Sometimes when you have to wait for a book to come out, you can be filled with so much hope and expectation only for it to end in an anticlimax... This is most definitely NOT one of those times.

KJ Waters' concluding instalment to the 'Stealing Time' series was every bit as good as I hoped it would be and more.

With characters you love and ones you absolutely despise entwined with a completely gripping storyline involving time travel, love, laughter, tears and the ultimate of betrayals... This is a book I guarantee you will not want to put down. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't.

if you've read the first three books in the series you will not want to miss this epic conclusion and if you haven't.... Go and grab a copy of them now. You will not be disappointed.

Reading FRACTURING TIME is like watching a juggling act, where author KJ Waters keeps multiple characters, multiple timelines, and multiple settings orbiting around her main character, Ronnie, in this action-packed fourth book in the Stealing Time series.

Having not read any of the prior books in the series, I struggled a bit to understand the relationships and events that led up to FRACTURING TIME. Also, I imagine having been alongside the characters, living the moments with them from the get-go, would make a reader feel more connected and invested, and even repelled. Waters provides readers with a few good bring-to-dates and insights along the way, which helps. But, I won't recommend it as a stand-alone book. Instead, I recommend the series because you'll want to know all the delicious details, start to finish.
“Stephanie McKay studied the threatening sky, bracing herself for Orlando’s daily summer ritual, those few hours when Mother Nature threw her tantrum.”

Waters’s own experiences living in Florida surely aided her in creating such accurate and realistic situations for readers to experience (vicariously, thank goodness). However, it’s clear the author has done copious amounts of research into historical events, law enforcement procedures, medical conditions, and of course, weather events. Sometimes scenes went on a bit long and one seemed intentionally ghoulish to me, but they definitely illustrated the deep research.

The characters in FRACTURING TIME are fleshed out and are written so that we hear the lilt in Steph's and Ian's voices, the seething in Jeffery's, and the time stamp of 1752 in Appleton's, to name a few. This lends an extra level of authenticity to the characters and the intriguing, even outrageous subplots in which they are involved.

I read an ARC of FRACTURING TIME and found some editing issues, but I assume those have been cleaned up in the final version available for sale. For this new-to-the-series reader, some re-reading of passages was required to try to grasp what was happening, which is pretty mind blowing and imaginative; but it works. Plus, having scenes told from multiple viewpoints (including one from a highly-medicated character) gives us a better understanding of the bigger picture. BONUS: if like me you love when a cover and book title tie-in to the story, you'll be pleased.

In the “A Letter to My Readers” section at the end of the book, author KJ Waters says, “I’ve wrapped up the storyline in the fourth book in the series, but I have at least two others in the works. I’m also going to write some spin-offs.” Hooray! In FRACTURING TIME, there are definitely some set-ups for more books. While Waters is writing, I’ll backtrack to book one and read current to be ready for more adventures. Standing by!

Fracturing Time is a breathless, high-stakes crescendo to a series that’s never been afraid to bend the rules of reality. From the storm-lashed beginnings of Stealing Time to this fourth instalment’s plague-ridden hospital corridors and time-warped threats, KJ Waters has crafted a world where adrenaline and emotion collide.

Ronnie and Mike’s journey has always been more than just a thrill ride—it’s a story of resilience, memory, and the fragile threads that tether us to the present. In Fracturing Time, those threads are fraying fast. The hurricane, the bioterror threat, the haunting presence of Jeffrey Brennan—it all builds to a fever pitch, yet Waters never loses sight of the human heart at the centre of it all.

What makes this series so compelling isn’t just the time travel mechanics or the cinematic pacing—it’s the emotional stakes. Each book deepens the characters, sharpens the tension, and leaves you wondering not just what will happen next, but what it will cost.

If you’ve followed Ronnie’s journey from the start, this finale feels like a reckoning. And if you’re new to the series, prepare to be swept away. It’s a wild, intelligent ride—and it’s been a joy to travel through time with it.

My sincere thanks to KJ Waters for the ARC!

Wow this series just keeps on getting more exciting and terrifying, and in this, book 4 which might have given us an ending to what has been Ronnie's harrowing experience with time travel is the most adrenaline inducing. Ronnie travels to Puerto Rico with her boss Mike for a work related event, but once again they get caught up in a hurricane and are battered to hell and back. They know Jeffrey her ex, and the one who has been using her in his time travel experiments is in Puerto Rico too, and he is out to hound them again. Jeffrey has hired thugs to do his work for him, namely a guy called Sarge who is a real sadist. Meanwhile in Florida her best friend Steph gets hit by the germ of the beubonic plague from the watch Ronnie brought back from her time in the UK of the earlier ages. She is on the verge of losing her life, whilst Ian her brother, and Nick her boyfriend are going out of their wits with anxiety. Mike suffers brain trauma and is in an induced coma, and it is during this harrowing time that Jeffrey strikes once again. This book makes for edge of the seat reading and a nail biting experience till the last page. It might have brought us to a closure but I believe we are to get some more time travelling books in this series and I look forward to these.

