A Rush Of Blood
The fourth chilling book in the critically acclaimed DS Jack Townsend series...
The past is never buried...
Years ago, DS Jack Townsend spent a year undercover in the Bell View Gang in his home town of Toxteth. One morning, he was pulled from the operation, and as far as the gang and their ruthless leader, Liam Mercer, were concerned, he was soon lost in the UK prison system.
Until now...
As the body of a shady business man is found murdered in the car park of a nature reserve, Townsend and the rest of the SCU find themselves with a list of suspects and an ever growing list of motives. But as the investigation takes turn after turn, Townsend is soon confronted with his vengeful past, and it's not only his life that hangs in the balance.
A RUSH OF BLOOD is the fourth instalment in the critically acclaimed DS Jack Townsend series, and is a must read for fans of LJ Ross, Angela Marsons and JD Kirk.

Have to read these books in order to understand this last book when DS Townsend’s past comes to haunt him. Good book in relation to how they dealt with his past and how the latest murder/characters helps solve his past

neat
And tidy. But with opportunity for more. Please say there is a book 5 that I just haven’t found? Somewhere? If not, I hope you get on and write it!

3.5 🌟
I came across this series last year and have loved reading them. I enjoy all the characters and have loved watching them evolve. This one tied into Jack's undercover work and I was excited to really dive into that. To me it took the forefront of the story compared to the murder in the book, but they wove them together in a way. I will say im glad everything was tied up. Or is it? This one would have been 4 stars, but there were SO many grammatical errors (no, not just the difference in UK and US spelling), but the author is self published so I get that. It just seemed like it really hadnt been proofread. The other books i never really noticed any or many if so, so maybe thats why it irked me more lol. Other than that another overall enjoyable book in the series!

I found this series on Kindle , this year and devoured the first 3, they are incredibly enjoyable police procedurals , with original and twisty plots and a continuity in each book that genuinely engages the reader.
They are all set around the Thames Valley in an area which was my home for decades, so for me there is fun to be had recognising and remembering different villages etc,Pinkneys Green in this one.
A fun read where Townsend past and present collide, Merseyside drug lords in the Home Counties a murder, a helpful loan shark, what's not to like.

Another well plotted murder case for King\Townsend
Enright does another great job of putting a challenging murder case together and pulls some bad actors from Jack's past in for an extra challenge for him. The book includes good plot development and lots of action. Things were looking so bad for Jack at one point I was advising him to give Sam Pope a call!
As much as I enjoyed the story I have to say again that Enright desperately needs an editor! Too many run on sentences or sentences that just don't make sense. Somebody please help this author make his good stories even better!

A Rush of Blood is my favourite book so far in the series. The first three each featured a different serial killer with wildly differing motives and methods. Through all the books, we have been given a brief history of Jack’s time undercover and the things he had to do to survive. In book 4 of the series, Jack’s past and present come face to face. With his family threatened, Jack is coerced into doing his former friends’ bidding but he knows how dangerous a game this is. Just in case this wasn’t enough to deal with, there’s been a murder, and that needs solving too. No pressure then.

I’m not sure what it is about this one but the killer felt a little anticlimactic for me. I much preferred the secondary storyline to the murder storyline, it made it much more fast paced and a really good read. There were quite a few grammar/editing errors that I’m not sure I’ve noticed in previous books in this series.

Brilliant
As always Mr Enright has delivered. Looking forward to the next episode. Love the characteristic. He doesn't paint them as perfect. The story makes you want to keep turning the pages. Highly recommend this series.

Worth the wait!
Like the SIX and Jack Townsend had never been away! Another fast paced story with all our favourite characters back. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you thinking. Roll on Book 5

Brilliant as always
As the story unfolds Jack along with his fellow team members work endlessly to solve a murder and as usual some other distractions come into play.
Enough said, read the book you'll l thoroughly enjoy it , like ALL Robs novels.

Glad I’ve read these 4 books. This one I enjoyed just as much as the rest but I really didn’t work out who had been the killer, in the very beginning of the book. It was an excellently thought out plot. Twisting and turning. Maybe there’s another one coming - I hope so.

Brilliant read !!
A slightly more complex read spanning more than one case but the speed in which it gathered pace was fantastic. Another brilliant and well written chapter in the life of Jack Townsend .

Well worth reading.
I have read all four books in this series, they are fast faced and exciting, definitely recommend them all. I hope there is a fifth.

Although mostly predictable
Although mostly predictable still a good read. Plenty of layers and twists. Intriguingly no hint of a next “instalment”. Here’s hoping.
