Once upon a time, two best friends decided to write paranormal romance. And while that was awesome, they also sometimes wanted to write insanely dirty stuff that wasn’t paranormal at all. This is that stuff.

4 O'Kane Stars

ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Zan has had feelings for Tatiana for a while now but he probably would have probably never acted on them if Dallas hadn't ordered him to work on getting Tatiana on their side. But with his boss's command to win the crafter over to defuse the rebellion brewing between the crafters' ranks in Sector 4, Zan has the perfect excuse to get closer to Tatiana. The only problem is that Tatiana Stone isn't willing to play Sector politics after the destruction and pain her father caused before Dallas overthrew him and took control.

But to get her sister back from the thug that uses her she would do anything. Even throw in her lot with the O'Kanes. But she isn't ready to make commitment to them and she may never be. She has worked hard to win her independency and she isn't willing to give it up.

For a novella the book was fun. But as is usually the case with books of this length I never really connected to the characters, never felt part of the story. Still, Zan was pretty awesome. He knew what Tatiana needed and provided without making a big deal and going all caveman on her like the men in the previous books. He allowed her the freedom to make her choices and the independency she craved in making it on her own financially. That more than anything sold me on the story.

I also liked Tatiana. She didn't let others put her down and she fought tooth and nail for what she wanted in her life. She didn't let her father's sins destroy her, although he did give her a few trust issues. But who wouldn't have them if their father was a heartless thug? Or when after her father died everyone blamed her for what he had done? But she never gave up and she worked hard to get where she was.

If the book was slightly longer it could have been perfect.

"I don't have to be gentle. But maybe I want to be."

Tatiana once was the princess of Sector Four, until her father was taken down by Dallas O'Kane. Now she is known as the Stone Princess, her days of luxury, security and safety all taken away with a blink of an eye. She now knows better than to rely on others, making and succeeding on her own in the market place, with the protection she buys from the O'Kanes as her only safety net, but it's still not enough to put her at ease. For months now Zan has been watching over her, making her smile, laugh and forget her worries for the few moments he stops by. But it could never work, being with Zan is like choosing a side and that is not something she is willing to risk. Her sister is in bed with a dangerous man, a coward who thinks he has what it takes to take over the sector from the O'Kanes, and as long as she is in his bed, Tatiana has to play nice and not piss any one off. Now that Dallas has given Zan the green light to pursue Tatiana, he is ready to show her just how much he's wanted and needed her, but it's all up to her...
"You make a decision," he answered simply. "Whether I'm worth it or not."

Tatiana wants nothing more than to be with Zan, but it has to be on her rules, she will not be a kept woman again, leaving her future in the hands of a man no matter how noble his intentions may be. But when things in the market place begin to escalate and Tatiana is left with no choice, she turned her and her sister's fate over to Zan and pray that the O'Kanes are loyal to their word. Zan understands he has to tread carefully with Tatiana, because with one wrong word or one motive misunderstood he can lose her forever. She needs to recognize the difference between a man who wanted to control her...and one who wanted to protect her.
"I want you to be happy," he explained. "Whatever that means. Whether I'm part of that perfect picture you have in your head or not."

Beyond Possession is a novella that is part of the Beyond series, while it can be read as a standalone I'd recommend reading the others just to get more depth as to the other characters in the story. This was a bitter sweet kind of read, because as much as you want to feel the joy for the two there is that hidden undercurrent of sadness, not allowing them to be completely happy. I personally think this novella could have easily been a novel in itself, there is so much more to tell of Tatiana's past and a trip down memory lane could have been fun and exciting, to see the O'Kanes fighting for what they believe in. Regardless I still enjoyed the read, while on the tamer side of the beyond series, it was pretty cute seeing the family side of them vs. their raunchy passionate side. Another great addition to an amazing series.

