Batman: Black & White Compendium by J.H Williams is a collection of shorter stories written and illustrated by very many people. It follow Batman and provides snapshots of his or his rouges' lives, and it does a masterful job of doing so. While this may be a mixed bag, there is truly a comic for every reader. I particularly like how many different takes there are on Batman and his Rouges gallery, something that I don't feel like is appreciated as much in this modern age. While I do wish some of these comics had follow ups or were longer, all in all, this is a great book and well worth the read. Batman: Black & White Compendium by J.H Williams does something that not many other comic books do-- it appreciates a wide variety of authors and artists. It's not one continuous story but more like a collection of smaller stories, bound by genre and not author, like how some books do with horror or mysteries. It is a love letter to Batman and all the different stories he has had over the years, and the different views on him. This compendium has something for everyone, and has passion written all over the pages.
