Mekai “Ruger” Santana was a man of authority. Being the head of one of the most influential motorcycle clubs in Detroit—the Motor City Rebels—his power and influence made the people in his community feel safe and secured. But, when a ruthless biker crew known as the Blaze Burners come to town, Ruger must use his power to protect his peace.
Kenzi Abara never thought she’d be in a position to have to fight for her life. Being the sister of one of the members of MCR, she already has a target on her back. When she’s abducted by the Blaze Burners, she has to count on her brother to bring her home safely.
Kenzi and Ruger are forced to be in the same proximity, and things aren’t so pleasant. However, they are both feeling things for one another that has them ready to risk it all. Will Ruger be able to keep her safe? Or will his attraction to her distract him from the dangers lurking beyond the shadows?
Okay! Ruger showed us that all MC's are not the same. The Motor City Rebels were committed to helping to uplift the community, while others caused mayhem. Ruger is all about protecting his peace. When that is disturbed, there is hell to pay! He seems gruff, mean, and uncaring to the world, when he just wants to be left alone. When he learns that the sister of one of his fellow biker's is kidnapped, he knows he must show them who runs Detroit.
Although Kenzi's brother is a part of the Motor City Rebels, he keeps her away from it all, for her safety. She still somehow gets caught up in club business, when those from a rival club snatch her up. Ruger and the boys mount up and go to search and rescue. When Ruger removes the bag from Kenzi's head, he sees perfection. Instantly making him feel things he normally doesn't, until she opens her mouth. Kenzi's mouth is reckless, and Ruger doesn't do that disrespect ish! So, they buttin' heads from the jump, although the chemistry is there.
I love how Kenzi and the Motor City Rebels rally around Grue and his health struggles. They don't coddle him, and make him take accountability for his actions, while lovingly supporting him. We learn early on why Kenzi hates her mother, but when the truth is revealed why Shayla treated Ruger the way she did, it was heartbreaking. 💔 Why put that child through all that? Ughhh.... 😤
It took a special woman to get Ruger past his insecurities, but when he did, he loved hard. Kenzi was his world, and it was beautiful to watch. Enjoyed this. 👍🏿👍🏿
Mrs. Dior, come to the front, please, because you put the pen to paper. Please take a bow. This masterpiece is well-written that grabs your attention, and pulls it through each page. Roger was CEO of the motorcycle club, and he executed his role well. Now when Ms. Kenzi comes on the scene. It changes thoughts, emotions, and hearts. She produced a twinkle in Ruger's eye from the moment he saw her. It only takes one to change a man's perspective on love. Kenzi, by happen, were that one. Ruger may have been rough around the edges, but he was soft for Kenzi. He was also a well-mannered man despite his "mother" raising because he informed Grue he was going to pursue Kenzi. He followed the proper step and made her his.
This series has been on 🔥. If you have not gotten into it, please take my advice and do so. Each book touches on some serious life issues, real world problems. Mrs. Dior incorporated mental health in this novel. Although Grue's mental health was obvious, Ruger's "mother" had some issues as well. It's that time. Grab your copy of this work of art. It is well worth the read.
Fun & fast-paced book, but I can’t give it a rating or get over the fact that the MMC repeatedly mocks some poor woman’s labia for being MEAT CURTAINS. It was giving incel.
Watching Ruger and Kenzi fall in love kept me turning the pages. But honestly, I wish we’d gotten more of them interacting so the love story didn’t feel so rushed. Since this was a novella, a little extra banter and relationship-building would’ve made their connection hit harder.
And that therapy session? Very unethical, lol. But that’s her man, so I guess we just roll with it.
Overall, it was enjoyable, but I needed more depth and space for their love story to breathe. Still worth the read, but I’m hoping future books balance the fast pacing with more relationship feels.
When I tell you Ruger just shot straight up to one of my favorites in this whole collection? I mean that! He’s that perfect mix of quiet power and don’t-make-me-step-in energy—and baby, when it’s time to ride, he does not miss.