I'm the biggest fan of the Beyond series, I'm a little obsessed with the world but most of all with the characters and I can't get enough of them. I think it's great that Donna and Bree (the ladies behind the Kit Rocha name) write these little novellas to give us more about some of the minor characters, the ones we see on the sidelines but who don't necessarily have a major role to play in the ongoing storyline. Although the novellas give us a glimpse on the world and often let us catch up with some of the other characters we're crazy about they are also more tightly focused on the main couple and the romance so while they're shorter they're most definitely not lacking in heat.

Beyond Possession is the story of Tatiana and Zan, we've met both of these characters previously but didn't know a huge amount about them so I was excited to get to know them better. Tatiana's father used to be the leader of Sector Four but unlike Dallas O'Kane he was neither liked or respected, he was a thug who ruled by fear and even though he is long gone he left quite a mark on the sector. Tatiana is a skilled craftswoman but she is stuck between the people who hated her father and love Dallas and those who resent the O'Kane way of life and want to see a return to the old days. Tatiana has spent years trying to protect herself and her sister Catalina, she doesn't want trouble and she knows the best way to avoid it is to keep her head down and remain neutral but that isn't easy when Catalina has started dating a guy who is very outspoken about his hatred of the O'Kanes. Tatiana has tried to keep Catalina away from Wallace but that just pushed the two of them together and now Wallace is attempting to use his connection to the Stone sisters to push his agenda.

Zan is loyal to Dallas but feels he let his boss down when he was injured in an ambush. He will do anything to make up for his failure and right now that means keeping on top of the unrest amongst the market traders and trying to smooth things over. He has always wanted Tatiana but understands her need to remain under the radar and has respected her wishes but now is the perfect opportunity for him to get closer and show her just how important she is to him. Can Tatiana continue to resist Zan's charms or will he finally get past her defences?

I loved this couple, I love how Tatiana is so independent and so protective over her sister. She has worked so hard for everything she has achieved and she isn't going to give it up easily. Zan admires her for her spirit and the last thing he wants to do is crush her dreams, he knows she needs to be able to stand on her own two feet and would never do anything to jeopardise that. Zan really is a great guy, one who may want to protect Tatiana but who would never try to stifle her and who has a tight leash on his caveman tendencies. They fit together really well and I enjoyed seeing them realise how special they could be together. Beyond Possession is a fabulous addition to the series and Tatiana and Zan are another new favourite couple. I don't know how I'm going to survive the wait for the next book - I just wish we could have a new book every month!

Yowza! As much as I enjoyed the full-length books in this series, I think I love the novellas more. They're shorter and focused more on the couple rather than on the whole sector politics and what-not, which I really like.

Kit Rocha has created one of the most vivid dystopian world. And the O'Kanes are, let's just say, UNFORGETTABLE bunch of characters. And this series is one of the most well-written erotica out there.

Zan is an O'Kane and Tatiana Stone is the daughter of the former Sector Four tyrant. She taught herself to be invisible and not to take sides for survival's sake. But Zan saw her and slowly but surely, Tatiana's resolve about keeping to herself is crumbling under Zan's patience and loyalty. I loved Zan. He's a protector. But he knows that he can't force Tatiana's loyalty. His patience is astounding. He is perfect for Tatiana. He waited until she was ready. He never once pushed her.

It's also wonderful to catch up with previous characters in the series. I think I love Dallas and Lex even more now than I did in their book. And Jared...*fans self* I can't wait for his book.

This is a slightly different read it's more focused on the marketplace, the people and the politics and it gives us a much better idea of how delicate everything it and how little it would take for it all to blow up.
Tatiana Stone is in an unenviable position, her father was the previous ruler of Sector 4 and a tyrant, people viewed her as a spoilt princess and after his death she's had to struggle and she's earned every bit of the respect she now holds.
Her life is lonely, her baby sister, who she always protected is now living with Wallace and he's stirring up trouble with the O'Kane's and Tatiana is stuck somewhere in the middle trying so hard not to fall on either side.
Like most of the woman in this series Tatiana is strong and independent but she needs to learn it's not a weakness to lean on someone and to love.
I liked both Tatiana and Zan and the slightly different view this book gives us.

Another quick trip down into Sector Four.

3.5 stars.

