I dont know where to begin but i usually don’t read the cheating trope because of past experiences and it makes me angry. Sarah started as a very strong woman who lost herself and her career because of the lies and manipulation of a man. Her constant comparisons to his ex wife were so exhausting, until i understood she was insecure and wanted to please a man who was filling her with lies. Stories like this happen all the time in real life and choosing yourself is crucial. No man is ever worth your peace and this book is sarah’s journey to choosing herself. Aside from the cheating trope, there were some pop culture references that made me roll my eyes a little because i dont like current things mentioned in books like booktok, instagram, taylor swift and lip fillers but i was able to brush them off and focus on the story in the end.
This could have been a compelling story, young junior editor Sarah looking for a promotion, gets herself involved with the man married to one of the deciding people. It just was too long and redundant at over 400 pages. Sarah was likable. She was a strong woman working her way to the career of her dreams, but gets sidetracked by a man. So many avenues of potential drama and angst wasted, not much happened. Wish there was a more exciting ending, but I did liked the messaging.
This story hit me in a way I didn’t expect. Watching a woman who genuinely loves her job—who shows up every day with passion, drive, and heart—get caught up in a love that slowly chips away at her was heartbreaking. She gave so much of herself, believing in the connection, believing in him, and each time he let her down, I could feel her spirit dimming just a little more.
And then the reveal—that she was the other woman all along—was devastating. It wasn’t just betrayal. It was a complete unraveling of everything she thought she knew, everything she built her hopes around. I felt her pain, her confusion, her sense of being lost in someone else's lie.
But the most powerful part? Watching her climb out of that darkness. Not instantly, not perfectly—but piece by piece. She didn’t let the betrayal define her. She didn’t let the heartbreak destroy her. She took it, faced it, and found her strength on the other side.
By the end, I didn’t just feel sadness—I felt pride. She became someone stronger, someone wiser. And it reminded me that even in the deepest pain, there’s still the potential for healing, growth, and a new beginning.
This story stayed with me—not just because of what she went through, but because of how she rose from it.
If you’re looking for a book that will make you want to keep turning the page, then you’ve found it. I kept waiting for it all to blow up in her face. The suspense kept me turning the pages. It’s spans a year in the life of a junior editor at a publishing house and how she gets caught up in an affair. I was surprised that I started to feel for the main character. I never thought it would also be about self discovery and loved the ending so much.
It took me awhile to get out a huge book slump when I first received this arc. My mood just wouldn't allow me to get into this book so I patiently waited. My mood finally changed to where I read this book so fast that I didn't know my eyes could read that quickly. This story is devastating but along with that there is a huge lesson here. I loved every single piece of this book. This book will definitely be with me for awhile and has put me into another book slump but it was well worth it!
Besides the great storytelling and an entertaining plot, the book has a meaning and a message everyone can benefit from. Through Sarah we can see how changing for someone isn’t what you’re supposed to do. A person that loves you will love you fully just the way you are and you deserve to be cherished and shown off in the world. It shows how easily people can be manipulated and blindsided. Through most of the book I couldn’t decide who was actually the bad guy and it kept me on my toes. The book is incredible and the message is something everyone should hear and know!
Honestly, it took me a moment to get enraptured and I thought maybe the book wasn't for me because of how it was playing out. However, the more I read through the story I came to realise it was very real, and not a glamorous recounting about being the other woman.
Sarah represents someone we all know, and even brings to light the little piece of yourself that you may not realise is there. She goes through the good, bad, and ugly emotions that resonate with you and the struggles make her even more relatable.
I will say if you find disloyalty or cheating is a sensitive topic for you I would not suggest this title.
As the title states, Sarah is the other woman. Sarah is a young eager professional with goals, one of them is becoming Senior Editor at her publishing firm, and the story is messy. Which wasn’t really surprising, and I'm pleased with the rawness and authenticity to the story. If you were hoping for spice with this one though you will not find it. Which is a change for this kind of story. It is focused on the FMC and the experiences she goes through.
Overall, this was not my typical story to read but I enjoyed it, and look forward to more from Devi in the future.

