count. This was a cast of absolute characters. Papa was absolutely my favorite and the funniest, followed by Trooper, then KiKi. I fell in love with Taylor at 8% in, and I don’t know when I fell with Rah but that’s bae for sure. This was all the things you love and expect from a Ladii Nesha story and the cameo from my fav was the icing on the cake!
I would recommend this to everyone who is looking for a journey about two people falling in love. The way be knew was so good and unique. Not on a insta -love vibe but really different. So many themes, forgiveness, redemption, grief, transitions through phases of life. Also love, commitment, and loyalty. Violence and death can't overshadow Rahlo and Taylor falling in love. Humorous with good sex AND A HEA. This was well written, had me invested from the beginning.
Listen!!! This book was so entertaining from the first page until the last! I believe Nesha should be a comedian, because every other page I was in tears laughing at the banter between these characters. Rah and Tay Tay had an instant connection and my boy was adamant about getting his girl. The drama was jaw dropping…. seriously I didnt see some things coming and I almost shed a thug tear a couple of times. PaPa reminds me of Check sooooo bad. The ending was perfect! Well worth the wait Nesha!
The story was sad, humorous, character driven and very complex. I liked that Taylor was a BBW with a lot of confidence and personality. It did become overdone a bit when every other page the author reminded me that Taylor was a BBW. I heard you love...The family dynamics were what kept me invested in this story more than the sexy sides. Taylor's little brother Trooper, her dad and grandfather, Chef, Kool and Kimi had me in stitches most of the time. Honestly, that crew pulled the storyline. Here's why you will get caught in this tangled tale: Rahlo's tenacity to make Taylor his girl was admirable. I enjoyed their relationship. The side story with his friend Duke's deception, and his mother's depravity, I was ready for that group to meet Karma San Diego. Taylor's ex Jasper will not get any airtime from this reader. (Whispers). ..You will see my point later.. The story was worth reading and to experience. 4 stars.
This was honestly a 5 star read, I was so into from start to finish. But that ending before the ended had me so upset and sad, that I put 4 when I finished the book lol. First of all, this book was hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing at all the funny commentary. I loved Taylor and Rahlo together, I feel like I want more of their future story together. Jasper deserves to be under the jail, right along with Rahlo’s trashhhhhh mama. Kiki kept me smiling, that’s a good friend right there. A love story amongst a bunch of trauma, but I def enjoyed the read.
This book had me laughing out loud, yelling at the characters, and shedding tears for them. Rah & Tay’s relationship is definitely one for the books 😅🤎
Another Ladii Nesha book that sucked me in immediately and kept my attention the whole time. I loved Rahlo and Taylor.
Ladii Nesha writes hilarious characters. Rahlo was hilarious af, but Papa really shined and was hilarious AF.
I wasn’t expecting to get teary eyed reading this one. I loved Rahlo’s support and care for his friends and family (even tho who didn’t deserve any at all).
I loved Taylor’s character so much. She didn’t play, was funny, knew her worth and loved Rahlo down. Her and Kiki were the best duo.
Maybe it’s because I read Losin Control just a few weeks ago and adored it and it’s stuck in my mind some of the major plot devices did feel a little too similar. However I still loved this story.
Taylor and Rahlo ~ Their story was a wild one for sure. I haven’t had a book make me so mad one page and have me busting out laughing the next. This book has it all with the drama , toxicity , love , and banter . This book had some really deep messages that I really felt . Neither Rah or Taylor deserved some of the stuff they went through but I think it made their love story that much worth it .
P.S ~ Kool and Pops have a special place in my heart ❤️ them two clowns had me laughing every time they opened they mouths !!!!
Chiiiiiiile…Money don’t change you. It changes the folk around you! They’ll do something strange all for a lil piece of change! Rah had BDE….Big Dimple Energy, TF y’all thought I was talking about? And T Baby was the right one to receive it! One of the children in this book must be the lost triplet of Bambi and King Carter cuz son is bad as hell! Stop reading this review and read this book immediately!
Listen!!! I loved this love story…. But Papa and Chef might have been my favorite people! They made my day with the quick come backs and wit! I laughed so and my heart smiled through this entire story!!!
I must say this was good and hilarious. Papa and Kiki had me rolling. Let's not forget Troop. It was like I was watching a movie. So good. Rah and Taylor were everything.