This novella provides a slightly different view into life within Sector Four, with a focus on the politics in the marketplace. I love that each book is fleshing out this world more and more, and still giving us the chance to check in on the bunch of filthy but loveable baddasses that inhabit it. This time the focus is on badass club bouncer, Zan, and local crafter, Tatiana.

Tatiana is the daughter of the tyrant who used to rule Sector Four - the man who was killed in order for Dallas O’Kane to take over. Since then she has been a target, snubbed by those who survived her father’s cruel leadership, and a symbol of power for those trying to rise up and take down the powerful O’Kanes. She lives her life balanced on a fine line – staying in the shadows and keeping her head down, not showing allegiance to either side of the battle.

When the growing rebellion within Sector Four gains the attention of Dallas O’Kane, he sends Zan in to shut it down – which includes tempting Tatiana to the O’Kane side of the battle lines. Zan is only too willing to do whatever he can to prove himself to Dallas after a previous attack which left him feeling like he failed the man, and his feelings for Tatiana make the job even sweeter.

“Why me?” she repeated, all that Stone recklessness turning it into a challenge.
He met her gaze, unflinching and unabashed. “Because I don’t just look at you … I see you. I’ve been seeing you for months.”

It’s made very clear that the feelings between these two have been bubbling away quietly for some time, so the tension between them is already pretty high. And as with all books in this series, the sexy time is steaming! Zan and Tatiana have great chemistry, and Tatiana’s need to be free and open up to Zan completely in the bedroom means that the sex is not only hot, but has an emotional element to it that makes the intimacy even more intense.

“I want you to do beautiful, filthy things to me. I want you to fuck me.”
The hand on her belly slid to her hip, and Zan edged his thumb under her waistband to stroke her skin. “I’m here,” he whispered, then tilted her head back with his other hand and claimed her mouth.

I love Zan! The man is awesome! He wants Tatiana, but more than that, he wants to protect her, to keep her safe, and give her the home and family that she has never experienced. He has a huge heart, and there were some really sweet moments between them. But as much as Tatiana wants him, she doesn’t want to get drawn into Sector politics, so it’s not an easy sell. But with her only sister in the direct line of fire from the bad guy, and the promise of Zan and all that he can offer laid out in front of her, there’s only so long she can resist.

“What do you need?”
… “Someone who gets me. Who doesn’t want me to be anything or anyone else. What do I want? … I want it to be you.”
“I want it to be me, too.”

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. It takes a bit of a step away from the ongoing storylines, but I would still definitely recommend reading each of the books in order so that you get the whole picture as it unfolds.

Definitely recommended for fans of the series. 3.5 stars.

This series is my guilty pleasure. Every time a new book comes out I lock myself away with a cocktail and slide into the world of the O'Kanes.

 photo ThisiswhatIcallbeinghappy_zps23ed5544.gif

From the beginning I really liked Tatiana. She was dealt a really crappy hand and she's doing her best to fly under the radar and just survive in Sector Four. She's no shrinking violet and knows how to protect herself against anyone.

Zan was dealing with his own guilt and when asked by Dallas O'Kane to get information he jumped at the opportunity to spend more time with Tatiana. As with all of the O'Kane men, Zan is a hot and sexy badass and not one to mess with. Yet he allowed Tatiana to see how he felt about her from the very beginning and was willing to do anything for her, even if meant letting her find her own way without him.

This series is known for the deliciously naughty moments (Yes please!) but Tatiana and Zan's story had more of a passionate feel to it for me. They definitely had some serious HOT chemistry. I felt Tatiana's overwhelming vulnerability and Zan's need to protect her and keep her safe. Their story is short but I didn't feel like I was missing anything as their relationship unfolded and the way they found their way to each other.

As always I'm extremely greedy and I can never get enough of Lex and Dallas. Lex is definitely one of my favorite book heroines. She is both protective and cares about those around her but she's also the ultimate kick ass queen. The women in the O'Kane family really are the glue that holds this family together and can hold their own against any man as we get to see once again in this novella. I think Tatiana is going to be a great addition to this family.

