I read this in one afternoon. It's a quick read and had me gripped to see what was gonna happen next.
Robs a broken man. After losing the love of his life he did nothing except work and drink. That is until Lola came into his life. Finding her, protecting her and keeping her safe is all that he wants. But can he manage to do that??
My only one complaint is that Lola seemed to adjust to what happened to her too quickly. I would have liked her to hold back a bit but hey this is fiction. Having said that it's still getting a five star from me as I loved the characters, the storyline was different and I read it in one sitting.
Rob has suffered with the guilt of not being able to save the love of his life Lizzie from her death... Haunted with the what ifs that no matter what he can not change the fact that his Lizzie is DEAD in deed!! Trying to cope with life the best way Rob knows how he buries his self in his work, women, and booze. No matter what he does nothing helps him escape the pain he feels when all he can think about is .... LIZZIE!!
Lola is a rich girl attending Harvard; who is tired of living the life of which her father plans out for her. She wants to live her life as she feels fit. Out with her friends one night at a night club soon turns her life upside down when she is kidnapped. Frightened even more so when she comes to find out that her kidnappers are to sell young girls- virgins off to the highest bidder.
Rob's company is hired by Mr.Sardeson to find his daughter and to return her at all cost. So the Unit heads out on their mission to do so. What Rob was not expecting was to have feelings for Lola the moment he sees her. After rescuing Lola and returning her home they soon find out she is still in DANGER!! Rob volunteers to protect her & that's when their attraction & feelings become stronger.
Can he suppress his feelings for Lola, or will guilt consume him alive? Can he forgive himself for not saving his fiancée? Can Rob save Lola and protect her from the greedy hands of the Ortiz Cartel?
At some point in our lives we all have heard about Superman saving Louis Lane. The hero that every woman wanted to save them from all the hurt that possessed the world. The hero that stole her heart but not knowing that Superman was just a breath away at all times.
Rob-hunky, hero, and sweet
Lola-bright, smart, caring and independent
Rob is the man on the mission to save everyone around him. His job it to retrieve and protect but go unnoticed at the same time. He has felt much loss in his past by letting his heart control his head this time he vows that it will not happen. What happens when his heart and his head collide at the same time knowing that this time can be different if he only believes in himself? Can he protect his heart and the one he can hold dear to his heart if only for a moment?
Lola is bright as the sun and cares without wanting anything in return. When circumstances beyond her control end her up in a very dark place survival is the least of her concerns. Protecting the ones with her is dearer to her than her own life. But what happens when a man decides that he wants to protect and save her from the dark place? Will she leave with him and leave the ones she is trying to protect? Will this protector turn out to be more than she hoped and wished for? Can she let her heart stay true?
Lola and Rob’s hardships are certainly evident in this awesome read. Both have demons in the past but Lola has one in the here and now that she is trying to avoid but with Rob by her side keeping the dark side at bay she knows anything is possible. Rob knows that protecting Lola is the only way he can keep his heart at bay but what happens when his heart tells him just protecting her is not enough? The heat in the bedroom with these two is explosive, calming and surreal but at the same time it is loving. Do these two find their calming and explosive forever or will it be ripped away just as fast as it started? Can Rob learn from Lola that healing and protecting can be achieved if he only believes? Can Lola understand that his protecting her is more than just that? This is their journey.
