April Fool’s Day is supposed to be filled with harmless pranks and laughter. But in the town of Strickfield, it’s a day of blood-soaked terror. For the last six years, a ruthless killer has struck on April 1st—one victim per year, their deaths as gruesome as they are unsolved.
Ashley Gable has already lost her boyfriend and her sister to the infamous April Fool’s Day Killer. Now, one year later, she’s the next target. A chilling message left in her locker “You’re going to die tonight, Ashley!”
As night falls, the body count rises, and a detective with a taste for the supernatural arrives in Strickfield, determined to crack the case before another victim falls. But in a town where secrets fester and the past refuses to stay buried, can the killer be stopped before the clock strikes midnight? Or will Ashley’s name be the next added to the town’s bloodstained history?
🔴 Perfect for fans of slasher horror, psychological thrillers, and dark mysteries.
🔴 If you love stories like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, or Urban Legend, this one’s for you!
A decent short read in the vein of Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer. It’s the type of book you just have to read and go along with, without thinking too much or asking too many questions or it all falls apart pretty quickly. There’s damning plot holes (the school remains open for play practice after a gruesome bathroom murder??? Come on!) and another annoyance is the constant use of “smartphone”…I mean it’s 2025, everyone has a smartphone, you don’t need to constantly say it! After about 50 times of reading it, it gets quite tiresome. And another annoyance is the detective constant referring to herself as “sexy hot mama!”. It’s ridiculous!
Again, a decent read if you like the teen slashers of 25+ years ago, you might enjoy this one, just don’t expect much depth or development of character and be ready to accept plot holes and completely unrealistic developments with the plot.
The story line was really good, it definitely kept you going and wanting to read more to know who the killer was. The cast of characters was pretty wide range and easy to follow. (A couple of those names tho really kept tripping me up). Over all I highly enjoyed this quick simple and scary read
The only factor that got really annoying was how often the characters last times were mentioned even toward the very end, their was also quite a few typos and wording mistakes.