Overall, this book was decent. In the beginning, I enjoyed how much of a girl boss Sarah was. She loved her job and her only priority was becoming senior editor. I didn’t mind that she broke her “no dating” rule for John, but I did mind that she lost herself within him. As her and John’s relationship progressed, she started to become more and more of a shell of herself. Her job was no longer a priority for her, she cared more about becoming a copy of his wife and that sucked to read especially because it was the bulk of the book. Sarah was really annoying when it came to John too because she put him over everything and he was never willing to do the same. Watching Sarah try to turn herself into his wife so that he may love her the same amount or more than her was childish in my opinion, especially because it was a recurring theme. About halfway through the book, I started to give up because it was becoming repetitive and I only finished it to see how it ends. The end was a bit anticlimactic for me especially since Sarah was creating so much stress and trouble in regards to John. I was really looking forward to reading this book, especially because so many people hyped it up but unfortunately, I was let down.

The Other Woman is about Sarah who has sworn off dating until she gets the promotion she desperately wants. Dating is absolutely off her radar until she literally bumps in to John. However, John is married! This book at times made me literally want to throw it down(not that I would) because you want to yell at Sarah. Like come on girlie but when in love we have rose colored glasses on where we choose not to see things as they really are. Loved her best friend Izzy and their friendship. This book really took me on an emotional roller coaster.

I recently finished reading "The Other Women," and I am absolutely thrilled with this book! I have gotten this book as an ARC and I have to say, from the very first page, the tension is palpable; the author expertly weaves a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The intricate wordplay adds another layer of depth, making the dialogue not just engaging but also a pleasure to read. Each character is vividly crafted, bringing their complexities to life in a way that draws you in.
I was completely hooked throughout, unable to put the book down. This story is a fantastic exploration of relationships, secrets, and the lengths people will go to for love and loyalty. If you're looking for a gripping read filled with sharp writing and compelling characters, look no further than "The Other Women." Highly recommended!.

Overall found it to be a compelling and enjoyable read. The storyline was well-structured and easy to follow, making it a quick and satisfying book to get through. The pacing kept me engaged, and most of the characters were written with a good level of realism.
That said, I had a hard time connecting with the Sarah and Jane storyline. While I can attribute some of Sarah’s questionable decisions to her youth, it was difficult to overlook the fact that she knowingly dated a married man. Her role in that dynamic felt somewhat glossed over by the end, making it harder for me to fully root for her character. Still, her repeated belief in John's lies was portrayed in a way that highlighted a realistic, albeit frustrating, emotional cycle.
Another element that took away from the story was the frequent use of cursing, which sometimes watered down otherwise engaging dialogue. It gave the book a more youthful tone, which didn’t always match the weight of the themes being explored.
Despite these drawbacks, this book has strong potential as a movie or TV show — the drama, pacing, and layered relationships would translate well to the screen. If you're looking for an emotionally charged, fast-paced read with believable characters and a few frustrating (but thought-provoking) flaws, this one is worth picking up!.

The Other Woman gets a 4.5/5 ⭐️! Thank you to the author Aria Devi, and #booksprout for this Advanced Copy (ARC). First, let me point out how effortlessly this flowed. Even though I don’t know how the publishing world works, Devi made it so easy to follow along and understand the positions the characters held and their importance. Second, this was so hip and fun [despite some of the events that occurred *incognito warning*!!] When I first dove in, I immediately got vibes from the TV series “Younger” (which I love)! It was witty and the banter was 👌🏼 the drama was great and slowly progressed. I even chuckled at some of her little mentions to the Powerpuff girls and the Incredibles 🤣 (yes I caught those). Sarah our FMC goes through some serious growth from being kind of clueless to inevitably growing up and facing harsh realities. Aided by her BFF Izzy, who is just so … Blair Waldorf with a healthy dose of Serena VanderWoodsen… 😂 this duo had me locked in with their relatability and real interactions. I struggled a little bit with Willow and her personality, she was a little rigid, but I guess that was the point? Jane was definitely the big boss who makes you squirm (think Miranda Priestly - but young and hot). John 🔥…. I kept picturing Gerard Butler circa 2005-2010 but with the bad boy thrown in. Devi hit this one out of the park and I can’t wait to read more from her!! RELEASES: May 27, 2025
I love the way the story captured the range of emotions of the situation, the inner battle of knowing what you're doing is wrong but being so blinded by the feeling of love that you risk everything anyways.