To the author: This was one astonishing read. You had me captivated and awed right from the start. You had me in tears in all the right places. You took a subject in this read that most would not touch in their wildest dreams. You also brought light that this is a subject that is going on even as I type this review. This is a miracle in the making with this read. I hope that everyone that reads this book takes a special feeling out of the read and realizes that this subject is the here and now. Instead of turning the other way we should make more light of this and try to do what we can if we see this happening. Kudos
what another extremely powerful and heartfelt 5 star read, this story was just as beautiful if not more so then the first book in the series which was Closer a five star story. Both books are done in duel POV's which are my favorite kinds of reads, cause I feel that they add to the feel and emotions that you can only get from a great story, I think it also intensifies and add's a connects with each character when you are able feel what's in there heads and hearts and make the story that much more believable, but also that much more personal and rememberable, which is exactly what this author did, with her characters and her story, she made it remarkable in it's entirety not only to be rememberable but to also be cherished. Her story show's you that side of life that should never be taken for granted that life it's self should be cherished and live life to the fullest , cause you never know what's to come from minute to minute. they also hold you captivated from one page to the another, both her story lines are intense and filled with drama, action, mystery, suspense, chaos, emotions (good and bad kind), passion (hot & steamy kind) and most strongest emotion with it's raw intensity is love & dedication. the story line is very strong and stay's on focus through-out the book which enable's the story to follow easy and gives the reader a clear picture of the events that are taken place and gives that read the connection that is needed to become invested into the story as if you yourself were apart of it over all and also has you connected to the emotion with the characters as well, which makes for a very intense read. I can't express strongly enough have incredible this series is so far and only hope that it will continue with the other members of the team and also allow you to see the process these previous couple are making and how they are doing. If you have not read this series yet, I highly express that you do so immediately in which you will be truly granted a wonderful gift that will come from reading one of the most incredible & remarkable & heart-pounding reads for 2014 and which you will only be rewarded for by being able to take part on outstanding journey .. A Must and Highly recommended 5 star read :) <3
Contains SPOILERS if you haven't read book one or two. Stronger in the second book in The Unit Series, although it could be read as a stand alone you will get a greater feeling of the anguish the Rob carries with him. Sarah Greyson does an amazing job again, right off the bat she jumps in to the action. This book has a two person point of view, it jumps back and forth between Rob and Lola. Lola has grown up with money and has been raised by an over protective father who goes out of his way to keep her under his control and safe. Going to college is the first time that she has been able to live without the his constant control, not complete freedom but some compared to living under his roof. While out clubbing with some friends one night a man that she was dancing with, tells her to come with him quietly or her friends will die. Not wanting to risk her friends lives she does what the man says. Rob was a Green Beret for several tours in Afghanistan and now is a civilian using his training in the private sector doing private security. Mourning the loss of his fiancé he has been taking as many high risk jobs as he can, hoping that he soon can join her. After Lola friends realize she was missing they contact her father who hires Rob and his team to find and rescue Lola. It doesn't take his team long to track her. They get busy preparing a plan to rescue her. Once the mission is complete they still have the risk of things going bad since Lola father pulled the carpet out from under the mission plan. Is Rob able to save Lola? Or when things go bad do they go really bad? This book is a wonderful balance of action and romance, but it has bumps along the road that help you love the book more because everything has to be earned not just handed to them with a silver spoon. If you like fast paced action and romance this is a book you need to check out.

A year an a half after the brutal murder of his fiance, Rob Fabik, ex -Green Beret, is still morning her death. His days are made up of guilty memories of not being able to save the love of his life. Working & drinking are what consumes most of his waking hours.
Attending Harvard University to complete her business degree, Lola Sardeson, is a down to earth girl, from a wealthy family. Most of her life she has been guarded by her father, kept under his watchful eye. Lola's one release that she loves, where she can let herself go, is to dance.
Till one night whilst out dancing with friends, Lola was abducted by the Ortiz Cartel, to be sold to the highest bidder, in an organised Human/Drug Trafficking ring.
Rob & his team are hired, by Lola's father, to rescue her from Mexico. When Rob sees Lola for the first time, he has an instant attraction to Lola. He manages to win her, but as they were making their exit, all hell breaks loose.
Once they make it back to the US they are still in danger, as Lola is still the posession of the Ortiz Cartel. Rob volunteers to protect her & that's when their attraction & feelings become stronger.
There is so much more to this story than I can say, but for me, Robs character is so much more than Lola. Lola just seems to accept everything instead of fighting.
