This story was a little shorter than I usually like my zombie books. However I do understand that this was just a prequel and kinda a teaser for the rest of the series. However the whole thing seemed kinda rushed like the author was trying to get this story out as quick as they could and keep the story under a certain length.

A little more history on the main character would be nice like maybe a page of back story to find out more about her.

But all in all I can see this series has potential and it has made me interested to read the rest of the series. I recommend checking this out if you have some time in your schedule for a quick read.

"Virus Unleashed" is the prequel to Melton's series "The Zombie Awakening." It's a quick read with a cliffhanger ending that piqued my interest as the story progressed. The writing was a little choppy, but not too bad, and the beginning of the story was one hot mess. Once the action started, however, I could buy the scenario of an act-of-God meteor shower that destroys the research facility that releases the undead.

Stranger things have happened, right?
