Omg I love this series
Omg this series has been so good. I’m so invested in everybody’s story. I am glad that Bari is getting what she needs because she was stressing me out. Now I have to hurry to book 3 because I got to know what’s next!!!!!

Tuff and Bari got some nerve. It's crazy how the main ones you think are for you are secretly against you. Rain proved that to be true but I feel there's still something missing concerning that whole situation. Like what is it that she truly has against Qui? I don't like RaRa or Hennessey because they're both playing games and underestimating Gu. RaRa needs a good ass cutting and I wish her friend would tell what she did. Bari is hot in the ass and it's messed up she's willing to lie to Pete in order to avoid the reaction if her secret gets out. Honestly I thought Qui responded the way she did to Bari because she knew who she was messing with. I never expected that ending but I hope Gu show his sister and trifling homie what's to come for throwing a curveball his way. Monica ain't never gonna have nothing and she's not any good for what she's doing behind Beans back. I'm ready for the foolishness that will brew in part 2.

Again, an easy 5 star review. I thoroughly enjoyed part 2. There were themes of forgiveness and redemption. I was caught off guard with Rain and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I loved how Qui and Gu's relationship was tested. I don't know how Qui did it! I was proud of Bari. I'm glad it all worked out for her in the end. The ending was so beautiful I was nearly in tears. I loved how their grandma kept praying for them. I loved the theme of family and loyalty. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I'm curious to see what will happen in the next book. There's tons of drama to keep you entertained!!

This book was a continuation of the first and although I found myself rolling my eyes, at the character’s and how the book was all over the place. I can say I enjoyed it somewhat. My low score comes from the fact the story just completely disregarded who I thought was the main character “Gu” and “Qui” it’s like after the first book they became side characters. The ending doesn’t even wrap up their story. Qui family problems which seem to be very entertaining and worth me reading the book because water down and honestly not even needed. Like if the author took out that her sister was trying to hurt here and she lost her memory when she was younger it wouldn’t have matter. I just feel like if we opened the door to such a complex story it should have been developed a lot better. None of the characters will stick me with. For the book to be such a short read it too long to finish cause it was so disintegrating after a while. I believe there is a part 3 but I’ll pass.

Speechless
I'm at loss of words. Shalaine did not disappoint. I was captivated from beginning to end. Messiah(GU) is that dude he stands up for the people he care about including Bari, Winter, Sue, and Que. I don't know what to say concerning Bari she seriously shocked the hell out of me by the things she do. Qui, is more than with meets the eye beauty and brains yet a past she rarely remembered. This book shows you that family isn't always there for you. They'll be the ones trying to put you in the ground. Friends can easily turn to foes. As well as women do scandalous things to secure the bag. With a strong foundation you'll stand tall during it all.

Yessss Gu!!!
Gu!!!!!!!! Gu is the man. I mean where can I find him at forreal? Man this book was crazy bananas. The secrets, the betrayal, the suspense. I loved it. It was all types of tom foolery going on! It's like everybody is out for everybody! And no even knows it! I mean way to keep me on my toes! That ending had me floored. I totally didn't see any of that coming! Let us pray because there's about to be some slow singing and flower bringing! Just look at the flowers!

I was glad Bari was getting the help she needed. Tuff had manipulated her young mind to the point she thought the relationship she has with that man was normal. However Pete finding out the baby she was pregnant with wasn't his was also the moment Bari mother Sue, aunt Becka and her grandmother learned the truth. I lost all respect for Sue. She disgusted the hell out of me. Instead of being a mother and consoling her daughter. She jumped on Bari knowing she was pregnant while also blaming her for a grown ass man who was supposed to be her stepfather was actually screwing the child and got her pregnant. Sue should've been mad at herself. She was never really there for Bari and Gu emotionally. Bari was a young woman who needed her mother guidance. Had Sue been there. Tuff wouldn't have had the opportunity to sexually molest Bari but of course Sue chose not to believe her man was a damn pedophile. Monica was trifling and Cortez was a snake. I knew Beans wasn't going to let their betrayal go. However Bean found out some information about Cortez that messed his mind all the way up. Monica should've left town and kept her hoe ass mouth shut but she chose to be a snitch. Rain was a lost cause. Her jealousy towards Turquoise was ridiculous. Even when their parents told them the truth. Rain still tried to blame Turquoise for her own screwed up and jealous behavior. I wasn't too surprised when Rain admitted to what she did to her deceased boyfriend. It just showed how crazy with jealousy the heffa was. Turquoise really is a sweetheart with a genuine heart. I'm glad she had Gu in her corner and her best friend Hulk. Hulk was hilarious. Turquoise was over her family drama and was focusing on finishing school but when Hennessy bitter, messy, and jealous ass came to Gu apartment and yelled out he had a baby on the way. Hennessy threw a damn fit when Rara approached her about her pregnancy and it landed Hennessy in jail. I thought Turquoise was about to leave Gu ass. Rara was celebrating having Gu baby once them results came back but she was scared straight after admitting to him how she got pregnant. Rara thought telling Gu she was having a boy was going to make him leave Turquoise and be a family with her but she was brought back to reality real quick. Gu didn't trust her, didn't want to be with her, and really didn't want anything to do with her after she pulled that desperate bs but he was definitely going to take care of his son. Rara and Swain know they were wrong for betrayal Tricia. Rara scandalous way's lead to a devastating ending that broke Gu down.