If you are a fan of this series this is great novella to keep you satisfied until Jared's story is released.

I LOVED IT!! ******POSSIBLE SPOILERS******

I loved Zan's character and I totally dig the fact that we not only learn more about him as a person, but that he is exactly how I imagined him to be - strong, silent but observant and very attentive even when one may think he isn't! He gave Tatiana exactly what she needed for her to be her with no ties so that she knew it wasn't about being in their debt or for them to hold it over her head.

I loved Tatiana as well and she was strong and fiery and she may not believe it now, but she totally fits right in with the O'Kane women! Oh and about that throw-down in her shop OOOHHHWWWEEEEEE. LOVED IT!!! The O'Kane women are just as strong and independent as the men and they always have each others backs!

As for the party on the roof....that was awesome to see especially because it was a different kind of party and although these people love to live wild and free, they also have other sides to them that most don't get to see often. So thank you for the peek!

Towards the end of the book, yall had me blinking like a tweaker (lol) because I don't do misty-eyed and it was oh so sweet and I kept saying to my tablet, "Give him a chance Tatiana and believe!" And what the hell does she do...BAM! She done shocked the hell outta me too!!! So damn awesome!!! Great way to end it too...until next time that is! ;)

Thank you Bree and Donna for another kick ass story and please continue to Rock Our World!! O'Kanes 4 Life!!!

The Beyond Series is one of the few I always make time for. Each character, each story is dangerous, exciting and sexy. And emotionally fulfilling. I love that the authors work so hard to give the readers what we want, which is more. That's why the Beyond novellas work so well. We get slices of life in Sector Four, pieces that work to enhance the overall series, and fulfills our need for more.

In that regard, Beyond Possession is perfect. Tatiana Stone is the daughter of the former sector leader. Through her we get a deeper feel for life before Dallas O'Kane, and what it's like to navigate life in Sector Four when you're not held in high regard. BP was definitely her story. Zan shares a POV, but his felt limited. Tatiana's is much more powerful, and that's fine. She has a good story to tell.

While I liked Beyond Possession quite a lot, it did feel rushed. I get that it's a novella, but those previous felt more fleshed out, for me. I highly recommend others to not jump into the series mid-stream. There's a lot of background and set-up in previous books that's necessary to "get" this story. Regardless, it was a fast, engaging read.

As always, Kit Rocha has delivered their unique, no-holds-barred style. Their stories are smart, sexy, wicked, and dangerous fun.

I love Kit Rocha's books and was really excited about this one, but it fell a little short for me. It felt like they went from friendly hello's to being all over each other in an instant. It was a little too rushed for my liking. Then again, it can't be easy when it's meant to be a novella...

Loved seeing the other characters though! Really enjoyed reading about The O'Kane women. They didn't need their men protecting them in this book. They were able to handle things on their own.

Six, Emma and Lex kicked ass. Six and Bren are my favourite so getting glimpses of them and seeing how well Six is fitting in was great!

3.5 stars

Finally back in Sector Four and the Beyond series. I really love all the novella books in the Beyond series, there are in no means any less tame than the full novel stories, they are just as good and in some ways I think there better because Kit Rocha still fills them full of all the goodness that's in all the novels in less than 200 pages!

Beyond Possession gives us Tatiana and Zan's story which I seriously liked! There's so much more to both of these characters that we haven't been able to see before and I liked that we got there story and that they went so well together.

Tatiana runs a store in Sector Four and she's a former princess of Sector Four as her Father used to run it before Dallas started a rebellion and took Sector Four from him. As Tatiana has stayed in Sector Four it puts her in a precarious position because those there are those still loyal to her Father (even though he's dead) and really hate Dallas and then there are those who are loyal to Dallas and Tatiana constantly feels she's walking a tight rope trying to fit in between the two when really all she wants to to sell her wares, make enough money so her and her sister can survive and not get involved.

Tatiana has done well enough at this point to not take sides, but now the tides have turned and she has to choose and well Zan helps her make that decision much easier for her.

