Matt Chander's book Awake and Alive is a great tool to add to any quiet time. The book is a 30 day devotional of pretty well known scriptures with great encouragement about reviving our faith and not just being spiritually stagnant. . Matt Chandler does a great job of putting the devotional in context with the scripture he is going over. In lots of devotionals, I have personally found this to be rare. The applications are practical and the devotional is only 30 days as mentioned above so its not a major commitment for those who do not want to commit to something long term. My favorite part is at the end of each day, Matt has a bold challenge to actually put what we have learned into action. I find it helpful to retain information this way and to really get the most out of what I am learning. I will defiantly read this again when finished in a couple of days.
With that said, I would have liked to see a little more theological depth that I am used to with Matt's other books. Also, for long term believers, this book may feel a little repetitive from what you know, but even though the information may not be groundbreaking , the reminders are nice to have to help strengthen our faith. Don't expect a life changing theological revelation, but this is more of a faith reset that you may benefit from if it is what you are looking for.

Awake and Alive was such a refreshing surprise. I went into it hoping for a simple daily devotional, but it honestly felt like a month-long conversation with a trusted pastor who knows how to challenge you without making you feel weighed down.
Each day is short enough to fit into a busy morning, but somehow still manages to speak right to the heart. Matt Chandler has a way of making big spiritual truths feel personal and practical, and a lot of the reflections hit me at just the right moments. More than once, I caught myself thinking, “Wow… I needed that today.”
By the end of the 30 days, I felt more steady, more focused, and more aware of God’s presence in my everyday life. It’s the kind of devotional you can come back to whenever you feel spiritually dry or distracted.
If you’re looking for something that’s warm, encouraging, and genuinely faith-reviving, this one is absolutely worth it. It really did help me feel awake and alive again.
What a great devotional packed with a wide variety of topics of the Christian life. I give this book 5 stars and would be a great gift for Christians or seekers alike. I enjoyed the reflection questions and the challenges after each day's devotional. Great book overall.
