Byly tam znovu. Stopy koňských kopyt ve světlém písku, které vedly přímo do moře. Zamračila jsem se a pozorně se rozhlédla po pusté zátoce. Hledala jsem cokoli, co by ty záhadné stopy vysvětlovalo. Nikde nic. Žádné další otisky kopyt, žádné volně pobíhající kůň, žádný člověk, který zavedl svého koně do slané mořské vody, aby se vykoupal. Otřásla jsem se zimou, přestože byl červenec a slunce krásně hřálo. Nemám ráda záhady. Byla jsem ve Falcondale třetí den a potřetí jsem spatřila ty stopy…

Karin tráví prázdniny u své sestry Leonie na farmě ve Falcondale. Všechno začne báječně: celé dny tráví v sedle, stará se o nádherné koně a najde si tam i kamaráda. Falcondale však skrývá jakési tajemství. Karin slyší vyprávět záhadné pověsti, spatří podivné věci, za tajemných okolností zmizí kůň. A dochází tam k ještě mnoha dalším zlověstným a nevysvětlitelným událostem. Má to všechno na svědomí Taladin – přízrak, o kterém se říká, že prináší neštěstí? Nebo je to něco ještě mnohem nebezpečnějšího?

So, this is the third and final book I found, and I enjoyed this one the least. For the majortity of the book I was thinking it deserved 4 stars, however the ending made me lower the rating. Probably nobody reading this review (if there's anybody reading it) is interested in this book, but I still put my reason under a spoiler tag. The reason it freaked me out is that Joel was dead, and Ceri saw him, and talked to him, and went to places with him that were closed years ago. I mean, these stuff weird me out, and I hate when this happens in books, that the mc was hanging out with people, who are actually dead and she just imagined the whole thing, but it actually happened.. I don't even understand what I'm trying to say, so don't worry, it's f*cked up... This happens in /you probably don't want to look at this spoiler, because it ruins the ending of another book/We Were Liars too, and I jus can't stand these story-lines. It might work for some people, it doesn't work for me...

Other than that, it was an enjoyable, fast read, obviously also for younger audiences, however, I did not like it as much as the other two. I would rather recommend those, this one just didn't get to me, except freaking me out. Also, I might be the only one, who freaks out by such things.