I was super grateful to have received this as an ARC…I really enjoyed this book so much! I absolutely loved the FMC’s character development and how she overcame everything she went through.
Love, heartbreak and growth.
“The choice of a lifetime is about choosing yourself. Even if it feels impossible.”
This book had me HOOKED to say the least. Such a good story line and genuine writing style. I really enjoyed this book. It embodied such raw emotion and hit a soft spot for me. From losing sight of herself to the powerful ending, this entire novel was phenomenal. I couldn’t recommend this book enough. The plot was beautiful and well written, and for lack of better terms, unique. It had such a powerful impacting meaning behind finding herself. The end was a HEA but not the way you’d expect which is why I personally loved the twists.

This book was so frustrating in the best way. Sarah (also my name) LOL is exactly what you expect of someone finding what they believe is a love unlike they ever had. A true first love. Esp what it’s like to build your hopes and dreams around a person and just have the completely destroyed. There is so much drama around John being a married man who is promising her divorce. I saw so much of myself in Sarah. Not even the position that she was in being “the other woman” but that she is just so driven and focused and it took meeting someone special to derail her plans and her focus became him. I feel like that was the most realistic part of love. You can easily get carried away with a person esp when it’s new and unlike something you’ve ever felt before. I enjoyed the writing so much and the ending was very satisfying for me. I could see myself rereading this book if I ever get my heart broken again. This story would’ve resonated so much with my younger self. I cannot wait to see what’s next in store. Thank you for the arc Aria! So kind to reach out to me on TikTok.

I absolutely loved this book and wasn't ready for it to end. I want more of these characters. Where does Sarah go from here? Her roommate? I would be interested in reading a separate book about every one of these characters. They were written so well I felt as though I knew them and I want their stories to continue.
The relationship Sarah finds herself in is relatable and tough. The author did an amazing job bringing the emotion of that kind of relationship to life. It's never cut and dry and always messy. I was with her in emotion through all the ups, downs and twist arounds! Those first flirty moments with someone were also exquisitely written. I found myself smiling, remembering that feeling of a new meet with relationship potential.
The atmosphere of the publishing company also had me captivated. As a reader, it's a side of books we don't typically get to be involved in and being with Sarah everyday was stressful and fascinating at the same time.
I highlighted and took notes throughout the book. Wisdom was sprinkled throughout and I found myself relating to and wanting to remember several passages.
If you like authors like Kristin Hannah, Jennifer Weiner, Elin Hilderbrand and Emily Giffin you will love Aria Devi!
So, so good! Real life! Real emotion! I very much wanted this story to go on and look forward to reading more by Ms. Devi!.

While I am a tragically slow reader, i flew right through this amazing book! I loved envisioning each character and loved the imagery filled with determination, love and perseverance! This definitely needs to be on a screen! I need a sequel stat! The suspense of what was going to happen is a key factor in all books i enjoy! What a great way to keep us turning all 408 pages!.