Even tho this has an 18+ rating I would still recommend it to a MATURE young adult with parents permission. :)
Lola Sardeson is smart, beautiful and easy-going! However, she is tired of things being handed to her. Her father is very wealthy. She attends Harvard University, one night changes her life forever!
The Ortiz Cartel..... sells young innocent girls into the sex- slave
Rob Fabik is an ex- Green Beret, he is attractive, strong, yet damaged. Rob's past has done a number on him. He live his live day to day filled with guilt, pain that he numbs!
Until.....
Lola
The Unit assigns Rob to help capture this amazing women. Will Rob be able to leave his past the past? Will he save Lola and himself at the same time? Will this bond be STRONGER....you will have to read and see!!
Sarah Greyson novel titled Stronger. This is the second book from this author that I had the privilege to read. The writer has an amazing gift. She is an excellent story-teller. She definitely knows how to grab the reader and keep the pages turning for more. I totally enjoyed the the action of this book, I found myself getting up and down it was full of angst. I love all the characters the way this author connected the reader. Lola & Rob characteristics were beautiful and POWERFUL! Amazing job Sarah. I also must say this is a fast easy read. It is so action pack and written well it just flows well that you find yourself slowing yourself down because you don’t want it to end. I give this book a high recommendation. Sarah has made a new fan after this book.
How would you feel if you were abducted while out partying with your best friends? If you knew that it wouldn't matter to the ones who took you how much money you have only whether you were beautiful and able to fetch a high price? Lola, a college student, was taken in a busy club while her friends were right beside her dancing away, shipped to Mexico and drugged to keep her docile, but she was one of many to be sold to the highest bidder! Rob, a man haunted by his ex, and his team of military guys are hired to get her back from the Ortiz Cartel. At first sight he's attracted to her so much that he almost misses his chance to bid for her. What evolves in the story is a chance for them both to rid themselves of their past and hopefully find a love to sustain them, to find forgiveness and a new start.
I swear once I started reading Stronger I was enthralled and had to keep reading it to the very end! This was my first Sarah Greyson book, but it won't be my last!
18+ subject matter, but could mature young adult .
I loved this book. Absolutely one of the best I have read this year. Rob is still hurting from the loss of Lizzie when he is put in charge of the team ordered to bring Lola home safe. Lola has been under her father's thumb her entire life and wants to be in charge of her decisions. She is kidnapped and taken by the Ortiz Cartel. The book is fast paced and the plot moves seamlessly from Boston, to Maine, to Mexico. The dialogue amongst the characters is well written and tangible. I loved seeing Rob and Lola's transformations. This was a great story that had me hooked from the start.

4 Stars!
I just got done reading Stronger, and I really liked how it starts with the relationship of Michael and Emma from Closer. We also got to meet Rob in Closer, he is Micheal's best friend, and was a Green Beret with him in the military. I felt so sad for Rob with the way everything ended in Closer. When I saw that this book was about him, I was both excited and nervous to see how his story was going to unfold.
Once again the guys take a job through Rob's security business. This time they are hired to rescue Lola Sardeson who was kidnapped by a drug cartel known for selling women as sex slaves. They are under a strict time frame and need to find her before its too late and she's sold.
Rob goes under cover and goes to the auction to see if he can find Lola. The first time he sees her, he feels emotions surface that have been gone since he lost his fiance. Rob has been having a hard time with dealing with what he went through in his past so he is so thrown off when his body starts reacting to Lola's presence.
To keep Lola safe, Rob is assigned to protect her because she is still in danger when it comes to the cartel. Seeing that Rob is going to be living with Lola, she uses that to help him over come his past. She can tell that he is dealing with something and wants him to open up to her.
Rob and Lola's relationship starts as friends. Opening up to each other and getting to know each other. However, shortly after, things start to change. Rob wants Lola, but before he is willing to take her as his he wants her to know exactly what she is getting.....
