S.S. Lange is a mom, wife, small business owner, manager and freelancer. Oh, and an author. Obviously, her writing is done on pure passion and caffeine. She writes suspense novels that are sometimes gritty, occasionally funny (intentional or not, you decide), and chock full of chatty characters who get relatively happy endings.

This book will cause visceral reactions.

It deals with some very strong subjects that can be difficult to read.

I spent a good portion of this book mad. Mad at the author. Mad at the characters. There were so many times I wanted to just quit reading the book but then couldn't put it down.

As an author myself I can appreciate the skill that it takes to elicit those kinds of feelings from a reader so while I wanted to put it down it just drew me in even more.

This is not a feel good thriller but it does have many thrilling points throughout the story. The heroine is thrust into a life altering situation which I expected to be glossed over as a lot of authors tend to do but not in this case. You're taken along for the entire gut retching ordeal and then through the aftermath of the traumatic event.

I only wish that this book would have been a self-contained unit in the series. I like series but prefer that each book have a clear defined ending. This is book one in the journey of the heroine's life that may span unknown books.

If you want a book that gets your blood pumping and causes internal debates then this is a book you need to read.

What did i think of this book? i thought it was a very exciting book. i had to walk away from it a few times because it so intense. i love the interaction between the two sisters. they form a relationship even though they just met. i thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second one in this series. if you like a good book that is interesting and exciting with a bit of humor... this is the book for you.

S.S. Lange’s debut book is a well written, gritty, fast paced novel. I would have given this book a 4.5 star rating if there was such a rating but there isn't so I rounded up to a deserving 5. LONG LOST has a great plot along with well-developed characters, emphasized by the fact that I was getting upset at the main character at times for her poor decisions along with cheering her on for her good ones. Not being one to write spoilers, I will only say S.S. Lange did a great job leaving me wanting more with the ending she chose for the book. Looking forward to the next book in the Charlotte Hayes series!

I happened to meet S.S. Lange at a book signing at a local bookstore in NH that I was attending to support a friend. I was very intrigued when she described her book series and decided to get the first one on my Kindle (Long Lost) when I got home. After a few pages I was hooked! I flew through it and was on to the next (Blood is Thicker). I am currently reading her latest (Almost Found) and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Charlotte Hayes is a deep and interesting character - both real and flawed. S.S. Lange is such a talented author. I can't wait to read more of her work.

Sharp, edgy, fast paced action, and very intense subject matter. This book is not for the faint of heart. This must be my first book by Lange, as I am sure I would have remembered reading her before. You don't just finish this story and move on to the next, you literally digest it. This story has everything a thriller junkie is looking for; sex, violence, compassion, suspense, and it's well written to boot. Kudos to Lange.

Good book. It grabbed me from the very start and kept my attention though the whole story. The only problem, and the reason I only gave it 2 stars is because all though not exactly a cliff hanger. The story does not end. Very disappointing

Wow

Book has some pretty serious stuff happening. Fortunately Charlie is really strong and smart. When she starts to let others share her experiences she starts to heal.

Interesting characters

Kept me interested, funky writing style, main character. Was not perfect, human and resilient, funny and relatable. It made your route for her and despise the bad guys.

There were some parts that were ok but for the most part to much was really not ok and confusing I really don't get the FBI using civilians in a sting without their knowledge especially if they were going to get raped, beaten and nearly killed that just all read wrong to me and it was confusing trying to following who were good guys and who were bad guys and who was playing both sides.
I like Charlie as a character but she was the only one I liked and even then she started out strong then got weaker and weaker came back a bit in the end but not enough to make me want to read more which was disappointing from the synopsis I really thought I would love this series but I ended up finding it to weak and overall to violent without enough character strength to pull it off.

Poor Read

Unfortunately I am one of those people who can't stop reading a book no matter how bad it is-and this was bad