In Aria Devi’s novel “The Other Woman” the reader is following protagonist Sarah Jones as she is working toward making a name for herself in the publishing world. She is career driven, always holding her mentors advice in high regard. She is working hard at being the top choice for the Senior Editor role at Regent House Publishing. But when she bumps into a handsome man at the Gala event she finds herself falling for him only to soon learn he is married to her boss at work, the women she is most envious of due to her success in the industry.
I am giving this drama romance a five star rating. This novel is not only a story of forbidden love, but it teaches about the importance of friendship and self love. This story will have you questioning characters’ motives and intentions and turning each page hoping Sarah does not throw away everything she has worked so hard for! I thought the pacing, plot, characters, and plight of the story were captivating and authentic. If you are a fan of Devil Wears Parada and Sex and the City you’d love this book!.

This book was pretty easy to fall into because of how fast paced it is. I really appreciate when an author does this. I struggle getting into books if it takes forever for something to happen and there was no time wasted here.
The manipulation that was written about was something that was not very easy for me to get through. It is something I have personally experienced but the scenario was different.
I loved the way Devi writes about the fmc accepting what happened and growing from it. This book has a powerful message that anyone who has experienced this type of manipulation can relate to.

Can’t wait for the next one! Christmas come soon! ❤️💚
This was my first ARC review and am pleasantly surprised with this debut novel! Although somewhat predictable based on title alone, the storyline progressed at an entertaining pace and I enjoyed reading along for the main character’s journey and development. Powerful themes, great dialogue and banter within! Definitely intrigued by and open to more books from Aria Devi
A story about a woman’s drive and ambition to be the best at her job as a junior editor, so driven at the young age of 24 years old while her colleagues and friends hype her up for the potential to land a senior editor job in a prestigious publishing house. All for it to almost crumble in front of her when a man named John Reynolds appears. (Men!)
John is married to Jane, the power couple of the publishing house, and are in the midst of a messy divorce. Sarah was entranced with John by his charm, swagger, good looks and money. He swept her away on trips, lavish vacations, and a promise to settle the divorce finally so they can be together openly. Weeks turned to months and John’s promises of a divorce felt like Sarah was the mistress in the messy situation and all the while, her job was hanging on by a thread.
Jane being her boss, Sarah always felt lesser than Jane and she compared herself to Jane down to stalking her on social media. At the end, Sarah was able to free herself from the unfulfilled promises that John made almost for a year ago and was able to get the title, recognition and job that she sought after even before John was in the picture.
Tropes: Forbidden love, betrayal, found family
As this is Aria Devi’s debut novel, I was really impressed and sucked in by her writing. It was witty, modern, and it flowed from the start to the end seamlessly. There were so many movie references in the story (The Incredibles, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Sex in the City, and The Devil Wears Prada) so I felt connected and could not put down my kindle. This story was gut-wrenching to read because at times I felt that Sarah was making the same mistakes over and over again by believing John and not learning from his past lies but I’m glad she persevered at the end of it showed him the door! (Thank goodness!)
Thank you to the author, Aria Devi & Booksprout, for this advanced reader copy. It was a pleasure to read your debut novel and I will be eagerly awaiting for all of your future novels to come.
The Other Woman starts with all the feels of the TV show Younger. Sarah meets and falls for a high level executive in the PR company she works at. As a junior editor, she's striving for a promotion to become senior editor and is trying to impress her boss at work to mentor her for the position. The catch, her boss, is the wife to the man she just met and is falling for.
When Jane entered the picture, at the beginning it seemed like Sarah wanted to get closer to her so she could learn from another woman who had a similar background, who could mentor her, and was in a position that Sarah strived to work toward. However, it became more than admiration when Sarah started seeing John, Jane's husband. She begins comparing herself to Jane, in her appearance, aspiring to be more like her so she can replace Jane and keep John. This is the attitude of a young woman who is immature and not confident in herself.
This constant need to compare herself to Jane eventually turns into an obsession to become the woman John desires and begins to feel like the book The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. Her paranoia that her secret is going to be revealed consumes her every thought. Though I was annoyed at Sarah's inner monologue and screaming at her that I didn't think it was going to end well for her, I found myself wanting to know what happened.
That being said, I didn't buy into the idea that Jane disliked Sarah or that she knew what was going on, as Sarah thought. So when events happened between them in the book, it felt a little contrived. I was able to predict the plot, and I kept waiting for the shock factor, which didn't happen for me.
