A house-swap between distant islands. A widow standing at a crossroads. Two women whose lives will be forever changed after an unforgettable summer.
Late spring on Martha's Vineyard brings blooming hydrangeas, salty breezes, and, for Eva, mounting pressures. She's sure her boyfriend of the past eight years is finally going to propose, and she's ready, she thinks. Her mother Meghan and Aunt Oriana have been planning her wedding in their heads for years, and they haven't stopped pestering her about it.
But instead of a ring, Eva gets news that shatters her future overnight.
Half the world away on a sun-drenched Greek island called Paros, a fifty-six-year-old artist named Dimitra struggles to rebuild after the death of her husband Kostos. Her large, well-meaning family hovers too close, and her sister’s constant meddling only deepens her grief.
Then a call from her free-spirited friend Rachelle offers a way a summer home swap with her cousin Eva. “I think you both need this,” Rachelle says, and Dimitra, on a whim, agrees.
As Dimitra steps into the rhythm of life on Martha’s Vineyard—morning walks, literary readings, and the unexpected kindness of the Coleman clan—she begins to rediscover herself. And when a mysterious man on a sailboat enters her life, she must is it too late to begin again?
Meanwhile in Paros, a vibrant community draws Eva into the fold, celebrating life's messy beauty and dancing late into the night. But when she begins working for a reclusive marble sculptor named Jean-Paul, she learns something serious about Dimitra's deceased husband -- something that could change everything.
Footprints in the Sand is book thirteen of The Coleman Series series, a heart-wrenching yet hopeful family drama that unfolds between the glittering shores of Nantucket Island and Martha's Vineyard.
Katie writes women's fiction and clean, wholesome contemporary romance. She looks to everyday, real-life family issues to weave stories of heartfelt emotions, love and loss, and everything in between.
Come transport yourself to Martha's Vineyard: an island of vivid blue ocean, white sand, and a lively community of locals, who celebrate everything from the bright New England summers to the cold, yet cozy, snowcapped winters.
I really loved this book ! They need to make a movie out of it. There are two settings - the Greek Island of Paros and Martha's Vineyard. The main plot involves temporarily switching houses for Dimitra and Eva. Eva's boyfriend Finn has betrayed her and Dimitra is still pining for her late husband, Kostos. The young Eva and older Dimitra learn to adapt to their new surroundings and meet new friends. I won't divulge the entire plot because that is the genius of Katie Winters. Expect the unexpected ! I urge you to read this wonderful book !

I voluntarily read a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sometimes you start a book by a favorite author with certain expectations…and end up being disappointed. That’s what happened with Footprints in the Sand. As much as I enjoy books by Katie Winters, I just couldn’t get into this one. The storyline was fine; the characters sort of meh; the plot twists and turns were pretty standard; and while there is never a clear HEA, the ending was good. I recommend you grab a copy and decide for yourself. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was a bit disappointed with it.)
This is book 13 in the series! Eva and Demetria have a house swap - from the US to Greece. 2 beautiful islands and 2 women struggling. But can they both find love or at least comfort from their past in their new surroundings?? Read and find out! I love this series - it’s so well written!
The book was different, slow at times and than action explodes Dimitri and Eva has life changing experience s. The main men of the book do not come out well and are not trustworthy in the least. Ending could have been a bit longer.
I really enjoyed this story. It kept me reading well into the night until it was over!! Great characters with the twists and turns of a suspenseful journey. WOW! Loved the HEA!❤️❤️