I liked Zan, he's a great character. You didn't see much of him in Beyond Addiction other than him getting hurt really and recovering. Now he's practically recovered and feels like he failed Dallas by not keeping Trix safe and will do anything to make up for that and prove how loyal he really is. This is my one and only problem with Beyond Possession because while Zen sort of offers this up to Dallas he doesn't really mean it because Zen puts Tatiana first and therefore him saying that to Dallas annoys me because Zen's been hot for Tatiana for a year and has been mildly flirting with her for most of that time. Yes I get that while Dallas is giving him the go head that he needs to push Tatiana in their direction Dallas doesn't say he wants Zen to seduce her or use her. But Zan offers because he wants Tatiana anyway he can get her. It still annoys me.

Tatiana is a really great character she's been through so much and lost so much it's really changed her but she's now in a place where she knows and likes who she is. She'll do anything not to loose her independence and who she's become but her sister's rash choices are hurting Tatiana too but her sister doesn't see that.

Overall, I really liked Beyond Possession it was really great to get more on Tatiana and Zen and to have them together, but I really didn't like Tatiana's sister and hope now she's been taken in by the people of Sector Four they toughen her up and she realises what Tatiana did for her and how she looked after and sheltered her because man was she annoying and she wasn't in it very much.

Looking forward to getting more from Sector Four in 2015!

First line: "The monthly meeting for Sector Four's merchants was going about as well as Tatiana expected, which was a bad sign.

Kit Rocha continues to build out the Beyond world through novellas. However, the latest release Beyond Possession does more than give us a peek into the functions of Sector 4. It instead gives us a glimpse into what the sector may have been like before Dallas O’Kane took over.

The heroine of Beyond Possession is Tatiana, the daughter of the former sector leader. She runs a soap shop and generally keeps her head down. There are plenty of people who remember her father’s ruthless ways. Some want to punish her for it, others want to leverage her (and her sister) as tools in kickstarting a rebellion. She, however, would really prefer to be left alone altogether.

Zan has been keeping an eye on the crafters for some time. He has particular interest in Tatiana, though, and it isn’t about the rebellion. She isn’t in the mood to open up to him, but the closer they get the more she has to fight to keep those walls erected.

While Zan is certainly an alpha, he’s adept at reading what Tatiana needs. If that means she needs space or control, he provides it. If she needs to let go, he’s there for that, too.

Beyond Possession is a quick read with right amount of backstory and dirty to sate O’Kane fans. If you need an alpha hero who can let his lady take the lead, this one is for you.

This is just the perfect little treat if you like Kit Rocha's Beyond series. I haven't read all of the previous books yet, but I didn't need to in order to enjoy this.

Tatiana and Zan's story was steamy and sweet! I liked how independent Tatiana was and how Zan let her be, even though he's so alpha. That's how much he cared for her! He let her figure things out for herself and was so patient with her.

I definitely plan go go back and read the books I skipped and any future Beyond books. The world depicted in these books is gritty, original, and erotic.

Someone is trying to spread discontent among Sector Four´s craftsmen.
Zan´s got a feeling he knows who´s the starter of it all, and goes to Tatiana for help with handling this. Wanting her since a long while, he can´t wait to make a move, but will Tatiana finally give in to her feelings?
Quick read, smutty fluff and gritty action in a great combo as always =)

I hope everyone’s ready for a little O’Kane time.

You are. You know you are.

Have I mentioned that I love these novellas that Kit Rocha has been releasing lately in between the full length novels? No? Well, I do. I love these quick, easy reads that take me back into Sector Four and remind me why I adore this series. Beyond Possession is book 5.5 and tells the story of Zan and Tatiana.

