I've been writing since I was 5 years old. I've always had to set it aside and try to concentrate on so-called 'real life' though. I've had a number of interesting careers - engineer, real estate sales agent, owner of an electrical goods store, silversmith - but finally the time has come for me to return to my first love. Writing.
I've always loved the works of Jane Austen, so perhaps it's fitting that my first published work should be a variation on the much beloved Pride And Prejudice.

I wish this was a series. It took until the like 20 minutes for them to admit their feelings for each other. I need more, even if this book was one of the slowest books I've ever read
A very good story. The hero of the tale really picked the wrong time to visit his ward because it will not turn out to be what he expected. Our heroine Persephone has plans for her future and going to London is not one of them. On the spur of the moment she does something a bit wrong but the aftermath will not be what she expects. Interesting story with great characters it is also a quick read so great for a seat down in the afternoon. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
An amusing and entertaining romance, I found the kidnapping of the unfortunate Lord Blaymire ingenious. Miss Persephone Patton has her own ideas regarding her future, but it would seem that the imperious Lord Blaymire has other ideas. When she refuses to answer his summonses to remove herself to London, he comes in person to haul her back to the city if necessary. However, Samuel discovers that if he thought his mother was an immovable force, Miss Patton is even more so. Waking up the morning after his arrival at Kyneton Tower, Samuel has difficulty working out how he came to be locked in a tower with only the barest of necessities. All Persephone has to do is to keep his lordship ensconced in the tower until her birthday, and then she is more than willing to send someone to free him. I did enjoy reading about these characters and the friendship that was built between them through a locked door, bringing about a change of perspective for both of them. Not to be outwitted, Lady Blaymire refuses to believe the hogwash delivered to her, and before they realize it, she too arrives on the scene looking for her errant son, bringing much consternation and upsetting all of Persephone's well-laid plans. Fortunately, the novel does come to a sweet conclusion and even Lady Blaymire is satisfied. I received a copy of this well-written and romantic novel through BookSprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Miss Persephone Patton has lost all the relatives she loved. She lives isolated in Kyneton Tower, trying to ignore the repeated letters sent by her guardian, Samuel Mather-Curtin, Lord Blaymire, summoning her to London. She does not wish to marry and will receive five thousand pounds on her twenty-fifth birthday and will go to America. Lord Blaymire decides to personally go to Kyneton Tower. Miss Persephone, afraid of going to London and being forced to marry, impulsively imprisons her guardian until the necessary weeks have passed until her birthday, when she will have her independence. After many days, Miss Patton's plan goes awry in different ways and she is forced to release him. They both then go to London and with Persephone's birthday, she's going to decide her fate. Sweet story, easy to read, holding the reader's attention until the end.
A lovely clean romance that started in a most unusual way. I liked Persephone. She was an honest, down-to-earth character. Desperate for her twenty-fifth birthday when her guardian Samuel interrupted her plans. Samuel was at first a thoughtless typical ton minded man. He felt every young lady ought to be married. After a while Samuel realized he never asked Persephone what she wanted for her future. That is the point in which their relationship took a little turn to everyone's satisfaction. A sweet clean story. I feel it went by too quick. It would have been nice to really get to know Persephone and Samuel.

Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read Entertaining Funny Happily Ever After Romantic Whimsical Wonderful characters
What an absolutely glorious little story! It really goes to show, just how much story can be crammed into a short story when the author knows what they're doing. Loved absolutely EVERYTHING about this book! The premise, the humour, the side characters, the main characters (swoon) and of course, the beautiful writing. What an absolute treat! And to think, all because there's a shortage of stories out there where the heroine kidnaps the hero! Hahaha. HIGHLY recommend this read. It's heart warming, beautifully descriptive, clean but not I a way that you are in the least bit wanting. Just a marvellous departure from reality. Gosh I adore this author!.

I found this book on YouTube for free (the whole book under 3 hours). The narrator is the author herself, what I found plessant. She has a great reading voice. The story is very short, nothing special, but the author does write a whole (wholesome) story in that little time. It's a bit more tell than show, but that didn't annoy me and it is obvious why the author chose this style of writing (short-story).
The charactors are cute, they have personallities (what cannot be said for quite a lot of regular-sided bookcharactors), and it's believable. Despite the title (kidnapping) the lovestory is not toxic and nice.
So overall a sweet little story, what I find is just what I needed right now.
I wouldn’t recommend reading it, if what you are looking for is historical accuracy and character depth. However, if you’re just looking for a super quick read to help pass the time, it will do okay. The story was far fetched and felt rushed, but was easy to read. It read more like a short story, rather than a novel. This makes sense, since it was originally part of an anthology. It’s fine for what it is, but I personally don’t think I would read it again. I liked the characters and wish I could have gotten to know them a little better, but I understand it was meant to be a shorter story. It’s hard for me to feel connected to the characters in such short a time. Guess I just personally prefer full length novels. Not a bad read though.
How can a kidnapped Lord forgive his kidnapper and go out of his way to help his kidnapper? That's what has happened but he also realizes he fell in love with her, but how to tell her so. He doesn't tell her in so many words but he shows her.

This is a warm and witty tale of a woman who wants to decide her own way in life. Lord Blaymire learns that you can’t decide how everyone should live and disregard the person’s wishes for their own life. Love takes a life of its own in this reverse Rapunzel tale. Fortunately, the witch in this tale may just be their fairy godmother.
A regency romance, with a twist. It’s not often that I come across a title where the kidnapped is the male leading character, so I was intrigued, the story is interesting and the ending is nice. With such a plot, there could’ve been more, more events, more twists, but in the end it was a good story.
This was a cute little book, that was honestly very lovely. I'm a sucker for historical romance and this book really hit the mark. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is an enjoyable tale of a young woman who would force a new future of her own choosing. She decided to keep the lord of the manner locked away in hopes of seeing to her new life without his interference. But
Lord Blaymire arrives at Persephone Patten's doorstep to remove her to London immediately. His refusal to abide by her wishes propels Persephone into drastic action.
Very sweet, little to no angst, and it reminded me of "Faros Daughter" in the way that Persephone's first instinct in to lock Lord Blaymie up in a tower :)
Kidnapping Lord Blaymire is a typical romance novella: a digestible, sweet, Rapunzel-like love story. Kind of. The audiobook narrated by Catherine Bilson is quite nice, I listened to it while I was cooking. Do not expect strong world-building, marvelous character development, a crazy plot twist, or a spicy romance (if that's what you're looking for, Lynsay Sands is the hot Scottish sister of this English Regency romance lol). It's a cutesy love story to read on a windy autumn afternoon (but not exactly memorable).
When you drive someone into a corner, they will either comply with your wishes … or do something unexpected. The hero didn’t expect nor suspect anything. And that’s the beginning of a lovely, funny and sweet love story.

A thoroughly lovely sweet romance that is well worth a read I thoroughly enjoyed it, this is the first book I have read from this author but I know I’m going to have a look at her other books.
