I wanted to love this book, I liked the premise of the characters and the storyline. The author needs work on character development and writing sentences and paragraphs that flow and make sense. What I read ( and I didn’t finish it), was in and out of tense, worded badly and made it impossible to get through the book. This author needs a critique partner, editor and proofreader. Yes, as ARC readers we can catch typos and minimal errors, but the way this book stands at this time, I couldn’t finish it and can’t give it better than 2✨’s , and those stars are strictly for the premise of the story.

DNF . . .

Wow, this is not a story anyone can truthfully enjoy. The dialog is terrible, confusing, a mess. The characters are not likable, primarily because they are not developed for the reader to make any kind of connection. The story line is confusing and unpleasant. I was not able to finish it because every page just made it worse. Many parts felt like just reading a laundry list and the story didn’t capture my attention at all. It needs a total re-write and a thorough proofreading.

These characters have unique personalities, complicated histories, and believable interactions. A very full and intense story with many elements to it not just s shifter romance. When fated mates reject each other ( or one rejects another ) it affects lots of things but add in a very special child and things get beyond complicated.

3.5 stars. I thought the book was ok to me. I didn't really like that the book felt very fragmented. It would just skip ahead a little bit throughout the book instead of having a flow. I also didn't feel like Chase and Diana had much chemistry to me. It was just an ok read to me.
