Death Hunt

Rate this book
Evil has a heartbeat. And it echoes in the bayou.

Breed gets an email from Ellie, a teenager he befriended in the past. The message is simple – she’s in New Orleans and needs help.

She’s not lying. Within minutes of meeting Ellie, Breed is fighting off thugs who are trying to kill her. The reason? Ellie has evidence that her sister, Rowan, has been kidnapped from a children’s shelter.

And it gets worse. Two kids have already been taken from the shelter – both murdered within days of their disappearance in what appear to be Voodoo sacrifices.

As Breed and Ellie race to save Rowan, they find themselves outgunned by a small army of heavily armed gangsters, part of a sinister conspiracy that reaches from the shelter into the corrupt halls of a local hospital.

Following a lead, Breed travels deep into the bayou, where he battles murderous Cajun poachers and finds himself drawn to a beautiful Voodoo princess. Good or evil, she holds the key to the murders…and Breed’s past.

In the stunning climax, Breed and Ellie arrive at a dark plantation house where they face an evil beyond anything Breed has ever encountered.

Death Hunt —Book Eleven in the stunning Breed action thriller series. Perfect for fans of Jason Kasper, Jack Carr, and Lee Child.

Guess what? Breed is called upon to help out with a problem, go figure. Death Hunt by Cameron Curtis bring our mystery man to New Orleans where Ellie from a previous book has reached out to him. Her sister is missing and something strange is going on. I must say that I am fond of this series and Breed is a great character but so is the rest of the people that appears in this series. Although I figured out what the crime behind everything was all about rather early it still was a fun fast paced read and I will recommend it to you all. I must thank Inkubator Books and Netgalley for providing me with this advance copy. It's ready for pre order now.

This is Book 11 of the Breed Thrillers Series, and Cameron has done it again!

I first met Mr Breed in Blood Sport and was utterly blown away (it's actually a book I still think about now) so basically when I see 'Breed Thriller' and 'Cameron Curtis' together then I know I need to jump on it.

I know it's going to be good!

In this book, we see Breed helping a blast from the past in the form of Ellie.

Ellie is in trouble trying to find her sister, and so, of course, Breed jumps in to help.

I absolutely love Breed. He is an incredible character and one that I find I keep loving more and more. He's rough around the edges but with a heart of gold.

It was great to see Ellie back again, as I loved her in Blow Back. This book centres around children, and that was pretty hard hitting at the time, but it is clear Cameron has done lots of research to get the situation right.

I don't want to give too much away with this review as Cameron literally has a roller coaster ride of thrills and shocks, and I don't want to spoil the book for any future readers but what I say is this...

This book is dark, it is gritty, it is twisty and drags and is all consuming as you get dragged into the story.

Recommend to all who love thrillers and military-styled books!

My Thoughts: I love a Breed thriller, I get so excited when I see that there is a new one coming & km going to be bold and say that’s this one might just be my favourite one yet 😍

It had all the action, the blood the gore the violence but without all the army language that normally confuses my poor little brain 🤣

I was so happy to see the reappearance of Ellie, she was a force to be reckoned with in the last book & it was nice to see that although her heart was breaking and she didn’t know what was happening she was still just as fiery!

As always with a Breed novel there are twists, there are obstacles getting in the way of finding out the truth & full of red herrings to keep you guessing throughout!

Read in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed.. I’m already hoping for and looking forward to book 12

11th in the Breed Thriller series but can be read as a standalone story.

It's fast past and suspenseful as Breed works hard to help Ellie and Rowan. You quickly disappear into the story and the momentum helps keep you hooked. Ellie's a strong character and I like her energy. She's had a tough life and fighting back to rebuild. It's sad that she hadn't been able to save her sister the first time it was needed but her refusal to quit ensures she gets to Rowan when she needs to.

Breed is an interesting character too and motivated to do right despite seeming like a vigilante. I think it'd be good to get his history so will go back and pick up the series.

