Baka Sakali #1

Baka Sakali 1

Rate this book
Dahil… baka sakali… Baka sakali…

I rated it 2 stars. Here's how and why:

My friend recommended the author to me since she became an avid reader of her. I gave it a try but not through Wattpad, I searched in NBS and found one book of her-- this. Bought it even though its pricier than those average published books from Wattpad. Ang laki ng expectation ko, I said it better be worth it.

I am 20 and I feel like I read a book plotted by 13 year old high school student trying to picture herself as 18; with a writing capability of a 26 year old hopeless romantic (dito, tama na ako). Nasabi naman sa akin ng kaibigan ko na matagal na itong naisulat, nabasa niya raw 'to five years ago pa. Okay, so papatawarin na growing years pa ito nung sinulat ni author.

It's the ordinary boy meets girl, si mayaman at si mahirap, si kaagaw at si inaagawan. The conflict was too ordinary, if not so so. Feels ba kamo? Wala ako naramdaman kundi pagkayamot at pagkainip.

Jacob and Roseanne's story has the very cliche concept but author Jonaxx made this very non-traditional. This book has one of the cutest and most charming male leads that I have ever read. It has its one mix of drama, romance and hot hot you know what.

For Filipino readers everywhere. ;)

The first time I read this book, I got so excited. I loved the concept of how Jonah created a fictional setting and molded it to have this huge and overwhelming dynamic. I felt that Jonah had the chance of creating a wonderful plot but it ended not meeting my expectations. Maybe because I had great hopes for this book in meeting my standards but it didn't. The characters were all cardboard in my opinion. I just didn't found myself really connected to both Roseanne and Jacob. Most of all, I did not liked Roseanne's attitude towards Jacob at first. She hated people who were "poor" and had low family reputation, and then she suddenly unravels that Jacob is not what she was expecting and starts to like him. She gets really defensive that she likes him not for his money but for his actual self. What's worse is that Jacob suddenly finds himself loving her too. What? I'm not bashing this book or anything, perhaps it just didn't made actual sense.

There were tons of plot holes I couldn't even bring myself to endure. Although, I still loved the concept of this book it tried to convey. It was just that I had too high expectations for it and it didn't meet that. Besides, I will still be reading all of Jonah's books because I know I'm going to love them. I just will not continue in reading this trilogy.

Another book, another favorite😍😍Jonaxx never failed me to read this one:) I really loved it and i really want to read the series more:)

Baka Sakali by jonaxx (or in english is "just maybe or Maybe") is one of Alegria Boys Series by Jonaxx. I really loved the characters and how she portrayed it. Especially the guy which is his name is Jacob. He's like your dream guy and i really like Kalix, Hiro, Noah, and Rozen from the books I read:) It's a Filipino book and the language is Tagalog.

It’s been exactly two weeks since I’ve read this book, and it’s just now that I decided to write a review. Hahaha, too much procrastinating eh?No worries, it’s been two weeks but I can still give you a fair review. But before that, I will again tell you that I find this story in wattpad. Hahaha, wattpad again I know. Last 2 weeks, I wasn’t in the mood for some foreign books, so please bear with me.

This story is undeniably a great read. It’s from jonaxx, so what else would you expect right? And I’m pretty sure teenagers out there willdefinitely enjoy this! How did I know? Well, I just know. This story will not just make you fall in love but will also make you laugh your heart out. I can’t even get over from this description, “sparkling Moreno abs”. Haha, what a weird yet funny way to describe abs eh?

If it’s that great, then why 4 stars eh? Well, it’s nothing really on the way the author writes the story, or if I find some grammar errors or wrong spelling. It’s more on the happenings from the story. I found the thing that I hated in a tagalog romance story in HERE! I really hate it when the author makes a very simple situation complicated. So that’s it, that’s the reason for the 4 stars.

Any complaints about the characters? Well, I hate the main male character. Very handsome, yeah, but very dumb! Well, sorry girls, I just really hate it. But I like how persistent he was to get the main female character back. So I’ll give him a credit for that.

The plot is a refreshing one for me. All scenes we’re properly executed. The story line and character sticks together. So I think that’s the only thing I could share guys. Read it ok? And tell me how much you enjoy this story by commenting below.

I despise Jacob on book 1 so much. He's a huge red flag. Possessive sa mga dapat suotin ni Rosie. I hate how he distance his self to Rosie nung nalaman na ni Rosie na mayaman siya kase iniisip niya na habol lang pera. And I hate him more nung birthday niya. Napaka baseless niya. I mean valid, yes. And I hate that reason too.

Jonaxx has always been my favorite author, and Baka Sakali is the first book of hers that I read. I first read it back in high school, and this is the first time I’m re-reading it as an adult. Reading it now, I understand more how impulsive teens can bethe way the characters act on their feelings without thinking things through really captures the intensity of young love.

The story is both sweet and emotional, showing the ups and downs of teenage romance, misunderstandings, and personal growth. Even though I knew the plot from before, I still found myself laughing, smiling, and feeling for the characters all over again. Jonaxx has a special way of making her characters feel real, their emotions relatable, and the story engaging from start to finish. Re-reading it now gives me a new perspective, and I can appreciate the depth of the story even more.

I reread a chapter where Rosie and Jacob got separated and the first thing I noticed Jonaxx's writing in Alegria series was so far from the Costa Leona's. When I reread the baka sakali, there is so much angst in the story and I just realized Jacob is immature in this book but get matured at the book 3 and I like it because of the character development.

First ever book that I fully finished, and it led me to my love for books. Out of all the characters and stories this author wrote, this book is the most realistic. I would recommend this to people who want to start reading books written by Jonaxx.

Ps. You should ready your tissue because this made me cry a bucket.

This was the first trilogy I read by author Jonaxx, and I just reread it. Looking back, I really loved the story when I was a teenager. Now, though, I can see just how teenager-ish it is. That said, I’m mostly looking back at it with nostalgia. It still remains one of my favorite reads from Jonaxx.

I read it probably I was in my last year of highschool or early college. With my young mind sobra akong kinilig sa story na to and nalungkot din pero pinaka highlight ko talaga dito is si Brandon haha. Hindi sya main character more on the side sya pero galing nya umeksena. mas marami pa syang cameo kesa sa iba pang characters.

A bit underwhelmed with this. But it's alright, since this is one of Queen J's earlier works. It shows how her writing has imrpoved now; plot-wise and all. Still, all love.