" I have done some pretty bad things. I have done these bad things for good reasons. Some would call me a murderer, some, a torturer and they wouldn't be wrong. I have murdered men; I have tortured men. I have had missions where I have killed so many men in one hour it's impossible for me to know how many. I have done all of this without batting an eye, without guilt. I served five tours in war-torn Afghanistan. I have killed women and children who meant to do me harm; they haunt me every night. You could do much better than me. For God's sake, I'm still in love with my dead fiance. But, if after knowing all of this, you still say you want me, I won't stop this thing between us. Not again. Know that!"
Seeing Rob and Lola's relationship grow was bittersweet! I loved that Rob was able to overcome what he needed to but I still feel sad for his past and how hard it is to let someone new get close to you. There were also some twist and turns that happened in this story as well that have you sitting on the edge of your seat. I was so nervous for Rob at the thought of his past coming back to haunt him. There was a part of the story towards the end that was so sad. It definitely brought tears to my eyes. The decision Rob had to make was heart breaking but I understand what he had to do. I really enjoyed this story, I actually liked Stronger more than Closer, but they were both great books by Sarah Greyson.

How do you heal when the events of your past haunt and harrow your every thought? Life has Rob by the throat – well, his past has to be more accurate. And it is slowly allowing him to drown in his own misery. Guilt is eating him alive from the inside out as he refuses to accept that there is absolutely nothing he could have done to prevent the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his wife’s death but that does not stop him from continuing to torture himself. I really felt for Rob, I think I understood his reasoning in some respects because it is that survivor’s guilt thing eating away at you, but especially in his line of work it must have been like an arrow straight to his soul. Nothing can pull him from his self-inflicted funk but when he gets his next assignment he may just have found a reason to begin to lift the veil and take a peek back into the real world. Rob and the other guys in his company are hired to find and return a kidnap victim Victim of human traffickers who think nothing of selling their latest captive to the highest bidder, Lola is at the mercy of the sort of individuals that young women like her never believe for one minute exist in this world. Happily living a life that most would give their eye teeth for, this young woman much loved by her family – in fact she is practically the prized possession of her father, strange to say that I know but she is, there is simply nothing that he wouldn’t do or give to his daughter and to insure that she is able to fulfil the destiny that he has planned for her. The only issue is the fact that Lola has other plans. I like Lola, she was a kind soul, with a heart the size of Canada, prepared to put others before herself but when her freedom is placed before her again by Rob and the guys, can she turn her back on those that she has be trying to protect and walk away or will she stick to her guns. Seeing Lola and the situation that she is in and the dilemma that she faces when he and his men show up was an eye-opener for Rob and it knocked is socks off. Because he had feelings that were far from what had expected them to be, this beautiful young woman had let a little of her light and kindness, sneak its way into his heart and he was left reeling that for the first time in a very long while, his emotions were awake. Returning her home to her family does not end his infatuation and it does not end the craziness that continues to surround them. Necessity dictates that they need to continue to spend time together and it is during this time that they both realise that the feelings that were bubbling below the surface have refused to dissipate – if anything they are gathering pace and it is only a matter of time before they are going to have too address them. But can they keep their hands of each other and can they save each other from not only the ruthless villians that have them in their sights but also from the past and present that have desires on moulding their futures
Let me start by saying this book had massive potential; the plot was exciting and fast paced, involving the abduction of a young socialite, sex trafficking and an emotionally scarred mercenary sent into retrieve a kidnap victim, the writing wasn’t fantastic, at times it came across as rather stilted and lack lustre with important details either being glossed over or left out entirely, however the storyline kept me interested enough to overlook these minor flaws. There were a couple of things that just didn’t sit right with me and they all involved the hero of the piece Rob. I understand the man had witnessed and had been subjected to some horrific events in his life and had the emotional detachment and scars to prove it particularly when it came to his fiance but it seemed like he mentioned her in every other sentence, when he realised he was attracted to Lola, when he was fighting his feelings for Lola, when he had a sexual thought about Lola, it was repetitive and a little lazy considering his fiance probably hadn’t entered his brain when he had slept with all those nameless women before Lola. The other issue that irked me was when Rob developed a case of instant lust and an obsession over the heroine Lola as she was being paraded at a sex slave catwalk show, it felt a little depraved but as well as that it happened much too quick, he just looked at her and that was him hooked on her.
