Dr. Nandini Singh, his brilliant colleague and secret love, died beside him, their future torn away before he could confess his heart.

Death was only the beginning.

Awakening centuries earlier with fragmented memories and a body reborn, Amogh realizes the explosion hurled him through time. Aimless, he lives, haunted by the love he lost—until he sees her.

Nandini.

Reborn in this age but with no memory of him, she is dying of a disease unknown to this time. Now, amidst Vedic laboratories and forgotten sciences, Amogh races to recreate the Soma Rasa—the elixir that once promised salvation. But in his desperation, he consumes a corrupted, time-twisted version, transforming into something an immortal predator, part vampire, part rakshasa, cursed with eternal hunger.

As Amogh battles the monster within, their souls collide across time, bound by a love that defies eras. Yet dark forces gather against them, threatening to tear them apart once more.

To save her, he must master the curse.
To love her, he must outrun fate itself.

Between Fear & Fire is a time-bending saga of doomed romance, where Vedic science and modern ambition collide, and every choice fractures destiny—between savior and predator, between love and oblivion.

Amrita Kirti's Between Fear & Fire is a haunting, beautifully layered exploration of love, ambition, and the devastating cost of power. The novel opens with the tragic demise of Dr. Amogh Varman, a gifted scientist whose pursuit of a universal cure ends in destruction. But death, in this story, is only the beginning.

Kirti crafts a story that effortlessly blends science fiction with Indian mythology, transporting readers from modern laboratories to ancient rituals and forgotten knowledge. What makes the book truly compelling is the emotional depth of its protagonist—Amogh is a man torn between the remnants of his humanity and the monster he has become. His transformation into an immortal predator is chilling, but Kirti writes his descent with such sensitivity that you’re never sure whether to fear him or root for his redemption.

The relationship between Amogh and Dr. Nandini Singh is subtle yet powerful. It isn’t driven by grand declarations or melodrama, but by an aching sense of what could’ve been—a slow burn that lingers long after the final page. Their love story, fragmented across timelines, adds emotional gravity to the otherwise dark and introspective narrative.

Kirti’s prose is lyrical and vivid, filled with poetic reflections and visceral imagery. She has a unique ability to explore heavy themes—death, morality, fate, immortality—without making the story feel weighed down. Instead, the book moves with purpose, each chapter unfolding like a puzzle piece in a greater design.

If there’s any critique, it’s that the mythology-heavy parts may feel dense for readers unfamiliar with Ayurvedic or Vedic traditions. But for those willing to immerse themselves, it adds a rich texture rarely seen in speculative fiction.

Final Thoughts:
Between Fear & Fire is a bold, genre-bending debut that dares to ask: What happens when love outlives the body, and ambition outpaces the soul? It’s an unforgettable story of monsters, memory, and the eternal dance between destruction and salvation.
