Fabulous! Although shorter, it's just as good as book one, Sandwich, with a Side of Romance. It picks up three years after book one. Cam and Rachel are adorable. Spending more time with Reuben and Maddie was an unexpected bonus. I'm hopeful that there will be more Sandwich books. Recommended.

I loved this book! This is book 2 in the sandwich series (I read this one after book 3, but it could have stood alone). This book grapples with fear of past and redemption from that past. Also, it deals with the subject of abuse. I absolutely loved how Ms. Phillips handled these issues. The romance was great and built through the entire story and was happy with the ending. This is a great read.

Wowzers but Krista Phillips did it again! We read the first book she wrote last year and now she has written a new one, a novella this time that was a fun and quick read!

When I first started I thought it was going to be like a Hallmark movie--you know how it ends, but want to see how they get there--and I was pretty certain I was right on track, until about the last 25 pages. The funny thing is, I started reading this on our trip to the beach, thinking if I stuck with it I could actually finish in on the way down. But other things distracted me and when we arrived I had about 30 minutes of it left to read. (I was reading on my Paperwhite and sometimes its easier to measure it that way!) Now, in the mean time I started another book -- a paperback for the actual beach -- so I didn't pick this one back up that much, only at night when I was falling into bed SOOOO TIRED!! I would read about a page or two, then zonk! I was out. It was really frustrating, but I just could not stay awake! I finally finished it the day we left, while everyone else was working on getting the car packed .... (Don't judge, it was a crazy place we stayed and not as simple as it sounds to load the car!)

Wonderful

Rachel was starting a new job, painting her house, and finding her way. Cameron was dealing with a broken heart and getting set up by a friends wife. Wow they get pushed together to do the Fall Fest for the local youth group. Then Rachel, Maddie's, and Kyle's past come to haunt them.

I adored this delightful novella from Krista Phillips! Her writing is so refreshing and I love her sense of humor. Great spiritual message here, too. Trusting God when we think we know best is never the right solution, for He always wants the best for us. Now, I'm off to read the next 2 in this series.

Thought provoking

Thought provoking story. We all have issues and often believe that God doesn't really understand, even though we may say inspirational words. Everyone is a child of God.

Simple but good

I enjoyed the plot and the story. I laughed and laughed and had to read inserts to my husband. I like longer books and that is why a four instead of five star.

Fun introduction to the series for me. A little to much focus on romance for my taste, but an unexpected turn did catch me off-guard. Pleasant read.

This novella picks up 3 years after ‘Sandwich, with a Side of Romance’ ends. Maddie is playing matchmaker to friends Rachel and Cameron. However Rachel wants nothing to do with Cameron as he reminds her too much of her ex. Through her work Rachel is teamed up with Cam to organize the Fall Festival for the youth and the more time they spend together the more she finds herself drawn to Cam. She continues to fight it but when Cam comes to her rescue during a crisis she realizes he is not like her ex. I found it easy to like both characters and enjoyed their interactions. After having just recently finished the first book in this series, it was great to catch up with Maddie and Rueben, I got a kick out of their part in this story. This story contains suspense along with the romance and shows the importance of having faith and learning to trust God’s plan.

I was given a chance to read A Side of Faith by Krista Phillips. It had been a while since I had read Sandwich, With a Side of Romance the first book in this series. A Side of Faith reintroduced me quite quickly to the characters I loved in Sandwich… while introducing me to a whole new set of friends.

I loved Rachel. She was written with such reality - a person anyone can relate to with her imperfections and gifts equally showing through. I love how she struggled with her decision to give up smoking throughout the book. We all struggle with an addiction of some kind - working, overeating, smoking, drinking, cleaning, exercising, shopping so I think many people could relate to when life gets stressful, we can either choose to give in or we can keep fighting. (Gum is my go-to when I want to eat something and I’m not hungry.)

This book was more than just a romance. While not preachy, it showed how once we invite God into our lives, He takes the good and bad and helps make something beautiful out of it. There was also a touch of suspense that caught me pleasantly by surprise. I loved it - I was expecting comedy and light romance and got that plus a little bit of suspense, mystery - a great read through and through.

This book will appeal to everyone. The suspense isn’t too scary, the romance is just right, and the comedy had me laughing out loud. Mix all that together with the subtle themes of God loving us and it’s a terrific read! The only thing missing? I want to actually taste one of the amazing sandwiches from Reuben’s restaurant!

I loved Phillips' "Sandwich with a Side of Romance," and her complementary novella didn't disappoint! I didn't know what to expect of a novella—never having read one before—but it was just as full of laughs, thrills, deep character developments and fun as I would expect from a longer novel. One thing I love about Phillips' writing, which I find rare in the romance genre, is her timing. There's none of the why-don't-they-just-get-together-already juvenile silliness. The characters and their relationships develop in such real, genuine ways that reading her inspirational stories is purely a delight. There are times when I find my internal dialogue paired with Rachel, the novella's protagonist, as she finds her way in the town of Sandwich. It's relatable. It's truly enjoyable. It's a must-read!

Rachel Carter is happily looking forward to her new life in her new town with her new job and her own house. She is leaving behind her old boyfriend, who was a negative influence in her life. If she ever finds a new boyfriend, she vows she will definitely look for someone totally opposite her old one. Then Cameron Foster knocks on her door. She instantly dislikes him because he reminds her of her ex-boyfriend with his red hair and height. Will Rachel be able to accept Cameron for himself? This romantic novella includes heartwarming characters with some suspense and a side of faith. This book is related to another title by Krista Phillips, SANDWICH, WITH A SIDE OF ROMANCE.

Rachael Carter disliked Cameron Foster the minute she saw him. He reminded Rachael of a past love she tried to forget and caused her to want to spit in his face. This book tells the story of a patient man trying to change a woman’s opinion of him while the woman begins gradually to see that Cameron reminds her less and less of her ex-boyfriend. The characterizations are well done. This is the first book I’ve read in a long time that I didn’t see the ending coming. The ending was a total surprise to me. Enough suspense to keep the reader turning pages.

This was a cute love story with funny moments and heart-warming reminders of how much God loves us, not matter how much we've messed up. A Side of Faith gave me the warm fuzzies that I often get when reminded of how good my God is.

This was my first Krista Phillips book and I enjoyed the sweet romance between Rachel and Cameron. I also loved the biblical lessons that were woven in. This book is about having faith and believing in God's plan for our lives. Sometimes the mind says one thing, but the heart says another. I'm looking forward to going back and reading Krista's first book as well as her next novella.

I thought this was a really fun read. I don't usually love Christian romance as most Christian authors write as if they're worried that small, blushing children might read their work. But the author wrote a story that felt like it was for an adult, and it was written quite well. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and read more from this author.

A little faith...

I was so captivated with this story. The characters were very real and the story is believable. I want to know how they ended up. Also, helped me realize the God does work in mysterious ways. Great read!

A short, fun Christian romance. I like the way the characters live out their faith. There is no preaching and no need for it because the Christian message is shown by the way the characters live.
