This is a helpful book and one to own for reference rather than read in one sitting or other and forget about it. In this book, Sharmadean Reid writes about 49 methods (split across 5 parts) to provide practical, actionable or reflective ways to fulfil your purpose and scale your work. They are in essay style writing and are personal so some may float your boat while you may skip others.

It is NOT a memoir.

A great collection of professional pointers with a personal dusting that sprinkles without suffocating all the content. Now I maybe a touch biase, but this is one of the best audiobooks of 2020's in the non fiction for me, as the pacing was steady and didn't lack throughout, if anything I had to slow down the listening so I could carefully take notes. I've ordered a copy in hardback as I will be returning to certain sections for sure.

I loved that this book was able to take powerful and deep issues and write them in a way that was completely accessible.

I think the author shows astonishing honest and frankness in this book and her vision to inspire other women to live a life in which they feel empowered and confident came across really authentically.

The way the book is set out really helped to break down specific areas so it’s a book that I will dip into time and time again.

This is a well written, inspiring and powerful read - every woman should have a copy of this book

stretched it for so long, read it almost in full in a week and then put it away and forgot about it. is a really good reminder that most of the issues and challenges at work are more systemic than personal, so it was a good way to universalize my own experience and make it less emotional. good tips and tricks to get your shit done and not let anyone overstep, and to reclaim agency. it's a business book with a different perspective and reality so I will get back to it from time to time :)

Struggled through this on audible - I think the format lends itself to a hard copy you can dip in and out of rather than an audiobook. Lots of info and strategies but feels pithy read out loud

This is now covered in scribbles and sticky notes so it is that good. One of the clearest written texts I've read and the residual feeling was temperance - my favourite word.

3.5 rounded to 4. A lot of the “new methods” felt intuitive as a champion of women, but there were other insightful gems that didn’t directly relate to feminism that I found helpful.

Started off good and I think some of the tools were useful but overall I have a hard time treating myself like a business. Capitalism final boss?