‘“I will escort you to your classes and I will be waiting for you when you leave.” “What about your life?” “Until this is over, you are my life.”
In the beginning I wasn’t overly impressed with Lola’s character but as the book progressed her personality started to shine more, she showed compassion, she matured and as every great heroine should be, she was resilient and courageous. The love story between Lola and Rob had some nice qualities about it, the sexual tension was off the scale and they did have some very sweet moments but again their relationship was intruded upon by ghosts (maybe quite literally at one point) and Rob’s feelings didn’t seem strong enough or deep enough, it was almost like Lola was a consolation prize. It was a likeable book with some great plot points that could have been expounded upon further but because they weren’t certain things felt hurried and unsettled. I would try another book from this author because like I’ve stated a few times there is a great amount of potential here in her characterisation and dialogue.
Stronger is a solid 3 1/2 star read for me, meaning I liked it, but didn't love it. It starts out with Lola, a 20 years old college student having a girl's night at a bar with her friends. While at the bar, she is kidnapped by a man she was dancing with and soon discovers she was going to be sold by a Mexican Cartel known for human/sex trafficking. The hero of the story, Rob, is a member of the security team tasked with rescuing Lola. They quickly fall for each other and have to deal with the threat of the Cartel coming after Lola.
Lola was a very naive 20 year old, but she was protected and basically isolated from the outside world by her very rich father. It took her a little while to figure out what was happening to her and the other girls. After her ordeal, I thought she grew as a person and became stronger.
Rob has a very sad past. His fiancee was kidnapped, raped, and died by terrorists. He lives with the guilt and heartbreak until he meets Lola. I liked how strong and open he was. He was very macho, but wasn't afraid to cry.
Stronger is an instant-love story, and once you can get passed that aspect it is a very suspenseful and compelling book. I did like how the main characters talked to each other and were honest. It bothers me in books when the whole story contains more sex scenes than actual talking between the characters. I thought there was a good balance between the two.
I do wish there was a little more with the story. Maybe Rob meeting Lola's friends and seeing him interact with her father. I just wanted to read a little more about their new life together.
I do want to warn everyone that the first 34% of the book was a little graphic, meaning that you can fully understand what Lola goes through and how Rob and his team figure out where she is. I can't wait to read more in this series.
This is a great love story; a lost and damaged man is hired to find a kidnapped women who is to be sold into sex slavery. From the moment Rob laid eyes on Lola she was everything to him. He had to save her, protect her and keep her for himself. Lola is a college student, from a wealthy family and has a very controlling father. She left home to study in Boston to get away from her fathers authoritarian nature.
After Lola's initial saving from the drug cartel, Rob and Lola learn about each other, Lola is able to share Robs pain, and yet she is able to take his mind off of his lost fiancée and to start to feel life again. It is short lived however, you will need to buy and read this to find out what happens next.
After Lola thanks Rob for "Rescuing me, protecting me, wanting me. "Rob says, "Love, you don't have to ever thank me for that. I should be thanking you." He leaned in and covered her lips with his hot mouth kissing her reverently. He brushed his lips lightly over hers before he devoured her in a soul-aching kiss.
Rob states later in the story,"Say it now. Say that you are mine. I swear to God I will kill anyone that tries to take you from me. I will protect you always, but you have to tell me. Tell me you are mine. I have to hear it from your lips again."
This book was very well written, the characters were strong, believable and very likable. Suspenseful, yet sexy and captivating, this author is able to create a beautiful picture of what these characters felt and thought about, throughout this story. I will look for more by this new author. ARC provided for an honest review.
Although this is book #2 in the Unit series, it can be read as a standalone and you won't be lost if you haven't read book #1 (which I haven't).
Rob has suffered such a profound loss that he just feels trapped in a life he no longer wants. Unable to bring himself to end it, he's destined to live a life of misery, alcohol and meaningless sex.
