Witchcraft: Beginners guide to witchcraft

Rate this book
Far from medieval superstition or fairy story, witchcraft or wicca is real, alive and growing. It is a religion of Nature-worship that exalts the feminine, encourages individually and delight in celebration – and yes, it is also about magic, for magic itself is a natural force.

If you are attracted to the magical and mystical, if you have ever been alone in the countryside yet felt you were not alone – or if you are simply curious about natural forces, this is the book for you.

Wicca or Witchcraft has much to offer if you practice it sincerely. It is remarkably ancient, but its message is deeply meaningful today as we realise how far we have become estranged from our roots.

I'm not Wiccan and am not interested in getting into witchcraft, which I know, why would I read a book on it? Back when I was about 13-14 I read a bunch of Silver Ravenwolf (don't hate me, I know she is a hot topic for some) and was interested in Wicca. Over the years I've heard a lot of negative things about Silver's books and how its just fluff, so when I saw this book I thought it would be interesting to refresh my knowledge and compare it to what I learned years ago and how much it differed. I thought it was a well written and informative book great for people who want to know more about Wicca.

This was a great book. Even though it was a quick read it was very informative and well thought out. I liked how she set up the book into questions than answered them. The questions were questions that someone starting out in the Craft would easily ask. I liked how she put her own personal touch to the answers yet leaving room for people to do their own thing. I learned quite a bit but now want to learn more which I think is one of the things the writer of this book intended.

Interesting. Contains some historical information in an easy to understand format. While not a "how To" book it covers the rudimentary steps for meditation and goes on to give you guided excercises in meditation.
It takes about an hour to read this book but a lot longer if you wish to study it.
