imagine my relief when shizuka's bully, takamine, subverted my previous prediction that she'd be forgiven too easily. she was forgiven too easily but at least she genuinely apologized, was actually remorseful about bullying shizuka, and made things right every way she could. unfortunately, my relief was short-lived seeing the cover for the second volume where shizuka seems to have lost weight. i'm gonna have to keep dreaming of a day where east asian media will make fat characters without being problematic.

this volume was weird. we had a really nice apology, closure on the bully chapter, only to have a fully grown adult with a mukbang fetish. it made me sooo uncomfortable how much this volume revolved around underage girls being fat and how it's either disgusting or a fetish. characters can passionately tell readers "it's okay the way she looks!" all they want but if the story is repeatedly showing the opposite, that faux-fat-positive message is moot. it's also upsetting to see this message constantly invalidated, especially by the fact that her boyfriend never touches her until she's skinny. only then did he start holding her hand and kissing her. 1 star for the art and half a star for takamine turning around.

i’ve never seen an author fumble a second volume so bad before oh my god

the first volume was a cute read... this one sucks.
making your chubby fl skinny is definitely a choice when there are already thousands of other skinny fls in shoujo (and when most of your audience tuned in BECAUSE of the fl being fat)
to then only have her boyfriend kiss her and touch her once she becomes skinny & have her former BULLY send her recommendations on how to get skinny is??? WEIRDDD

i won’t even comment on the whole plot involving the teacher because i don’t even know what to make of that. i just wanted a shoujo with a fat fl and look what i get... fetishization 😦

But of course she couldn't be loved fat, she had to lose weight.. they never set up that she got fat because of stress eating they set up that she she simply likes food and eats a lot even in absence of stress and the stress eating began afterwards when everyone was bullying her for being fat...
She lost entirely too much weight in too short a time.
Glad the bully apologized and that she wasn't readily forgiven.
The villain was quite creative, I liked their motivation.
The ending is a bit underwhelming.

Nothing on God's green earth could've prepared me for the blackmailer voyeuristic feeder teacher plot... I felt absolutely sickened 🤢🤢🤢

Beyond that the series was cute and had potential but every time a protagonist that’s starts off bigger ends up skinny by the end I can’t help but dislike the series quite a bit

I think I wouldn’t recommend this story, sadly

Put this down the second the bully's 'apology' happened and the girl became super skinny on the cover. I'm glad I did, as the rest of this manga evidently devolves into some truly sick stuff.