I was fully invested in this from the start, fast paced thriller that doesn’t hold back.
This is book 11 in the series I had no idea how I missed these books and I will be going back to the start to find out all about Breed.
The body count is high the action non stop I would recommend this to any action thriller reader.
I loved Dirk Pitt, Jack Reacher and now it’s Breed, what a great book.
Dark reading material with brutal murders but I loved it!
A great book tour

A book that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. A quick read with a lot of detail. It’s got all the emotion, heart pounding, edge of your seat twists and turns. Along with all the Cajun and voodoo vibes you could ever want. While I’ve not read any of the others in the series I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. I definitely want to read all the others and will be adding this author to my list of must reads!

Death Hunt by Cameron Curtis
A Breed Thriller #11

When Ellie calls asking Breed for help he is there as soon as he can be ~ A debt to be paid to a young woman he thinks of almost as a little sister

What I liked:
* Breed: ex-army Delta Force sniper, requested retirement post traumatic military engagement, strong, strategic thinker, lethal, dependable, protective, intriguing, intelligent, excellent and varied skills, independent contractor, battle-scarred, survivor, attractive to women, someone I would like to have as a friend and definitely would want in my corner if in trouble
* Ellie: brilliant, sixteen-year-old, abusive father, runaway, loving older sister, capable, independent, old soul, calls Breed to assist her in finding her sister who disappeared, protected by Anya Stein
* Anya: assistant CIA Director, intelligent, experienced in field work, strategic thinker, capable, dedicated, sometimes backstop for Breed, intriguing
* Albertine: Cajun, early twenties, priestess of Obeah-voodoo-like religion, strong, uncanny abilities, supportive, attracted to Breed
* Bastien & Remy: Cajun, aligned with Albertine, quiet, deadly, helped Breed a few times
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing ~ I have always wanted to visit New Orleans
* Being able to hate the baddies and wish Karma – or Breed – will deal with them
* Learning more about Breed and wondering if the deal Albertine will help him going forward
* Thinking about Ellie and Rowan and wondering what their future might hold in store for them
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how amoral, evil, cruel, and heartless the bad guys were
* Having to wait for the next book

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC – this is my honest review.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story begins with Breed receiving a message from Ellie asking for help. It seems that Ellie's sister, Rowan has gone missing. Rowan has run away from her home and contacted Ellie. Ellie had made arrangements for her to travel and they would meet up in New Orleans. Ellie had made arrangements for Rowan at a safe way house and was to meet her. She learned that Rowan had gone missing after being there a couple of days. Breed arrives in New Orleans and meets up with Ellie at a coffee house where a group of men attempted to abduct Ellie.

Soon Breed and Ellie started their search and as a result, Breed was attacked a couple of times. With the danger he was facing, he sent Ellie back to F;orida to wait, but as it turned out she retuned back to New Orleans. Breed had figured out where Rowan was being held and made a plan to resscue her. Before he could begin, Ellie came on the scene and Breed had to save her.

To learn why Rowan was taken as well as three other children, who was behind the plot, how Ellie was able to assist him what other people also helped and how it all worked out in the end, then you must read this book, it is well worth your time!

I have really enjoyed all the Breed thrillers and this was no exception. It was great to see Ellie back and working for Breed again. Once again you can expect an action packed thriller, with violence, intrigue and of course a pacy plot. I really enjoy the way Curtis writes and find that the writing really drags you into the story and keeps you engaged. There’s enough military-esque happenings but not so much that it puts you off.

It's hard to go into great detail without spoiling something but if you have read any of the other Breed novels you are bound to love this. While perfect in book format I have to say I think these novels would make a brilliant show or movie series.

As always thank you to Zooloo’s Book Tours for the copy to review. My review is always honest, truthful and freely given.

What a great thrill this was. Breed meets up with Ellie, a young character from an earlier book, to help her try to locate her sister Rowan. As usual, there are lots of people determined to stop them.

There's plenty of action as you'd expect from this series but I loved this even more with the personal aspect between Breed and Ellie, and the reveal of the backstory for Ellie and Rowan is particularly poignant. The links to the voodoo rituals was fascinating and a bit spooky. I really enjoyed how things came to the fore at the end and a very interesting last scene leaves me wondering what lies in store next for Breed.