Just in case you happen to be wondering exactly who Zan and Tatiana are… Zan is the man who was injured in the last book when Trix was kidnapped and Tatiana is the daughter of the man who Dallas had to kill in order to win control of Sector Four. Tatiana is living on the edge, one day at a time, and everything she does is to keep her shop and her sister safe. Ever since the death of her father she’s been in the precarious position of maintaining her loyalty to Dallas, while at the same time not rocking he boat too much with the people who still remember her father’s cruelties. Her life only gets that much more difficult when her sister falls for a man who wants to start a revolution within the sector. Zan is eager to prove himself again after what the considers a major failure. He’s more than willing to help when Dallas asks him to go into the market area and stop the rebellion that’s brewing. Especially if it involves Tatiana.

Tatiana is understandably afraid of losing her independence and sense of self by getting involved with a man from the O’Kane family. Everyone has heard stories of the wild and free parties they frequently indulge in and she’s not interested in having to move out of her comfort zone to be accepted by either Zan or the O’Kanes. But Zan tempts her. He’s always tempted her. After things come to a head she has to confront her fears and figure out if he can accept her and not try to take over her life.

I think this is my favorite of the novellas so far. Kit Rocha takes readers into the underbelly of Sector Four and gives them glimpses of just how tentative a tightrope Dallas balances on everyday. While most of the full length novels deal with what’s going on outside of Dallas and Lex’s little kingdom, Beyond Possession reminds readers that every day is a battle to stay on top. There are enemies at every turn and always someone wanting to come in and topple Dallas from his position of power.

While not quite as freaky dirty as the others in the series, Zan and Tatiana do have a smoking hot affair that left me very happy with their connection. Tatiana is alternately strong and vulnerable and Zan is the perfect partner for her. I had the thought while reading that it’s odd that I love this series so hard when the prevalence of sex scenes is something that bothers me in other books. I think it has something with the world-building, or maybe how each couple’s issues are represented by and ultimately resolved through how they connect with each other in the bedroom.

All in all, I think fans of this series will be very happy with this installment. I know I was. Final Grade- B

Favorite Quote:

“How many times could I forgive you,” he echoed softly. “A million. Every day. The same thing you’d have to do for me. That’s what it is, Tatiana. Loving someone.”

Ok this is a review for the latest novella in the Beyond series written by a very talented duo . If you haven't read these books yet then please do so and start with Beyond Shame but fans of the series will be clamouring to get their hands on this book. It's a very bleak world that these authors give us but even in darkness a little light can shine through. I have enjoyed this series but there's a story arc flowing through that is just building to what I fear will be an explosive conclusion. The O'Kane gang run sector 4 but there's so much back stabbing in this harsh reality that it's hard to know just who to trust. Tatiana and her sister had a privileged life until their despot of a father finally got taken down by Dallas O'Kane and now sector 4 is strictly O'Kane property. It's simple really show loyalty to Dallas and in return he and his "family "will offer protection . Tatiana knows that many still don't trust her and has struggled to eke out an existence but through hard work somehow she has so far survived. Now though times are getting tricky as her naive sister has fallen for the dubious charms of the one man who is trying to take over sector 4. Tatiana struggles to keep her head down and not rock the boat but Dallas sees far more than she realises and has a very cunning plan!
Zan has followed the O'Kanes and will do everything he can to help preserve the lives of his fellow gang members. He has had his eye on the fiercely independent Tatiana for quite some time but he has fought hard not to rush things. Now Dallas wants him to get close to Tatiana and as much as he wants to he is reluctant to shatter her fragile trust. Tatiana is not immune to the huge tattooed male who sweet talks her but if both she and her sister are to survive Tatiana will have to tread a very cautious path . Zan seems to understand but can she really trust him? Or will she lose everything she values in a bitter showdown?
Ok I have to say this , this story is INTENSE! Make no bones about it this is a seriously good story with a very sexy lead couple. I think that's what you get most from these novellas , a deep connection between the lovers and slightly less of the political machinations . It works extremely well here and I think these two are probably my favourite couple so far. I thought there was more of an intense romance between Tatiana and Zan then some of the other books and as I'm not a huge fan of the more "public displays" it was a far more steamy read for me . This is definitely my favourite of the series but I'm beyond curious to see what the authors dream up next. I seldom give a 5 for a short book but this one deserves it!

