UFO Farmers

Rate this book
Slightly Vulgar. Totally Ridiculous. Deeply Unqualified to Save the Galaxy.

When two Texas farmers unearth a thousand-year-old flying saucer, their simple country life takes an intergalactic turn for the absurd. Donny, a die-hard UFO conspiracy buff, finally gets his “I told you so” moment – dragging his sarcastic and skeptical friend Pablo into the most chaotic, side-splitting space adventure of the century.

Before they can say “We come in peace,” the two are hurtling through the cosmos, dodging trigger-happy lizard people, getting seduced by a telepathic blue alien, suffering abuse from their ship’s snarky AI, and discovering that not only is Bigfoot real – he’s also the galaxy’s worst prison warden. Oh, and they might be humanity’s only hope against total annihilation. No pressure.

A fast-paced, irreverent, and wildly entertaining sci-fi comedy, UFO Farmers is perfect for fans of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Red Dwarf, Resident Alien, Futurama, and The Orville.

UAPs, UFOs, non-human intelligence, ancient aliens and conspiracy theories are hilariously sent-up as this book tackles life’s biggest questions – Are we alone? Who’s really in charge? Why do tacos taste different in zero gravity? – and answers them with gut-busting hilarity.

If you like your space adventures ridiculous, action-packed, and a little bit inappropriate – congratulations, you’ve found your next favorite book.

Reading UFO Farmers may cause sudden bursts of laughter, loss of faith in government cover-ups, and an uncontrollable urge to scan the night sky for "drones" and “weather balloons.”

I tried this book because of the “similar books” recommendations from Amazon. I know Amazon’s recommendations generally sucks but I tried it anyway.

Well, Amazon’s recommendations still suck and so did this book. At least it was not a book for me.

The main protagonists are stupid beyond belief from the first page to the last page.

The dialogue is juvenile and tiresome at best. The story could have been turned into something decent had it not been implemented with such stupidity.

The jokes are not funny, juvenile and sometimes downright disgusting. Getting covered in what can best be describes as manure and then having a puke feast is NOT funny.

The AI is not snarky, it is condescending, rude and makes you hope the two morons actually manages to blow up the ship just to get rid of it.

Oh, and of course, let’s throw in some silly names for things here and there just to make it a complete waste of time to read it.

I gave it two stars, barely, since there is at least a bit of a story in the book but otherwise this was a huge disappointment.

This book is so incredibly funny that when I went out back to have a smoke while reading it I wound up literally laughing out so loudly (tears an all) that when I looked up and saw my neighbor giving me the stink eye, all I could say was that I was reading a very funny book. He nodded and went about his business. I can't possibly recommend this book enough. It is the best read for me since that Douglas Adams classic that has had several live action productions made about it. I would go on but I don't want to spoil anything for readers. Please enjoy, and I hope for future adventures of Don and Pablo!!!

Has curse words, fast-paced, entertaining.

Characters are entertaining and fun. Unfortunately, the two main characters are not the sharpest pencils in the box, leading to outlandish predicaments. Had trouble putting the book down, wanting to see what happened next. And yes, I want the author to write book 2. How can he leave us stranded, not knowing what happens next.

If you find fun in blundering around the galaxy meeting generally less than sterling entities while learning many conspiracy theories are spot on, then this read is for you! PS: Even the “good ones” are weird or tarnished 😀

Spacer humor.....

The humor is contagious in this delightful tale of questions and decisions. Looking forward to the next adventure of these charming farmers away from the farm.

I got a kick out of this book. It needs to be a series. Good read, showed some real thought and imagination throughout. I really want to see more of this group. Fun and interesting.
