So I reviewed the books individually, but I read them in this format as a trilogy.
Basically it tackled things that lots of couples go through: being inexperienced at sex and not bothering to learn what your partner likes, kink shaming and being judgmental and closed minded, and reverting to being a lazy lover once the newness of love wears off and the weariness of life sets in.
I loved that this book didn’t take itself seriously at all, and it was really funny and silly. The spice was high, the plot was based off the Alice books, and it was just good, dirty fun.
What the hell did I just read? I was recommended this book based on title alone, and I expected a low-brow, paint-by-numbers "Alice meets familiar faces and shags them" type read. Instead, I literally laughed out loud repeatedly. As the book goes on through its three novellas, it moves further and further from being lit-smut into pure absurdist, fourth-wall-breaking literary humor. This is a book where Humpty Dumpty is a libidinous cross-dressing Diceman wannabe with a panty fetish, where Charles Dickens owns and operates a literal dildo gun, and where the only sex position approved by the tyrannical government is "missionary while watching Lifetime movies." Either you laugh, or you don't. I think growing up watching wordy, reference-heavy and slightly smarmy cartoons like "Animaniacs" prepared me and my generation for this kind of raunchy-but-smart, anything-goes humor.
This was the first novel/series I ever read that was this sexual. I have to say the author did a great job at allowing the book plot to flow, the characters to be introduced, and for the moral of the story to be seen. I do think that this series opened my mind in some misunderstood aspects of the sexual world. Alice in Wonderland is strange and quirky novel in itself, Fifty Shades of Grey was very open and sexual in many aspects that were taboo, putting these two together was a wild, sexual ride that covers many aspects that are strange, quirky and are considered taboo to discuss or be interested in. It was a very easy, intense, but quick read.
Overall this is a very creative way to look at Alice in Wonderland. This is a great book to read if you have an open mind about sexual content. It is also better than expected due to the side dialog from the author and the humorous dialog. Definitely a fun and quick read yet also steamy and romantic.
pleasantly surprised. It was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be straight erotica but there was actually something else to it. It made me laugh with the satire in it.
This was a super funny, and light-hearted read. Lots of corny moments, and heavy on the heat. Like all heat, with laughs. This will be reread for sure!
After finishing Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland by Melinda DuChamp, I wanted more. Barely five minutes after turning the last page of that tantalizing first book in the series, I had acquired The Complete Fifty Shades of Alice: A Fairy Tale for Adults, which is a bundle consisting of the Fifty Shades of Alice in Wonderland, Fifty Shades of Alice Through the Looking Glass and Fifty Shades of Alice at the HellFire Club.
With high expectations, I dived into the second and third books. And, as with the first book, it was filled with humor, familiar characters, pun, bad poetry and sex. There were a few typos, but not so many that it was a distraction. I loved the entire journey through all three books, from the ‘problem’ that Alice is presented with in the beginning and how she works it through (hah) to the end where she’s provided with a solution. The stories were imaginative and creative, making sure I wasn’t ever bored with the plot.
This trilogy has quickly climbed up to be one of my favourites. I do think, however, that the first book is the best of the three. The second and the third book are anything but subtle about the message they’re trying to convey. Granted, they weren’t even trying to be subtle, but after a few times it does become a little bit boring to read over and over again about how Alice should be more open minded in the second book. I’m a big fan of books that show us the message without explicitly telling it, and the Fifty Shades of Alice series has a tendency of both showing and telling, which is just a bit too much of a good thing.
Still, I was not disappointed and my only major gripe with these three books is that they were too short altogether. Well done, I’ll put my grubby little hands on book #4 and #5 soon!
I purchased this book from Amazon to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 The Complete Fifty Shades of Alice by Melinda Duchamp. This erotica trilogy features The Fifty Shades of Alice In Wonderland, Fifty Shades of Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Fifty Shades of Alice at The Hellfire Club. This is the first erotica book I have ever reviewed and I'm not sure what I should say. It's a fairly easy read and quite comical. There really is no plot but it spins off the classic Fairytale Alice in Wonderland. You will never think of Alice the same way after reading this series. I found myself laughing through most of the book. The sex is not steaming and romanticizing, and by no means is it innocent. The first turn off was that Alice's boyfriend was named Lewis. I understand wanting to reference the original story but the implications of using the authors name while there are rumors about Carrol and the real life Alice is very uncomfortable.
And the written into the narrative Amazon ad was more irritating than cheesy.
Could not finish completely. Reached part 2 (Through the Looking Glass) and gave up.
It's a nice idea to write an adult erotic parody of the Lewis Carrol classic children's' books and to start with it works well, there is humour, fun and erotic fantasy but after a while the joke starts to wear thin and becomes more forced.
Thus, Through the looking glass is less enjoyable than Adventures in Wonderland and the final Hellfire Club has no association with Lewis Carrol and the concept looses its appeal almost totally.
Overall this book is something special! It takes the bones of Alice in wonderland and twists them into a parody full of naughty bits. While I did struggle with the word usage some( a lot of repeated phrases) once you decide to look past that it’s a fun and dirty read 😉
If you’re looking for some sexy Alice in wonderland smut this is the book to read! I enjoyed myself while reading this book and the last installment was the craziest of them the 3 books lol!
Alice was dating Lewis when their sex life was bad, then she married him, in the hopes of would get better. Through each story they learned his to please each other. In the end their relationship grew.
This book wasn't exactly what I had thought it was going to be. I figured a much different story line but I wasn't as interested as the story went on. I did finish the book but I wouldn't re-read it. I was rather disappointed with how the spicy scenes were talked about.
Great story even if it was just fantasy. A very hot read that put a new twist on Alice in wonderland, I dont think I'll be able to read the classic tale without thinking does alice and the Hatter use a sex chair
This is the first 3 books of the kinky Alice ( in wonderland) series. The first of all the books ( Alice in wonderland) I enjoyed and found quite sexy, but as it progresses into the next 2 books, although still enjoyable I found it to be a little repetitive in places
Highly erotic fantasy! I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much going in to this. It surprised me by being well-written with humor but it was not silly at all. It's definitely worth the read. Just be warned, this is graphic erotica and more.
This a funny and sexy meta story. I loved it. It was hot enough to keep me reading, but funny enough that I didn’t have work hard to disconnect from reality.