Note: Though this novella is meant as a stand alone, I feel that the reader will be missing a great deal of information about the dystopian world it is set in. However, those who have read at least one of the Beyond books can read the story at any time.

Tatiana Stone learned growing up as the daughter of the ruthless former leader of Sector Four that it’s best to try to be as small as you can. Those lessons paid off later in life after her father was deposed and Tatiana had to claim a space of her own. She’s managed to carve out an existence for herself as a sector merchant making soaps, salves and oils, and careful not to take any sides with any unrest. Complicating matters is her sister’s relationship with a man from her father’s old guard that is currently stirring things up for the O’Kanes. Tatiana is getting burned out from constant vigilance and lonely because of her position, but one man takes away all of her weariness with his weekly visits.

Zan is still dragging around the guilt from Trix’s kidnapping, never mind that he almost died. His weekly visits to Tatiana’s store were first a matter of O’Kane business but it surpassed that a long time ago. He wants Tatiana fiercely but knows that to push her would effectively end any relationship that might be. Leave it to Dallas and Lex to sense that Zan might need a push and gets him to agree to bring Tatiana into the fold as a means to get to her sister’s man and stop a possible uprising.

Tatiana wants Zan so much but trust is a luxury in her world. Any decision she makes has a larger ripple effect. Zan is just wants to love and protect her but he knows it has to be on her terms. The way he goes about it is terribly sweet and makes you just want to hug the big man. Tatiana’s angst about trusting Zan and her fears for her sister are palpable and leave you really rooting for the both of them to succeed. The sexy times are limited and pretty tame for this series but still bring enough heat.

The O’Kane gang is threaded through the story providing the backbone of their unique family structure. I fall a little bit more in love Dallas and Lex with every book as their partnership continues to mature.

The overall plot was interesting and it’s always a treat to get a peek inside the sectors. Overall, I thought it was a rather sweet interlude for the series. I can’t wait to get to Jared & Lily’s story next!

**I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review***

Tatiana Stone worked hard to get herself known as one of Section 4’s most skilled crafters. What she really wants is peace but her father’s sins continue to haunt her. He ruled the sector as a two-bit tyrant before the O’Kane takeover and TONS of people continue to remember those memories of his cruel actions, especially now that her little sister has gotten with a man who is wanting to start right back up where her father left off and start a huge revolution.

Zan knows all about Tatiana for a long time. He has feelings for her and most likely would never had acted on them but Dallas pretty much told him to get over there and see if he could sway Tatiana to their side to see if with her on their side that would calm down talks of the rebellion. Only issue is, Tatianna doesn’t play Section politics and isn’t going to or willing to after the pain caused by her father before Dallas unseated him and took over. But to get her sister back from the creep who has control over here, she is willing to do anything. Even get with the O’Kanes and back them. She isn’t going to commit to them and she may never, for she finally has her independence and to a point, her freedom but when it comes to Zan, she may give up all for him.

This is a novella and was a great read. It was only about 145 pages so the issue I think I had is everything was crammed into 145 pages. I felt there needed to be about 25-38 more pages to get more of Zan and Tatianna’s story out. I definitely felt for Tatianna. She had a bad upbringing due to her dad but she chose to not let him ruin her and she chose to be a better person in life. Now as for dating, that is different, she did let him control her and let him give her some issues there but that is understandable. I loved Zan-he was such an alpha male yet he knew what his woman needed to make it and he let her. Such a good novella but only issue was the length. More length and this would have been stellar.

This is a series that I've been hooked on since I read book one when it came out in 2012. I love the dystopian world that Kit Rocha has built. The majority of the series focuses on the gang that runs Sector Four, the O'Kanes. In this book, we get to see a glimpse of the lives of people outside of the gang.

If you haven't tried this series yet, it is a world very different from the world we live in today. Electricity is not something that is stable ever since a solar flare took out most of technology. You still have some technology, but it is mostly old stuff that is being rebuilt for use today. There are somethings that are way better for them, medical regeneration, and med gel for healing. Many of the day-to-day items like soap, is made the old fashion ways.

