Discover the Jesus who has been pursuing you since before time! Join an unforgettable journey through the birth, ministry, and death of the Messiah as found in the Old and New Testaments, and have your own life transforming experience.
When reading the Bible we often miss essential details that add richness and significance, and therefore don't grasp the bigger picture. New York Times bestselling author Rabbi Jason Sobel, in his unique and engaging way, helps readers see God's story in high definition, enabling them to better understand the cultural and historical background of Scripture, God's intention for every detail, and how it applies to our lives.
Revealing hidden gems of prophecy and promises, Transformed by the Messiah helps answer questions such as:
Is there any significance to the fact that Jesus was born in Bethlehem? How does the Messiah's baptism set an example for us to emulate and what did it undo? Did the Messiah have to die on a cross and why did he not rise until the third day? Who are the shepherds and why was it important that the baby be found wrapped in swaddling cloth and laid in a manger? How can we embrace a supernatural perspective—living with a sense of possibility--and not be limited by a strictly natural perspective? Why does Genesis 3 talk about the "seed of a woman?" Why were the disciples so willing to immediately drop their nets, leave their families, and follow Jesus? You'll also learn how to respond with faith, not fear; trust God's plan, purpose, and provision; and move forward in the power of the Spirit.
If you need hope, or simply a better understanding of God's plan of redemption for all mankind and your part in it, Transformed by the Messiah will open your heart and mind to be able to live in the supernatural power of God's Spirit as you follow Jesus and His command to make disciples. And whether you are Jewish or not, to help you read and study in a way that connects His story in the Old and New Testaments.
Like the movie National Treasure, except this is an international treasure hunt and time travel through the Bible. Rabbi Sobel connects details of Jesus throughout the Old and New Testament. He unlocks and reveals meaning and connections in ways that truly do transform. He writes with a style that is easy to understand, relevant, and exciting to read. He unpacks so much knowledge that it’s a master class. “To be transformed by the Messiah, it’s important to take his story and apply to your own.” When we better understanding his story we are able to apply it to our own. This book does that in ways that will blow your mind!
I just finished this book. Wow, there was a lot to take in, learn, and understand. If you like connecting passages from the old testament to the new testament and find Hebrew word meanings helpful, you will without a doubt enjoy this read. I know I did.
Transformed by the Messiah absolutely blew my mind. As someone who already believes in Christ, I went into this book expecting to learn—but I didn’t expect to be so deeply moved. Rabbi Jason Sobel brings together Scripture, history, culture, and powerful insight in a way that makes the identity of Jesus as the Messiah shine with even greater clarity.
What struck me most was how compelling his explanations are. I found myself thinking again and again, If everyone read this, they would believe too. It strengthened my own faith and gave me a richer understanding of God’s story and His purposes. I highly recommend for those questioning who Jesus was, or for someone who wants to deepen their faith and be reminded that God's promises are real and he is SO faithful.

In the book Transformed by the Messiah, author Rabbi Jason Sobel writes about linking our understanding of our Christian faith with the historical roots of Judaism. Rabbi Sobel explains many events in the New Testament through the len of Old Testament prophecies. He also cites many Jewish traditions to help fill in details like the shepherds coming to worship Jesus. What was the significance of them? And the connection of the Wise Men to Daniel. This was a good book with good information. Not sure of were he got some of his information. I would recommend this book. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Rabbi Jason really opened my eyes with the way he connects the Old and New Testament prophecies and events. I was taught to read and understand the verse and chapter. But understanding comes from joining Characters like Moses, Joseph and Adam and seeing how similar their life events and actions are connection to God/Yeshua/Jesus. I loved the structure of the book and especially the Summary at the end of the chapter - God's Intentional Story for your Life. Thank you Rabbi

This book has answered so many questions I had and didn't know I had about Jesus. The connections made are really mind-blowing. I never would have put them together without the insight from Rabbi Sobel. He is extremely knowledgeable in both the OT, the NT, Jewish tradition, and Hebrew writings.
This book has opened my eyes to new information that connects the old with the new, in depth explanations of the connections, and so much more. I will recomend this book to anyone who has the desire to know Jesus deeper and transform their lives into the person God has made them to be.