Lola has a very wealthy father who has sheltered her from almost everything in life. Finally striking out on her own (in a sense, seeing as she's still dependent on Daddy's money) she gets a taste of the world she's been protected from when she's kidnapped from a club.
Under the impression that she'll be ransomed for a hefty sum, her eyes are suddenly opened when she figures out that things are far more dire than she ever could have imagined.
This tale got off to a slow start for me and I just couldn't connect with Lola at all. When I first read the synopsis, I was expecting something rather dark and I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed. Although the situation Lola finds herself in would be horrific, I didn't feel that it was portrayed that way enough for me and overall her treatment was nowhere near as bad as it could have been.
Although I was disappointed by this book, I think that's mainly because I was expecting a darker book, grittier. However, the book is well written and the characters, particularly the team of men are endearing.
If you're looking for a sombre, unyielding story, of the ilk that's very popular right now, this isn't the book for you, but if you're looking for a story that touches on the debauched world but doesn't drag you in, then you may enjoy this sweet story.

3.5 Stars...
We have ex-Green Beret Rob Fabik who continues to be troubled by the loss of his fiance. Rob's fiancé was murdered by a terrorist cell. He is tortured by her loss and his inability to save her. Rob and the Unit are assigned a job to rescue Harvard University student Lola Sardeson when she is kidnapped while out clubbing with friends. Lola Sardeson is the daughter of the CEO of a major airline company. She has been raised in a wealthy home and under the strict guidance of her overbearing father.
Lola is kidnapped by the Ortiz Cartel and prepped to be sold into sex-slave trade. Stronger is fast paced and had me intrigued right away. Lola is rescued by The Unit and Rob, but is still in danger by the Cartel. Rob wants to protect Lola so he takes on the task of providing her protection.
There is definitely a connection there with Rob. I felt the pain from the loss of his fiancé and how it still continues to affect him. Lola's character, on the other hand fell short for me. She's this privileged girl who has led a sheltered life. She goes through a terrifying ordeal, but some of her actions were not in sync. However, I did enjoy this story, b3.5 star rating. but didn't love. I enjoyed the interactions between Rob & Lola. It held my interest as I wanted to know how it all played out.
This book DEFINITELY sucked me in from the very beginning!!! It held me captivated, I stayed up all night reading it!! Definitely will play for it today!!! But, anyways . . . I couldn't put it down LITERALLY!!! This book has it all!! No joke!!! Everything I look for in a book it has!! I love being intrigued, full of suspense, action, passion, and packed full of emotion. I think that any book that has all those is DEFINITELY a 5 star read for me!! =) I think to be a good book you have to be invested in the characters your reading about . . . the author has to make you feel like your apart of the story!! That's exactly how I felt!! I'm not one for spoilers but the story is about a rich girl who goes to Harvard and her life is completely changed one night. She is sold into slavery by the Ortiz cartel. Rob is assigned to get her back! He's broken and not really living life. Once he sees her it's an undeniably connection/attraction for her. He won't stop to get her back and keep her safe!! Can he save her?? Can he protect her? Can they break down the walls holding the at bay? move on from the past? I know but do you?! I DEFINITELY think you want too!! Soooooo 1click it!!! Right now!!! =) What are you waiting for?!!!
This was a great quick read for me! It has danger with sick twisted men in it that don't deserve to live! A sexy as sin alpha man and a very strong woman that deal with their lives in ways only strong people can! Lola is spoiled to the core, she has more money then she could ever need and strong will to go along with it! But no one would ever know that because she's not the type to rub it in or show it off! She's also a virgin and just likes to enjoy herself and have fun! Until one evening out with her friends turns her life upside down and twisted inside out! Robs job is crazy dangerous, he has killed many people and he has served his country! But nothing could have warned him about his next mission especially since he can't get his dead would be wife out of his head! He deals with grief and heartache over not being able to save her, that is until his next mission walks the catwalk and entrances him with her strenght and beauty! Can these two make it through the dangerous situation they are in? Can they fight for each other? Can Rob get over his grief? An awesome read with amazing characters!