I ended up enjoying the book overall but didn't love it and recommend it to those who enjoy reading office romance, taboo romance, forced proximity (with the wife), and romantic suspense.
Thank you to Aria Devi for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
OH MY GOODNESS! "The Other Woman" is Aria Devis' debut novel and I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC; I'm obsessed. Every woman NEEDS to read this book. If you loved "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sex and the City" this novel is it's love child... I don't make the rules here it's what happened lol. For me this book hit all the emotions because I had a sarah in my life. While reading I was happy, sad, giddy, shook, upset, betrayed, confused, all the feels. There's secrets, lies, deception. Who's telling the truth? Can they really all be civil? I don't say this often but one day I hope this becomes a movie! It deserves it's moment on the pages and on the big screen. I definitely wanna recommend this to all my friends and sister.
The FMC sarah is a hard working boss lady and one of the best at what she's does. Sarah was working towards becoming a senior editor in New York City at one of the most respected publishing houses. With the help of her mentors/ besties she was able to remain laser focused ,nothing distracted her until Josh *MMC* walks in and derails her a bit. But is it a good or bad thing? I guess you'll have to read it to find out. Spoiler alert.. it's so worth a read. Oh yea did i mention HE'S MARRIED!!
🌟 Random quote that made me laugh out loud: "Bitch, you texted me!" The amount of times I've said this to a friend jokingly when they asked what I needed is crazy but funny because... ma'am YOU contacted ME!😂
🌟Quotes that stuck with me: "Men with bruised egos do some crazy shit" "Be careful of who you let distract you. The wrong man can ruin more than your career" "My generation also seems to deal with a lot of betrayal, distrust and drama- more than previous generations. I blame social media"
The Other Woman is a story that hits home for so many reasons and is a book that will prove to be relatable to so many women on some level.
In her debut novel, Aria Devi takes a deeply difficult topic and brings it to life on the pages as we watch Sarah maneuver her way through a twisted web. A junior editor in the competitive publishing world, Sarah is filled with motivation and big dreams to make it to the top. She pours herself into her job (how many of us can relate?), focused on the future. Then enters John…good looking, charming, wealthy and…married. A relationship develops and the two must keep it under wraps. With promises to settle his divorce, Sarah keeps holding on despite the toll that it is taking on her career and her life.
The book grapples with the idea of being the “other woman” and the stigma and emotions that go with that. As the other woman, you know you are doing something wrong, but your heart becomes so intertwined that you keep hanging on….hoping. In the end, will Sarah win the man? Or will she be left with a broken heart and a heap of broken promises? This book has it all. Witty banter, internal conflict, love, manipulation and all the emotions! It was easy to read, and the story line flowed so well. With pop culture references, the doors expand to a wider audience making this a book where women of all ages can find a piece of themselves among the pages.
The Other Woman is filled with many messages, including those of strength, resilience, recognizing your self-worth and so much more while taking the reader on a journey inside the mind of a woman caught in an impossibly vulnerable and heartbreaking position.
Thank you to Aria Devi and Booksprout for the ARC of this powerful debut novel. I cannot wait to see what this new and talented author has in store for us next.
If you’re drawn to stories set in the high-powered world of New York City publishing—with a compelling workplace romance, a deeply emotional love triangle, and a twist that will leave your heart in pieces—this book belongs on your radar.
At its core, this novel explores what happens when professional ambition collides with personal vulnerability. Our protagonist is smart, driven, and determined to prove herself in a cutthroat industry. But when she falls for a charismatic colleague, the connection feels electric… until a heartbreaking truth surfaces: he’s married—and not just to anyone, but to someone powerful enough to change everything.
💔 What Worked Beautifully: • The emotional complexity of the love triangle—real, raw, and deeply human • A rich setting that brings the competitive world of publishing to life • Writing that balances sharp dialogue with tender introspection • Themes of betrayal, self-worth, and emotional resilience that linger long after the final page
💬 Overall Impressions: This isn’t just a romance—it’s a story about learning how to choose yourself in the aftermath of betrayal, and how love can both undo and rebuild you. It’s poignant, smart, and quietly devastating in the best way. The author doesn’t shy away from the messiness of human connection, and the result is a heartbreakingly honest portrayal of what it means to fall in love at the wrong time—with the wrong person—and still find your way back to yourself.
🌟 Final Thoughts: This book broke my heart and gently put it back together. It’s a slow-burn, soul-stirring workplace romance that will resonate with anyone who’s ever had to untangle love from loyalty.