In the early part of this book I felt a little bit lost. There were pieces that I couldn't quite follow or understand. As time went on more pieces came together. By the time I reached the end I realized that there are three books that preceded this one. No wonder I was a little lost! I have to say that I was satisfied at the conclusion.
There are two main characters and a group of others that are in and out of the story line. The main characters are Ronnie and Mike. The trouble maker (bad guy) is Jeffery. He has a few accomplices. The story moves back and forward in the main time line. Eventually this all makes sense. Oh and did I mention that there are a few trips to the distant past. Those contribute to the puzzle pieces. To compound the time slices and travel there is a hurricane at the same time. The ending was quite satisfying and probably brings some closure to the longer story line over the four books. If you like adventure and time travel you should enjoy this story.
Lastly I should mention that I received this book as a free give away. My review was not influenced by this.

Fracturing Time was a fantastic conclusion to the series. This installment not only featured multiple timelines but also multiple settings, with Ronnie and her boss Mike in Puerto Rico, while Ronnie’s best friend Steph, her brother Ian, and her boyfriend Nick were in Florida.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Steph contracts the bubonic plague from Ronnie’s watch, confirming that Ronnie truly did time travel—but raising the question of what on earth they should tell the authorities.

Things get a little mind-bending with both Ronnie and Mike time travelling. At one point, Ronnie is in the hospital with Mike while he is simultaneously time travelling to a place and time that Ronnie herself also travels to—but from a completely different point in time. It’s one of those scenarios you just have to read to fully grasp.

The title of the book becomes especially meaningful through Mike’s journeys, and along the way he encounters an important time traveller who adds another layer to the story.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

This is the fourth and final book of the series and what a journey it’s been. Ronnie has been sent back in time on several occasions to different places and times.

Poor Ronnie doesn’t realise just how manipulative her boyfriend is until it’s almost too late and too many of her close friends suffer.

I’ve often thought about how I’d like to travel back in time to experience historic events however after reading this series I think I’ve changed my mind. I’ll just read about history instead.

This story gripped me right from the start and I would advise anyone thinking about reading it to do so but allow themselves time to read it as it’s not easy to put down.

4.25⭐️ I jumped from the 1st book in the series to this last one, and I adore how much it's only gotten better! While this can be enjoyed on its own without reading the 3 previous books first, the dots connect and storylines tie together so impressively that it made reading this even more fun.

Some of the phrases and descriptions used feel a little out of place, like they don't match the mood of the scene or seem repetitive, but between both books I've read, I think this author keeps upgrading her writing style! Her knowledge of history, hurricanes, and medical content shine throughout the story.

I received an ARC of Fracturing Time in exchange for my honest review.

I began reading this book at a disadvantage. I haven't read the first three books in this series so much of what I read was unfamiliar to me. As I continued to read however, enough of the past events were explained that I no longer felt lost. That said, I found the book compelling and able to keep me reading late into the night. The characters were well developed even if not always likable (i.e. Jeffrey). As a Florida resident, I found the descriptions of hurricane damage tracked with actuality. Scary, I admit. I also liked the descriptions of the past realms the characters were sent to.
I look forward to more from this author.

They say that good things take time, and the more you wait the better they are. This saying applies perfectly to this book. It may be that this one is the best of the series, and for that reason you, the reader, have to read the previous ones in order to get the most out of this book, and frankly out of the series, because on this one we get answers to all the questions we have had throughout the story and clarity on all the main plots on it.
This book takes you on a high ride throughout its pages until the last one, given yourself enough time to read it because once you start you cannot put it down.

Fracturing Time delivers on its promise of a thrilling ride. It grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go.

The high-stakes suspense is palpable, creating an atmosphere of constant tension as the characters race against a ticking clock.

The author weaves complex time travel concepts into a narrative. Every chapter is packed with action sequences that feel earned, not just added for effect, propelling the story forward at a relentless pace.

If you're looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Fracturing Time is an exhilarating read.

What a conclusion!

Stephanie thought she was helping Ronnie, but she unleashed a plague of problems instead. Jeffrey Brennan is intent on using the chaos in Puerto Rico to send Ronnie and Mike hurtling through time, where they can never interfere with his plans again.

This is a tantalizing end to the series. It kept me up all night reading! I received a free copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.

Fracturing Time by KJ Waters is the 4th book in her Stealing Time Series. I've read the previous the books in the series and loved every single one of them. Ms. Waters does an amazing job of weaving the past and present throughout each book.

In this final book the who, what's and OMGs are intricately woven together and had me up late into the night turning the pages because the story was so intriguing! I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

KJ does a great job on this book as she has on the other books in this series! As another reviewer said, it is best if you read the other books before as she does reference things from them. Either way, I believe you will enjoy this book. KJ is a great author and i look forward to her future novels!