Although this is book #2 in The Unit series, it can be read as a standalone and you won't be lost if you haven't read book #1 (which I haven't).
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. The story starts with Lola, a 20 years old college student having a girl's night at a bar with her friends. Whilst at the bar, she is kidnapped by a man she was dancing with and discovers she is going to be sold by a Cartel known for human/sex trafficking. The hero of the story, Rob, is a member of the security team, The Unit, that is hired by Lola's father to rescue her. They quickly fall for each other while Rob is protecting Lola from the threat of the Cartel coming back for her.
I liked the characters and it was a really good storyline, but found the writing was a bit formal in some places, but all that being said, it was overall a good book. Stronger is a solid 3 1/2 star read for me, meaning I liked it, but didn't love it.
I received this for an honest review. I have to say when I picked this up I wasn't sure what kind of ride I was in store for and OH what a ride it was and one I would gladly jump on again..
Rob is a broken man having lost a woman who he thought he would be with forever. Trying to make it one day at a time the security firm he works for is hired to find Lola the daughter of a wealthy man.. Lola was taken one night when out having fun with her friends.
First off I wanna say WOW. Once I picked this up I didn't want to put it down. It absolutely blew me away. This story is a nice quick read cause once your into you time STOPS!!! I have to say HOLY ALPHA YES!!!!
Stronger by Sarah Greyson is the second book in the The Unit Series. Lola Sardeson is a smart, hard working student at Harvard University. She lives her life under her fathers control. One night she goes out to a bar and will forever change her. She is kidnapped by the Ortiz Cartel, who sell young women. Rob is an ex Green Beret, who is living life through alcohol and women. He is just trying to numb the pain of losing the love of his life that he couldn't save. Seeing Lola for the first time she dies something to him that he hasn't had in a long time. She forces him to deal with his past. I found this book to be a quick is easy read. I look forward to reading more from Sarah Greyson.
Wow, what a book! This is the story of Rob and Lola. Rob is a man haunted by guilt because he couldn't save the woman he loved. Her face is forever imprinted in his mind...Tormented by his past he spends his free time drowning in alcohol and women. Lola is a down to earth rich girl that has everything she wants. But one fateful night everything is snatched away from her. Fear and pain become her best friends. When her life is in danger Rob is the one who wants to keep her safe...But will he succeed? I loved the book. The writing kept me glued to my screen and I really connected with Rob. I loved him.
5 Stars from me!!!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was a really good book. It's about a girl who is kidnapped and taken to be sold into the world of sex trafficking. She falls in love with her rescuer and they eventually get together. There is a really good love story mixed in there. It was a fast read, one that kept my interest and kept me wanting more through the entire story. Although it dealt with some heavy issues, I didn't find that it took away from the love story; same goes for the other way around, I didn't feel that the love story took away from the importance of understanding the dangers and realities of the sex trafficking industries.
Rob has never been the same since he was unable to save the woman he loved. To try and forget he drowns himself in booze and women. That and work. He's hired to rescue Lola who was kidnapped from a nightclub and could soon be sold into slavery. Being rescued isn't the end of it for Lola as she is still in danger, so Rob volunteers to watch over her. Spending this time with her deepens the attraction they both have for each other which complicates things more. I really enjoyed their story.
I liked the pace of the book and the way the flashbacks worked nicely into the storylines. the intensity and furousity of the relationship between Rob and Lola was something you can only read about, but there is no harm in wishing..... I was a little annoyed at the unrealistic storyline of pregnancy, but I guess it is fiction. I didn't realise this was part of a series so will be looking up the first book
This second book was as riveting as the first. What soldiers go thru for our country is (no words to describe).... but to know they love laugh And feel as we do a d have genuine fears is heartwarming. Robs love for Liz was as real in the first book as his love for Lola became in this book read both but read one to understand two.