Kenzi? Whew, my girl got caught up in some mess that had nothing to do with her, but when you have a brother in the Motor City Rebels and some disrespect goes down? You make that call. And Grue rides, so does the whole squad—“One Band, One Sound” for real!
What she didn’t expect was that instant spark with Ruger. Her sassy mouth versus his no-nonsense, “do what I say” vibe? Whew, the tension was delicious. The back and forth, the chemistry, the way they clashed but still clicked? It gave everything it needed to give.
This read flew by and left me wanting more. Definitely diving deeper into Rose Dior’s catalog, because if she keeps giving like this? I’m all in.
This book was so good that I couldn’t put it down. I read it in one sitting and loved every second of it! I loved Ruger and his tough exterior but softness when it came to Kenzie! Definitely one of my favorite motorcycle club books!!
Ruger was such a feel-good book to me despite the drama. Ruger was smitten with Kenzi from the first moment he laid eyes on her. He took her under his protection because of a rival MC, and it was on from there. I did love the way that he respected Gruesome's wishes in the beginning even with Kenzi trying to seduce him. When more feelings developed between them, he decided to take matters into his own hands and get his woman. His "mother" could kick rocks even after that so-called apology. He didn't deserve how she treated him despite the circumstances. The relationship between him and his brother, Jaxson, was heart-warming as well as the connection that Kenzi formed with Jaxson and his family. The nicknames were sooooo cute!! 😂😂 The drama with the rival MC was handled expeditiously, and it didn't hurt my feelings at all. Great job Rosé Dior!! I'm hoping you will provide us with a follow-up book with Ruger and Kenzi. 😊
Idk how I feel about this book. Like, I didn’t dislike it, but I’m also not like “omg this is the best book ever!” Ya know? However, I love me some Rosé Dior books, so I’m going to recommend you read it anyway lol.
Ruger is an honorable man who will fuck you up if needed. Kenzi came off as a bit naive but very much about her business. I liked them together, but I found myself smiling more during Kenzi’s interactions with Ghana/Grue, Jaxson, and Weslei.
One thing’s for sure and that’s you can feel the sexual tension between Ruger and Kenzi on these pages. Given the length of the book and that there’s actually a plot, we read about them sexing two and a half times. This may be “controversial” buuuttt I actually appreciated that 🫣 I was really into the plot and the subplot about Ruger and his mom, so I really wanted to know how things were going to get resolved.
Ruger was that natural born leader that exuded BDE and was a problem solver. He was made to find live & live on Kenzi exactly the way it happened. Kenzi was shorted slightly in life but she always wanted to learn and do more! The bind she had with her brother Grue was beautiful with a sprinkle of dysfunction. Ruger & Jaxson’s relationship was so beautiful & I want a plate! Shayna can kick rocks & what he said he’ll do to April she needed (iykyk)! Lani deserved more, yes I said it!
Although there were a couple twists, the outcome of this story was pretty predictable. Still, I liked these characters- especially how easily Jaxie welcomed ZiZi into the family fold- even before Ruger could verbalize his feelings. After reading his backstory though, It was heartbreaking to hear how Shayna treated him, and it made me as a reader, understand more clearly why he behaved the way he did. As such, I hate the rhetoric that although the pain she caused was years ago he should just "get over it" and forgive her. F that. And disrespectfully F her! Even after her revelation, she was still a trash human for that behavior and like Ruger, I wanted Jax to choose him. Overall, I liked this story but an epilouge would have been the cherry on top.
