Thanks to Dorling Kindersley for sending me a proof copy in exchange for an honest review.

As someone who never grew out of their childhood dinosaur phase and who adored the original Walking With Dinosaurs, I was delighted upon its return. This book offers everything dinosaur obsessives could hope for and more. The winning combination of high-quality CGI reconstructions and compelling insights makes for an enjoyable and educational reading experience for all ages. Each chapter covers a different time period and location, ranging from old favourites (it's always a joy to spend time with the original king T. Rex) to exciting new species and discoveries (I was not aware of Lusotitan, the largest dinosaur yet discovered in Europe). The writing style offers a perfect blend between insight and accessibility, with relevant jargon neatly explained via diagrams and lashings of humour to enliven the prehistoric stories. The last segment on how the TV series was made is also fascinating, revealing the depth of research and digital creativity which went into each of the episodes. On the whole, I loved reading this book- it made me feel nostalgic for the countless hours younger me spent watching the series and poring over the original volume, as well as filling me with just as much passion and appreciation for these majestic creatures as ever before.
