What if aging is not inevitable? In Lifespan, Harvard professor and renowned scientist David A. Sinclair challenges the conventional understanding of aging and presents groundbreaking research suggesting that aging is a disease—and one that can be treated. Backed by cutting-edge science, this book explores the biological mechanisms of aging and reveals how we may be able to slow, halt, or even reverse it. With a mix of scientific insights and practical advice, Lifespan offers a bold vision of a future where aging is no longer a certainty.
David Sinclair is a professor in the Department of Genetics and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, where he and his colleagues study sirtuins—protein-modifying enzymes that respond to changing NAD+ levels and to caloric restriction—as well as chromatin, energy metabolism, mitochondria, learning and memory, neurodegeneration, cancer, and cellular reprogramming.