You will be on the edge of your seat cussing with all the mess and drama that's in this book I was pulled in from the first page. This book was a real page turner. There was so much drama my head was spinning it was thoroughly entertaining and sad. Glad Bari got the help she needed. Pete was a sold dude and glad everything happened the way it did. Then best friends get they own story two and it’s looking up for the youngest of the crew. Sue needs to look at the whole situation because ma’am if you knew why not talk to your baby and or keep your baby away? Now Rai and Qui WTF that wild and I really hurt for their family because what and why? How all these families do not see what the hell is going on and as parents why we not talking to our kids. All mommy’s need to be checked and dealt with. Now move on to damn baby mommas I swear Hennessey and RaRa were hell bent on making a scene and never ended up with what they wanted, and I hurt so bad for Gu because he was a good dude and did right by everyone around him including the baby mommas no matter how raggedy they were. When shit hits the fan everyone was struggling. Beans couldn’t catch a break and Gu made sure to fix his problem but how crazy is it that the two f’ed up people ended up losing they lives quick and fast. Grams needs to beat everyone and pray some more because some still not learning they lesson. The ending yet again made me mad tho.

I was so happy that he read Sue her bill of rights because she plays a part in the mess that her daughter found herself in and she was more angry about the actions of Bari wit Tuff, then she was of the actions of Tuff and what he did to her nephew!!…
I know Beans was struggling when he found out that Cortez was his brother!!!…
My heart fell in my stomach when that chase started and the way it ended!!….I was not expecting MJ part to be so quick!!!!…
Qui was the safest and softest place for Messiah to land and I’m glad she understood the assignment and didn’t just walk away from Messiah!!!…
I loved me some Hulk and all is personality!!!…I love that no one belittled him or judged him for living in his truth!!!..He was definitely a wonderful friend!!!..

I knew Gu was going to snap after it register in his head what Turquoise told him. Gu didn't know the full truth until Bari finally told the truth. It had him in a rage that couldn't be stopped once he found out the real reason Tuff killed Ronnie. Tuff was a pedophile and tried to hide his secrets but it came out. Bari little young ass knows she's wrong for not being honest with Pete. It seems the more Turquoise start to remember about her past. The more of a snake Rain is looking like. I don't feel sorry for what Hennessey did to RARA. RaRa had no business going to that girl house. She was trying to be petty and got her ass whooped. Monica and Cortez is scandalous. Beans know the truth about them now and I don't see anything good coming from it.

Ok...damn it's a roller-coaster
Well there was a lot of unaliving...deserved. there was a sad moment and baby I mean sad. Messiah life was one shit show after another and he was lucky to have Qui in his corner even though he was pushing her away he still loved her and she was really there for him. I still don't trust Hennessey ass...especially after finding that shit out...I mean damn 7 months...*side eye* well Rain did one good deed in the world but it's still very much fuxk her. Sue ass need hella help cause...well she just need help....I Still love Bambi and Hulk is my next fav bestie...both carried as side characters. I love how everything was rapped but considering there is a to be continued...I can't wait💜

Mannnn this was TOOO good! My heart hurt for Gu 😭 I did not expect that to happen at all! But s/o to Qui for being there for him in his hardest moment ❤️ Bari really redeemed herself! She took the time to work through her issues & heal. I was glad when her & Gu finally moved forward. Now Sue… I understand her being hurt but girl your child was ultimately the victim in the situation. I’m not saying Bari was right in the situation at all, but Sue needed to step back and look at the fact that Bari was only 14 & that man was grown as hell. Honestly, I enjoyed this story and the good place it ended in.

Another part??? Hopefully it’s a spinoff because I feel like everything was pretty much wrapped up. Messiah was really that dude. I love how he didn’t play games once he made Qui his girl. He kept his baby mommas in check and this is probably the first book I’ve read in a long time that did that 👏🏾👏🏾 Pete was also a stand up dude. After that mess with Tuft, Bari needed tough love. I’m so glad that all went off to school. I can see a spin off about college or Dallas and Bambi. Well done‼️

Another good one. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve said the author is just throwing so may obstacles at Gu to make the story interesting. But I’ve seen it. I’ve seen ppl take loss after loss back to back. I felt so bad for him. I just want to see him win. I’m still in the fence with Bari’s slow ass. Because yes she was young but ain’t that much naivety that will make me so dumb over a man who killed my blood cousin and I know about it and stay quiet about it. No mf, sleep with one eye open!

Whew!
My chest was tight throughout this entire book! The reason that led to Gu being in that hospital bed…. I had to power off my kindle device for a min. whew… that was tough!!! However, Qui was a real one and held him down… grief is tough..& that type of grief… mannnn! The way the family came together at the end was heartwarming; the growth & accountability was needed on everyone’s part.

The loss of a !over one can take a toll on you and my goodness, Gu has taken him some hits! I love seeing how Gutta &Qui relationship has flourished, just as Pete and Bari! Bamboo done got her a man too! Looking forward to the next book, because everyone should have grown up by now!

Idunno what to say because you just need to read it. I don’t wanna spoil the author’s hard work and dedication to this dope ass story.