The Other Woman is a powerful, raw, intense burst of emotions, love and self healing/resilience that you don't want to miss!
This is going to follow our FMC Sarah and she is a junior editor at a publishing company, trying to make a name for herself and climb the later of success. She'd worked so hard to get where she is an keep her dreams in the front of her mind at all times. The comes along John, who sweeps her off her feet. She becomes enthralled with this man and will be caught in a web of lies, love and lust that will challenge her emotionally beyond what she thought she was capable of.
This is because the love she pulls is webbed with the fact John is marries, and to her boss to boot! Although he claims they are getting divorced, Sarah is going to be faced with the complexity and emotions of being 'the other woman'. She is going to put this love ahead of her dreams as she struggles with betrayals and lies and becoming something, she never wanted.
As she fights through this story, again, she will learn things about herself and discover a power deep inside that will save her from herself.
This story is emotional; it is fun and Whitty but it's a POWERFUL plot that is going to get you thinking and have your heart torn in so many ways through her path of self-love and discovery.
Oh, and if you loved Sex and the City and Devil Wears Prada, you will love this story and it reads like a movie you won't be able to stop reading!
This was a very well-written book, with great character development! Taking in the manipulation, gaslighting, guilt trips, and bids for sympathy for the so-called “innocent” party, it was a painfully realistic portrayal of the relationship between a narcissist and their victims. I was drawn in as Sarah was caught up in the haze of infatuation, carried away by John’s smooth compliments and generous gifts. I ached with her as she experienced confusion, guilt, betrayal, and denial. I lived alongside her as she doubted herself and everyone around her, wondering who to trust, who to believe. I felt the sinking hollowness as she had the dawning realization that her relationship with John was chipping away at her, leaving her just an empty husk of her former self. I felt the glimmer of hope, like a candle in the dark, as she started to focus on herself, rebuilding her drive and confidence. Her inner strength and sense of self solidifying as she realized she didn't need the approval or attention of the man she thought was her world. As a whole, I found the story intriguing, compelling, and a very enjoyable read, despite it unearthing memories of my own experiences growing up with a narcissist.

I absolutely loved this book. You follow Sarah on her journey and it makes you feel like you are watching a movie in your head. Sarah is an independent women working to make it to the top at the publishing company she works for when she starts to get into some chaos. She meets someone and it may be a little more stress than she hoped for when she realizes he has a wife. You follow her as she tries to overcome some barriers and maybe doesn't make the best choices, but is so relatable with her struggles of work life balance and wanting more for yourself. I love the internal dialogue we get from Sarah, I feel like that's how so many of us feel when we go through things and we have anxiety and are trying to decide which direction to go. As someone who has gone through a situation of being the wife this book was so relatable in so many ways and really hit home. It makes you think a lot about how she is feeling and how hard it is to let go of things that you want but aren't good for you, she managed a lot while also trying to advance her career! There is awesome character growth in this book and friendships that you will wish you had in real life! I wish I had an Izzy! So grateful I got to read this early! You will go through a lot of emotions in this book and it will help remind you what you're capable of, at least it did for me.!
