Many of us have experienced phenomena we can’t explain by conventional means. Here Gabby Benson takes a common-sense look at what has remained hidden for too long, unexplored and mysterious: the world of ghosts.
-Investigate different types of ghosts. -Read about ghost hunting and Ouija boards. -Look at cultural and scientific aspects of the life after death. -Discover ways or preparing for and coping with a ghost encounter.
Simple exercises will help you increase your psychic powers and guide you in your own exploration of the world of ghosts.
Gabby Benson's 'Beginners Guide' is an excellent introductory essay on the somewhat wide ranging list of phenomena most often collectively labeled as "ghosts." It's not a long book, but it is very, very well written, and more than adequately researched overall.
Yes, to some degree, Ms. Benson strays into what looks suspiciously like late 20th and early 21st century spiritualism (as it was called in the 19th and early 20th century), in the later portion of her paranormal study, but that really does sometimes come with the characteristically spooky territory.
Either way, she pulls that part off pretty darned well, too. And surely, the author does a much better than average job of presenting the various aspects of the field of paranormal study in a well thought out, level headed and very concise manner. I for one would love to read more from this particular author.
To summarize, if you want a brief, but highly informative primer/reference book on paranormal phenomena, that won't take too much time to read and re-read all over again, this is the volume for you. A very impressive little book, to be sure.