Tatiana Stone is the eldest daughter of the former leader of Sector Four. She has finally gotten herself in a stable and independent place. Her shop is making her enough money to support herself. She walks a tight line, not taking any sides. She doesn't want to update the O'Kanes or the father's still loyal followers, even after his death. Her little sister doesn't see any of this and just wants to go back to being a princess of Sector Four.

Zan is recovering from a bad injury from the early book. He knows that things are unstable in the sector. He knows that he is needed at full strength to make the entire gang safe. He shows his amazing ability to read the needs of others when he sees how much Tatiana needs her independence, especially financially, to feel secure.

This book is extremely hot, it is tame by Sector Four standards. Zan is very alpha. And while Tatiana has a submissive attitude, she is also extremely independent.

I honestly can't get enough of the O'Kanes. They like to act like barbarians for outsiders, but they have a very cunning set of leaders who will stop at nothing to make sure their people are protected.

This time around we have Zan and Tatiana. Zan, who was grievously injured when Trix was kidnapped from Sector Four and feels like he let Dallas down, and Tatiana, who has a whole slew of issues dragging her down. Between the rift with her sister and the fine line she has to walk as the daughter of the former sector leader, she's worn out and fraying around the edges. Yet she keeps pushing forward to do what she has to do.

And she's lonely. So lonely.

One thing I love about this series is how the women are given equal power to the men in the O'Kane world. Zan is smart enough to know that pushing Tatiana will cause her to shut down on him. So he gives her the space to find her own answers. Unless her physical safety is at stake, he lets her call the shots in their relationship. I appreciate that about the O'Kanes. They push when they need to, but they know when it's time to back off.

One thing I love about these novellas is how every one expands the world a little further. This one gave us a peek into the marketplace and how those on the fringes navigate through it. As always, I'm looking forward to plenty more set in this world.

Beyond Delicious!

Oh, the things I love about this series -- the gritty stories, the strong women, the sex so hot I need ice, the heroes that love their women strong...yep, I love it all and I can't get enough.

The O'Kanes are all about family. They help each other, they love each other. And they know how to take out the trash. In this case, the trash is Wallace. He actually thinks he can one up Dallas O'Kane and take the sector. Delusional bastard. And, as a means to that end, he managed to sweet talk Tatiana Stone's little sister into his bed. He figured if he possessed one of the daughters of the previous Sector Four leader, it would give him more credibility with the Sector Four inhabitants. Stupid man.

Meanwhile, Tatiana Stone has long since caught the eye of a certain O'Kane member. Zan likes Tatiana's spirit and her independence and her curves. Though he would happily protect Tatiana from all the evil out there, he loves the fact that she can, actually, take care of herself. He sees her as something other than a possession to be had. And in the universe this story takes place in, that is a fairly rare trait. Not so rare among the O'Kane's, though. Their women are fierce.

This was a fantastic addition to this series! I cannot wait for the next one :) :)

I have devoured the Beyond series as the books and novellas have come out, unable to get enough even though dystopian fiction is generally a big fat NO for me. Maybe because it's just a novella and so there wasn't much time or space for character or plot development, but Beyond Possession didn't work for me. For the first time in the series, I felt like the authors (Kit Rocha is a pseudonym for two women friends who write together) were just phoning it in.

Plot Summary (mostly for my own benefit, because I know I'll have forgotten everything about this utterly forgettable story by next week): There is a rebellion brewing among the crafters and merchants in Sector 4. Tatiana (the gal who owns the fancy soap shop mentioned in previous books) is caught in the middle, because her sister is shacking up with the jackhole leading the rebellion. She could throw her lot in the with O'Kanes, but she can't because... REASONS, so she's trapped between a rock and a hard place. Zan (the guy who got shot in Beyond Denial, or maybe Beyond Pain, I forget) is supposed to secure Tatiana's loyalties for the O'Kanes, because... REASONS, but he doesn't want to manipulate her, or at least let her know she's being manipulated. And they both have the epic horny pants for each other, which is convenient if not especially compelling.