Whoo...that was a a fast romance. I loved Meikai and Kenzi...they def were both strong minded and resilient. Which made them perfect for each other. The fact that kenzi was going to school to be a psychiatrist was def interesting, didn't expect or see that till the end and it actually made since in a way. Loved that everyone was speaking into existence their romance and they just had to realize it was inevitable. This story was just beautiful 😍
This was definitely a good read!!!… Shayna should be ashamed of herself for the treatment of Ruger, because she had the voice to stay or leave!!!… I was happy to know that his father stepped in and took him out of the environment!!!… Ruger needed a healing for his soul and he most certainly got it and for that, it made the journey to healing better!!!… Kenzie was a woman on a mission and I loved everything about her!!!…
Oo, this was a sweet MC story. Kenzi and Makai (Rug) were perfect for each other. They matched each other's energy, no doubt. One look at each other did it.
I liked how Ruger took charge of the situation with Kenzi and her kidnapping. It was funny how she was such a rebel, but Rug shut that down quickly. Her friend was a snake. Betrayal by a friend is low down.
The situation with meeting up with the mother was definitely not expected. I would have loved to see the proposal and Kenzi meeting up with her brother.
🤦🏾♀️Ok, if you say so BLP🥴🤷🏾♀️ I’m not interested‼️I’ve tried however this series just ain’t for me‼️More so, this storyline was nonsensical, messy, disjointed with misogynic, manipulative & juvenile antics for just validation 🙄 at forty & thirty years old 😮🙂↔️‼️ “Ruger (BLP Motorcycle Clubs - Book 7) was barely a 3.5 ⭐️’s, wasn’t my favorite storyline or read from Author Ms. Dior. Unnecessarily blindsided by a last minute revelation 🤷🏾♀️ 🥴‼️
Ruger Ruger Ruger! I love a book where a black man isn’t afraid to express his trauma and get the proper help for it! Ruger just needed that and his Mona Lisa was exactly on time. I thought this man was going to be hell with that name but he wasn’t. I love finding out how and why they have their club names in this BLP collaboration. This MC romance is in my top 5 for sure.
I would definitely have to say that Ruger found love at first sight. His first glance at Kenzi and he was in love with her beauty. Taking her to his place to keep her safe was just an added bonus. Jaxson knew his brother, and knew he had developed feelings for Kenzi. They fought their attraction for as long as they could. Ruger had to have a conversation with Grue because he promised him that he wouldn't touch her. Ruger and Kenzi were very compatible. Their love came fast. Excellent read.
I love an educated brother with an unhinged edge. Ruger aka Brother Kai is the epitome of that definition. He is fine, sexy, and crazy. But what makes him beautiful is his laid-back peaceful soul. For the most part, he is unbothered until he's not. Hitting and shouting at him is a trigger. His mom treated him like trash. She never showed him love or care. But he loved her no matter how she treated him. At the age of 17, he stopped and vowed to never love another woman except for his grandmother.
Rescuing Kenzi and seeing her rare beauty shifted something in him. He wanted more and he knew she would be the person to heal his broken heart. She became his love, world, and purpose.
Okay, I mess with Ruger. I enjoyed him from the beginning to the end. I most appreciated his openness on the subject of his upbringing and hang-ups. He was a "family" man and protected and loved those who he respected.
This was a pretty good story. Kenzie and Ruger clashed like oil and water initially, but forced proximity allowed for them to eventually let their guard down and explore their attraction to each other. 3.5/5 stars
I loved ruger and Kenzi! I loved the relationship between the brothers. First book about a motorcycle club that wasn’t bogged down in illegal activities. Definitely didn’t see the ending coming but I’m glad ruger got closure! With friends like Nani who needs enemies
I loved every minute of this book. Ruger was mean asf but Kenzi matched his energy. I could tell right off the bat bag that they would make a perfect couple. I wish there was a part 2 because I miss them already. Rose Dior 10’s across the that board!!
My first book by Rose' Dior and I enjoyed. I loved Ruger. I appreciated the build up to them becoming intimate. It was a short read but it packed a punch. I plan to read more by this author.
Good story, great intrigue, high drama. Them ending up together wasn't a surprise. Especially since he kept her within his grasp from their first meeting.