Another Breed thriller, this time to help 16 yr old Ellie, the homeless girl who helped him in NY in the last book. She has been relocated by the CIA to Florida in a sort of witsec situation and was trying to help younger sister Rowan escape the abusive situation she herself ran from.

Rowan was on a roundabout journey to Fla via New Orleans, in a shelter for young people and disappears. Ellie calls on Breed for help in finding her and this opens a pandora's box of problems.

It wasn't hard to figure what was going on but they were against the clock in rescuing Rowan.

About a 3.75 for me but upgraded to 4 cause it's Breed!

I absolutely love that this is set in New Orleans. The Cajun vibes and voodoo totally add to the thrill. Was completely shocked by one character’s involvement. And of course the ending has me not so patiently waiting for the next Breed adventure. I still need to go back and read books 5-9 as I came into this series at book 9 and recently read the box set of books 1-4 so there are so many questions I need answered. Hopefully I can get to them before the next book comes out.

Another great addition to the “ex-military vagabond who gets pulled into helping the less fortunate and their plight” genre. I have not read any previous books about Breed but I did not find I was lacking information. It is a fast paced, action packed novel that had me hooked by the first chapter. There are some detailed scenes of brutal violence that may disturb sensitive readers. Adding this author to my auto-click list!

I received a free copy from Booksprout. This is my unbiased review.

I really enjoyed reading Death Hunt by Cameron Curtis. This is the eleventh book in the series, but the first one I have read. I am looking forward to going back and reading the first ten in the series. Death Hunt will bring you on a twisted wild roller coaster. This book had everything you want in a great thriller.

in New Orleans, there are universes of different worlds filled with unique and exceptional possibilities - and not all of them are filled with things good and light

elements that tear at hearts, self and essential family shift perspectives fundamentally.

whatever happens next, things won't be the same - assuming those near and dear, and Breed himself, survive to try the circumstances

intense drama and susithat holds you until the end, them has you reading once more.

If you like your thrillers gritty, gripping, and tinged with the supernatural, Death Hunt is a pulse-pounding ride you won’t want to miss. Cameron Curtis delivers another explosive installment in the Breed series, plunging readers into the shadowy depths of the Louisiana bayou, where danger lurks around every cypress tree.

This is the 11th book in the Breed series. It is a fast paced action thriller with detailed weaponry and brutal violence. It is set in New Orleans and the city figures prominently in the story. Not for the faint of heart but if this style of thriller appeals to you it is strongly recommended.

I had this book devoured in a day it's unpredictable and so freaking action-packed. This is my favorite Breed thriller so far and that's saying something cause I've enjoyed every Breed book I've read and that's many. I'm going to end my review here or else I'll spill the beans and ruin it for everyone, but the voodoo topped it off for me.

I'm so glad to see the 11th book in the Breed series. I knew before I even read it that it would be amazing. In this book, Breed meets up with Ellie (from a previous book) to help Ellie find her sister Rowan. This book has the same action and suspense as the previous books and includes great characters, a telling backstory and voodoo. Can't wait for the next one!

Breed at his best!

Great read. I had to force myself to stop reading to go to sleep. The plot was creepy but well put together. I look forward to finding out about the message of the boy needs you…I bet it’s Breed’s son. Keep Breed books coming. Only Jack Reacher books can best Breed.

As usual, a fast and entertaining action novel with great characters. There are, unfortunately, quite a few strange details, like how a "hero" takes a lot of time off for "leisure" when a young girl is being abused.

Ellie is in trouble. Who do you call?

Ellie is in over her head, her sister is missing & she needs Breed's help.
Breed gets her call & drops everything to assist, no matter what she needs.

Very intriguing . I loved this story. Sadly, it could be true to life. It still ended well with some evil people taken care of and out of commission. Will look at other book by this writer.

This being the last published book in this series so far, it wasn't the best but close(4.5).
A large part should be renamed the Ellie story with appearance by Breed.
A little long in the tooth during the middle part but picked up quickly.
